In this case, length matters. A longer Taperkick will be worth more than a shorter one. I've seen 27" go for cheap, $40.00 a friend got one on Ebay last year for something in the $20 dollar range. That's not normal. The Taperkick was the most beautiful skateboard ever made in my opinion, and a good condition one, especially a 33" or bigger, would be worth a lot. The Lazers and wheels alone are worth a hundred bucks depending on condition.

With out knowing the condition, year or model, its hard to judge value (I couldn't anyway). I can say Bryan is a good guy who loves snowboards with a passion. Bought a deck from him myself and spent a few hrs. shooting the shit with him in a parking lot. Good guy.

Guys (& non Guys - gotta be P.C.),
A guy that works for me claims to have a Sims Taperkick complete. He doesn't know (I haven't seen it, and am only taking his word on this) what kind of trucks ( he says slalom - Lazers?) and that it has "California Sims Pure Juice wheels. He wants me to help him sell it. I know its collectible, but have no idea what it's worth. Since I haven't seen it I have no idea what kind of condition it is. He say's it's definitely used, but not overly thrashed. Any thoughts? Email me or post.
Thanks, Mike Moore Grumpy Ol Bastard

(Also posted on bulletin board) Question for you snowboarders. I have an old('88?) Barfoot that I'd like to sell to buy more slalom stuff. I found a guy at oldsnowboards.com who says he'd like it for his personal collection. The problem:I don't have a clue as to the possible value of this board. Anyone who can help e-mail me and I'll send pics(not sure how to post them here, or if it's appropriate). Thanks, Dan

GT banana board

The very 1st board I owned was a yellow plastic Gren Tec banana board. At the time all I could think about was getting rid of it and buying a real board. (a Logan Earthski) but until I could afford it I made due and put in many miles on the banana. I eventually got the Logan and stuffed the GT in the garbage but of all the boards I've owned, the fondest memories are still of the banana. You never forget your 1st love. If anyone knows where I can get my hands on another one please let me know. I'd probably pay way more than its worth. Thanks.

Will consider an interesting trade such as an offset axle indy or a pair (or perfect Gullwing Split Axles heh heh).

Little Flipper and Comet Speedboard

There is a company called Equal(?) I think. The make smaller, lighter decks for smaller people(read kids). 6-ply and small. Just what the Dr. ordered.
Todd, Comet Speedboards are custom order only. I have never seen one for sale retail, except for Eli Smouse's decks at Purple Skunk in SF. Because the extra materials are wicked expensive and they take 4x the time/effort to press, they are VERY few and far between. Your best bet is to ask one of the retailers to custom order it for you. I would try Glen at Solidskate, he has been carrying Comet for ever and knows his stuff. Or, Comet can be reached at 510-625-8045, ask for Jonathon, he is head of production.
That said, If you haven't tried one, the best way to sum it up is that the comet speedboard has a unique feel/stability at speed. The way the materials are used allows Jonathon to tune these boards to a specific use( ie. Downhill) They are amazingly well damped in there ride, but still incredibly responsive and not the least bit sluggish(torsional rigidity is outstanding, far stiffer than my 9-ply/aluminum Supaflex 55" which is pretty damn hard to twist). On rougher pavement you can really feel the difference in traction and stability compared to other glass/carbon/epoxy boards. Let alone normal ply.

I am looking for a small flipper deck for my 3 year old son. His older bro has a 7.25 x 29" Acme that was the smallest board I could find last year, it is really too big for the 3 year old. If anyone knows who makes or sells a smaller quality deck, or better yet, wants to sell me one, please let me know. New or excellent condition only. No wheels or trucks needed.

Alright you G&S junkies, if you've been looking for one, here you go. It's not in NOS condition, but the deck is pretty damn close to it. It's a dark green, and it has had some restoration work done to the tail, and it's excellent work too, since I'm the one that did it, and I do this as a business, so take my word for it. The trucks are in very good condition, and the griptape is in one peice, so if there's some intrest out there let me know now. Stay safe all.
