Haggy,

What part of Australia are you from? I was thinking of time in Sydney, and some time at the Sunshine Coast area also. This would be from September 6th to an undetermined date following.

Skate expo thing
On 7/16/2004 Jogger wrote in from (202.63.nnn.nnn)

By the way. Me and K headed out to that skate, surf expo thing at the Entertainment centre. Definately NOT worth the $26.50 to get in. There was only 1 stall with any kind of speed boards (Force industries naturally) and there was absolutely nothing with luges or buttboards. There was a stall for the "National Skateboard Association of Australia" who state "If your business involves skateboarding then it involves the NSAA",they had posters that had slalom and downhill on them but when I asked the 2 very un-informative chicks when the slalom and downhill comps are starting they had nothing. So when are the NSAA gonna get involved with us????

Haggy I used to ride that park 10 years ago. I have spilt many a litre of blood there. I used too get some nice air off the donut. Riding there at night was fun particularly when the local "gangsters" (read 12-14 year old leb kids) would show up in packs of 40 lookin for a fight.

Hello guys,

Contact Josh Hope, Steven Daddow, and other riders in OZ. I'll get ahold of Adam and his brother Scott. I am doing Toy shows in Tazmania and then Darwin until Sept. 5th. I would then like to do a slide clinic in Queensland first and follow that with another one in the Sydney area. We should definately do some fun rides. It will be a vacation for me just skating and hanging out with those of you that can make it.

More info as the time nears,
Cliff Coleman

aah... bathurst in the middle of winter. one thing I don't miss. if you've never been there before esp. in june or july, then you're about to find out what cold really means. I'm talking 14 degrees average top temp. down to -4 degrees when jack frost pays a visit.
Let me know when you plan the big trip out. count me in. I can round up a few of my sk8er mates out there. Theres more than just the Mount when it comes to quality downhill bombing. Alot of new housing estates have been developed in the area which means quiet empty streets with brand new (smooth) roads.

bathurst - Perth
On 7/14/2004 haggy wrote in from (138.130.nnn.nnn)

yo jogger, yeah, that hill looks like a lot of fun, you guys are flying down, hairy... looks like a great spot to run some Giant Slalom!

I don't have a server but I'll ask Scott if he can host the video. He might ask for the raw footage from allawah as he is quite handy with the editing.

i checked out the force stuff, looks pretty cool. that would be dope if they built some slalom boards and we could put on a contest. Time to get cracking!!
----------------------------------- -----------------------------

I'm off to Perth on Saturday, anyone out there to slalom with?
Terry, I've emailed you man, are you still in the area?
Don't know if I'm bringing a board at this point...

Yo Haggy. Yeah Mount Panorama is a public road, theres houses and farms on it. On the weekends its relatively busy (mabey 1 or 2 cars every 5 mins) but on weekdays it's dead. The first thing you notice is that its heaps steeper in person than it looks on the TV. Its the only run I've ever done where I had absolutely no idea how fast I was going. It's so smooth that you can't compare it to anything. I can't wait to get back there and take it from the top. I'll slap some slalom stuff together for you guys. Do you have a server to put it up or do you want some of Old Skool Teams disk space and bandwidth (we got plenty)? Do you have Broadband? Oh by the way we got some stuff from Force industries. f#@!in nice boards and the company is Aussie and run by a pro speedboarder. I think there just about to release some slalom boards. Maybe he will want to set up some races when he's got them ready. check out www.force.net.au they make every kind of board you can think of. Anyway get back to me soon.

Jogger, good to have you with us. just saw the bathurst vid, that looks rad. what's the deal there, can anyone access the race course? i need to try my hand at some downhilling, but i'm a big time speed wimp!
that's cool that you have allawah footage. if you wanna clip something together go for it, that would be rad.

scott and i checked out the olympic stadium tonight. fun to drive around and scope the scene out, it's a pretty massive area and at 11 at night there is nare a soul about... There's not much bombable there, the parking garages have a couple long, steep spirals but the surface is wrinkled. plus the security is pretty tight on the big one. but we skated a smaller garage which was okay, wouldn't go back there for it though. There was one pretty cool feature the likes of which I have never seen before. it's a man-made hill with a long spiral paved footpath winding down around it. Not too steep, but you can get a bit of speed, it would be awesome to time some runs down, see who's fast!
Other than that, we found a pretty good spot for slalom, so we will have a night-session there in two or three weeks. It's a big parking lot all lit up and no one around, a slight slope but good enough...

Alrighty folks, it's hitting the 3am hour, time for bed.
over and out.

YAAAAAY
On 7/12/2004 Jogger wrote in from (202.63.nnn.nnn)

Finally I've found an Aussie message board that gets used. YAAAAAAAAAAY! I usually just go straight to the speedboarding section but now I now. Have you guys checked out the Bathurst vid? http://www.awayteam.info/images/Mt_Panorama_small.wmv Haggy I got heaps of footage of you guys a Allawah. Do you guys want the raw footage or do you want me to slap something together for you? Whats the deal with Stadium Australia. Any ramps or speed runs? or even any slide areas? I might come down there. It's allways fun to run into Doggies fans after a game, especially after a loss. Joe sorry I didn't get back to you the other day but Kanufi was working and I was busy too. Did you make it to Mosman?

Yeh cool. Rain hail or shine. Or that dreaded wind. There is an overnight dance party at the stadium. From 9:00pm sat night till 7:00am sunday morning. Then a footy match in the showground, Bulldogs v Melbourne. 11:30 till 5:00pm. But everyone should be in there and out of the way hopefully. Should check it out though. Do you have my address.

Scott,
so how about we meet at your house, say noon, and then jet over to the stadium and spend some time scoping it out, running cones, and cruising around...
as long as there aren't any big events planned for that day there, do you know if there are?

Haggy I've heard that there's some good skating to be had at olympic stadium. But that was from a street skater. Still, who needs a hill to pump slalom. Might get some nice pics and video there too. Could use the stadium to block the wind.

Scott.
