do you recommend any of the new retro wheels for downhill (buttboard) the 70mms???cause some guys told me they are for slalom, but i've seen some going downill with them...

Yeah, I have heard poeple buying Abec11 wheels off of Ebay, and dont mention 'blemished' so beware on Ebay, it's 50/50 what you'll end up with. I even heard of online skateshops selling blemished wheels, and not advertising them that way. I go with MileHigh (got my Fly's from there) or someone reputable. If it's $10 or $20 dollars cheaper then the norm...beware. Good luck.

thanks for the advice but i'm kind of scared to try that, just because the groove is kind of deep. i'm scared that if i try and sand it off that it will make a weird lumpy groove type deal that will piss me off way more than just having a little tick in my wheel. i'll give it a try and see what happens though. thanks again.

make a sanding black and very carefully sand it off, or better, use a grinder, but be very delicate

I just got a set of Gumballs! the things cost me 50 bucks and being a student in california thats a huge blow to the wallet!! i waited like 3 weeks for them because there was a problem with my order, but when they came i was super stoked! i pulled them out and there were bubbles all over them... understandable... but then i saw a huge line through wheel. it looked like there was an over flow of urethane of the inside of the wheel toward the sidewall, and when it hardened and got pulled it made a huge track through the footprint of the wheel. i was totally bummed, i didn't want to send them back! haha, i made an executive decision and put them on my board. i had to have them. i'm a 23 year old that turned into an 8 year old. I HAD TO RIDE THEM RIGHT THEN. anyway, to make a long story short, i'm in love with them. such a great wheel. it kind of feels like i'm constantly riding over a piece of tape on the wheel, but it was worth it. thanks for making sweet wheels chris! since then, i've gotten a set of flashbacks for my youngest brother and a set of flywheels for my middle brother. birthdays have never been better! peace

I have been racing by myself for far too long…. At the moment I am the fastest person I know of in Wellington, New Zealand. I want to come to the States to race and get more exposure to riding with others on the track. What training can I be doing to get ready for this? At the moment I’m riding as often as I can find a dry hill and a driver to shuttle me back to the top. I’m pretty happy skating at around 42-45 mph but feel that remaking the deck to accept some DH trucks and getting leathers that aren’t too small could help get to the 50 zone. How steep, technical and fast are tracks? What events are scheduled for around August to November? Any advice would be more than welcome.
I’m also going to be travelling pretty cheep as the US dollar much stronger than ours…. So will be very appreciative for any help finding a place to sleep and eat in exchange for my talent as a general minion. I can cook, clean and laundry… oh how I love the smell of freshly folded laundry.

Almost the same situation with the Pink "Gumballs" on my end. One of my wheels inner-edges began to cut on the first week, chunk on the second. Now I'm missing a good squared centimeter of wheel here and there.
Anything I can do to remedy this? Prevent the rest from falling apart? I was extremely excited to get these wheels, they ride INCREDIBLY and god knows I'll never be able to get my hands on ONE replacement wheel, let alone another set.

I know its kind of pointless telling you what my dream wheel is but here goes, a 76mm zig zag in reflex duros from ESPECIALLY 72a to 86a, great for carving, slalom, and downhill! I know you probably will never make this wheel, but it would be amazing! Anyone else with me?

I currently have Gumballs on my longboard and Retro Zig Zags on my short old school boards, but need your advice as to which of your wheels would be best suited to strictly carving at slow to moderate speeds. I'm getting a new board and trucks that are both geared to snappy, tight carves, but I'm not sure which wheel/durometer I should choose to compliment them. anyway, what's up with the pink gumballs? I ran Sandia Crest from the tip top with Mercado and DT. They had gumballs and seemed to be doing fine, I don't have any gumballs yet. I was running some flywheels and i couldn't keep them from sliding.
So yeah, Im in that market for some gumballs of somesort. Are there any pink ones ready to go?

Thanks for the killer wheels !!! The Pink Gumballs handled the gnarly Indian School ditch so well. They were perfect. Fast and Grippy. What more could I ask for? I tell you what...
those wheels with the PPS Ditch Killer 44" and my freshy Ninja 7's gave me the confidence to ride with semi-recklessness. I kept pushing the wheels to what I thought the limit was, but they never let go or mushed out. Are you making more of those?
Sorry about your shoulder. I was a little high on the win, and you were toughin' it out so well, that we didn't give you much sympathy. Sorry. Hope you are feeling OK. I can't imagine taking the kind of fall you did.

I just received a couple sets of the X bolts and I think the're sweet. I believe that they are a great addition to the hardware that I use, they make truck change outs alot faster, plus they look sharp. Also got a set of the Builtins, only question I have is when are you going to start selling them in sets of 12?

The Fam & I will be in da'OC August 5-8. Beaches, Boardwalks and one day at the LB Aquarium. I had to build up a board without grip so the lil'guy could play on it without gettin' cut up, but here's a pic of Race on the ditch board. Nice wheels! Hope to see either you or mbe CYa while we're there.

i got my new pink gumballs and have noticed that after riding on them for 2 days, all but one of them has cuts on the inner edges of the wheel. i was wondering if this was normal or whats going on with them. it doesnt really affect the ride but i didnt want them to start chunking out, so is there anything i can do to fix this?

on that truck you "sort of" get a randal(ish) geometry ,and you don't need design and produce new baseplates. They are a bit lower than randals. I think if i had no other choices i'd prefer drop through randals to those "left" trucks,i like the consistant linear bushing compression. If i had to ride production trucks i'd probabely use randal dh's droped through with a 5 or so degree wedge up fronfor speed , on both ends for lower speeds. I might experiment with a ball joint pivot too.
