Glad to see such a big pool going to worlds! I hope someone comes out and does the super g with me. It should be make-able on 3dm reds. Remember, it's not a downhill, it's a slalom course so if you go 65 in a straight line in a car that weighs 1000 lbs, you're not necessarily going to go that fast zig-zagging a tuned-down board. I don't think Jack and Adrian would pick a hill that most people couldn't ride. Christina Thomas, where are you? Excited to meet new blood. Does anybody know who Niall Horton-Stephens is? and why hasn't Noemi signed up yet? Time to skate. Pumpstation sessions every Thursday evening now to October. Any San Diego locals, newbies, visitors, come on out! The hill is butt smooth and has a super mellow, then a bit of a hill, then a monster hill, and a super long flat run-out. You don't even have to footdrag.

Wow, two new categories on DCDSA and I fit 'em both! Being a woman skater and over 45, I'm stoked to have these new forums. I started longboarding in a big way this spring. I had wanted to skateboard for years but shortboarding as a girl wasn't really an option around here back in the 'day. Now that I've discovered longboarding I'm having a total blast and there's more to come as I know that slalom is just around the corner for me now too. I skate mostly with guys and in Vancouver we are fortunate to have a big longboarding community...with of course mostly guys. All the same, I have only ever felt welcomed and respected by longboarders and rarely think about the fact that I'm usually the only woman skating with the boys. It just isn't really an issue because we just all love to skate and share tips and offer encouragement. It is actually so cool that gender doesn't matter when your skating!

The best part of these races are the people, and let me tell you being able to race with the three lovely ladies of Road Kill Racing was a pleasure. It was great actually getting to spend time getting to know you all this time since we missed out on that in Luna. I really hope to spend time with you all soon. Sarah your one fast little cutie. Laura it was great watching you race you run very clean and have a personality to top that. Meg, my scar buddy and twin we have to get you up here soon we've got some fun to have.

To see so many women signed up for the event was awesome! This year I'm going to be racing women at the World Championships! Shows on! I'm really looking forward to meeting those newbies who are racing there this year!! Keep practicing! its going to be an awesome event! Lauren PS. are any of the women racing on Turry Road at the Worlds (Friday)?

this is gr8! i think micheal brooke meant there was a girl in the next wave section in the next issue.. watch for boys from the ottawa sk8park too! i sk8'd for about three weeks when i was a teenager on a board my dad bought me in miami...i lived in mtl. and wasn't hooked up with anyone else who sk8'd two years ago, my boys were in a skateboarding workshop with their homeschool group given by the city of ottawa and coached by claude regnier - last year they did the same workshop again and i couldn't sit on the sidelines any longer! july 4 2003 i stood for the first time on a slalom board and haven't looked back - i started riding slalom with claude and four months later we opened the ottawa sk8park so that other sk8rs (and ourselves!) would have a place to ride in ottawa in the winter i started riding transition in our park and this year the guys at kebbek set me up with a smokin' downhill longboard! (independant trucks and 3dm wheels)(my slalom board is kebbek with tracker trucks and abec 11 stingers) i love it all

Frank : Getting beat by a clean run like that one would be like the lady seeing your underwear or personal parts back in the old days...you would have been required to marry her!

Bravo to NCDSA for starting this forum. Being the father of two girls, one of which is 11 and is starting to get interest in this "old man"'s sport I am glad to see a place I can direct her to see that "girls really do skate and then skate well!".
Frank: Great pic of the the two women tearing the slalom up! What dude skater on this planet doesn't want to see pics like that one? Skater chics rock! Fit, good looking, and talented! Stoked to the max.

HC- Nice to hear from you :) and glad you're enjoying the Bezerkeley park. I've been there a couple of times lately. When you're up for it, head to San Rafael. The bowl there is 10 feet.....
Also thanks for posting the links. Withitgirl, push, frontside betty, and cio no longer exist on the web. Here's some more though: coolgirlskateboards.com, sgmag.com, surflifeforwomen.com. Hope to see ya soon!

Sometimes I feel like I can only give so much input that instead of giving ideas, it becomes whining, b!tching, and complaining. I wanted this forum stream to exist. Almost asked for it, but I guess, in a roundabout way I did. Thanks for listening Adam.
