Peter NICE new personal best time! Allan, I think Peter's posts are from several years of cyber experience. Knocking off 0.1 or 0.2 sec from your cyber time can take a LONG time if you are a high level racer and especially so I you are at an experienced level of technique in cyber. Even more so if you are already at mid to lower 8 sec speed. From 2003 to 2004 notice my time only improved 0.02 in an entire year (8.146 to 8.124) and I was trying very hard. The faster times after my first PR in 2004 resulted in a very concerted fitness program (I was not out of shape to start so this was a huge effort - million+ meters on the erg rower) and a better surface to cyber on. Now given all this, I am NOT completely discounting your posted time. I am hopeful that you are running sub 8 sec times. It will make the cyberslalom cup that much more fun and challenging this year. A real cool cyber challenge would be between you and Peter? A couple of notes: Wind: This has a HUGE effect. I never record any times even in the gentlest breeze. It makes from 0.1 to 0.5+ difference in your times, moreso if you are going "uphill" and the wind is helping. Cone spacing: If running metric, 1.8m is not equal to 6 ft. 1.8m v.s 6ft has about 0.1sec effect (shortens course by over 2 ft >>> 1.8m = 5.905ft = 5 ft, 10.866in. This totals to 24*1.134"= 27.21" = 2.267ft. This is the distance less than the required 144ft (cones only). 174ft/9 sec = 19.3333ft/sec speed. 2.267ft/19.3333ft/sec = 0.117sec.) I feel I have it wiered bether then most. I know you are a fast guy, but not a sub 8 sec kind of guy. saint- Croq is not even close to the time he posted. 6 feet = 1,8288 m 15 feet start till first cone and 15 feet from last cone to finish. 15 feet = 4,572 m. TOTAL leght 174 feet = 53,0352 meters. You have to make runs from both directions ad the best time in each direction and devide it by 2.
