No, 'UK' is the abreviation for 'The united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland'. Great britain is of course just a geographical term for the main island of the british isles. Ireland is the other (that should start an argument). Try not to confuse geographical and political terms...
But what does the word 'british' mean?', if it means 'from the british isles' then all of the irish are british, if it means 'from great britain' then the northern irish aren't british...

Just took a look at the weather for Switzerland.
Sat....77 degrees.
Sun....91 degrees, yes that's right 91 degrees,
and we thought Brands was hot.
Safe flight for the morning Richy and Maria.

Yeah, but those unfortunates from southern Ireland, otherwise known as Eire (is it still?), better not show their ugly Mick faces on this board.
(Before anybody starts complaining, this is meant as a joke and, as my grandparents were 100% Irish, I feel I can say such things without running the risk of starting a bitter political debate.)

Northern Ireland IS in the UK.
Look at your Passport.
Its something like. "The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands".
Of course this could be opening a whole other can of worms!

New forum!! thanks to Clingfilm, Simon & those who negotiated for the use of Brands Hatch. As a non slalomer I was very happy to make a clean run, (only once & slowly I must admit) It was great to see Michael Dong & Richy Carassco on UK soil. Greenwich tomorrow anybody? I'll be there.
