for the price, kryptonics 85mm wheels can't be beat. but they don't 'grip like crazy'- most downhill wheels don't. a fast downhill wheel assumes that the rider can slide corners. a wheel thats a bit grippier and still fast (but more pricey) would be abec 11 gumballs.

i need to know what downhill wheel to buy. one that is not too much money and that grips like crazy without losing too much speed

kaleb, there are a grip of insane skaters in colo. go to other forums on this site and start asking about. i've ditched, slalomed, pooled, parked, downhill and streeted boulder and the area surrounding - so much to do, so little time. keep on trying. there's nothing funner than rallying with friends! great luck and PEACE

The boys/girls RIPPED the Poway PumpHouse Outlaw amateur race last Saturday. The women from encinitas RULED (Liz and Amy, and they both did their debute at the Downhill Diva Clinics) and Crystal from SD is getting her rythm, so watch out. Wow, it's amazing watching girls get good......so inspiring.
As for Lyn Kramer, she RIPPED it as always - training hard does pay off - and SHE SPANKED ALL THE BOYS 'N WON the Open division.
The GS course was super fast, many did not even make the course and walked away. As for those determined to rock it, patience and scrubbing of speed was paramount. The hill is not so fast as the laid course created lots of speed. Skaters, if you wear contact lenses, I've learned the hard way - BUY GOOGLES or beware - skating fast 'n blind is SKETCHY! Skater 4 life - that's what it gives.................

i'm 16 years old and i've been riding doownhill sence age 11 and i just recently put sliding in my resema' and i'm lovin every minute of it. Sliding seems difficult and for the most part it is but i have FOUND a short cut to the holy grail of long boarding!(sliding) i live in Bend Oregon (part time in Whitemore, california{i think thats the spelling (near redding}) and its winter so im forsed to the slopes of the mountain but that wouldn't stop me frolong boarding. just 2 days ago the roads were pretty dry so me and my bro hit the near by hills - then it started to snow- we didn't stop and i learnd how to slide using the snow as a tuter. you know i was scared to try it on dry pavement (i got a smith fractior in my left arm my 2 year riding-long story messed up to) but man i got it down my first couple of trys -at low speed . then just tonight at like 10:42.3 i went out side and i got it down -for the most part, there are still some things i need to work on but its all about where you put your weight! front foot back foot all that crap and if you are privliged to live in a place with hills(not huge ones) a mountain, forest, 100 degree wheather, and snow then well try somthing knew and i bet it'll get me laid to (if i play my cards right) any way don't really have one subject but my final one is to say im truely only free curzin and camping so BE Free for all times Never stop riding -maybe in the futer it'll be a major part of Western culture so keep it alive be free in the streets! and remember they can't Keep us off the sidewalks if were going to fast to be stoped if you live in the 541-***-**** area i spend a lot of time in down town bend and park (i've got a recognizable face i look like a burn victim, all cut up) not near the dudes that play sowrds though. oh yeah a smith fractior is when your arm breaks in the other direction as usual - i didn't hve time to put my arm out in front of me to protect my face from the pavement.

at any downhill race i've ever done, you need all pads/helmut or you're not allowed to race due to insurance issues......... for true GS courses, i'd recommend a full-face helmut too - keep those teeth in your grill
