Porto Alegre's SNAKERUN
On 10/24/2007 M4RC10 wrote in from Brazil  (200.143.nnn.nnn)

Here is a pic taken by "Toni Skaters" of Dave Rogers, Judith, Rick Kludy and I at the snakerun in my hometown... They rode the spot and it seems they liked it and want to come back with their own boards... That was a great day for me. I have a deep respect for those guys and I always wanted to meet them. Dave and I already met at PumpStation in 2006 and when he saw me here, he said: "we met at PumpStaion. I can't believe you are from here..." It was a nice meeting!!

Kludy and Dave Rogers run our snakerun
On 10/18/2007 M4RC10 wrote in from Brazil  (201.14.nnn.nnn)

What a nice day was today.
Sunny day, mild temperature and the longest snakerun in the world to ride.
I met Kludy and Dave Rogers and we all went to the Marinha's snakerun and they had fun. Kludy was riding as always with a big smile on his face. It was great to see. They all did great runs on the snakerun. Congrats guys... You all rock!!
Tomorrow morning they are planning to go back there.

Hello Rick,

E-mail me your phone number so I can give it to Dalua. Does your phone numer work here in Brazil? If not, let me know and I will get Dalua to give me his number for you for when you get here. If you already have plans that are different, let me know. I think Dalua would pick you up at the airport if you dont already have plans.

We are having fun here on the island of Florianopolis. Yesterday we went to an awesome road in the mountains on the mainland. Long roads, good speed and butter smooth pavement.

See you soon,
Cliff

My wife, soul mate, best freind, mother to my 4 kids and I lost her just over a year ago. Sucks real bad, my life has not been the same, losing to much weight.
She was one of a kind that could make the madest person smile !
If not for her none of you would have ever held of me, foresure. She told me that if I did not try and live my dream of racing skateboards when I was old and gray that I was regret not trying feeling like , ( I COULD HAVE DONE THAT )
Because of her I did it with not regrets !
GOD I MISS HER .

fastest man in the bahamas..lol
On 10/11/2007 Mark Grimace wrote in from Bahamas  (24.244.nnn.nnn)

Speed is relative I suppose...to some 40mph isn't fast but when you NEVER get the chance to fly even a jump from now and then is good.

Everyday after work I take a few boards and drive to the biggest, and only, real hill on the island of Nassua Bahamas. Yesterday was like any other so I threw what I call "the big four" boards in my jeep and headed out. As I was leaving my wife yelled "you know there's a big storm coming in right? high winds and rain". I took a sec and looked off my living room balcony and low and behold way off the coast I could see the storm rolling in off the ocean. I raced over to the hill and started walking up. I started the first couple runs riding my Revenger and carved a few out. Then switched to my top squam for some bombing. The wind was really starting to pick up and the tail wind was amazing. After about two more runs I switched to the big gun...my "gofast" set up. Wood/Carbon EVO, JimZ 200mm Trucks, ceramic 10mm sins and lime bigzigs. The first run was fast...probably faster then the next but there was no one to tell me how fast i was really going...but it felt fast. Just as I started walking up the hill a buddy from work stopped and offered me a ride up. I told him about my fast run and he said "why dont i follow you down and see how fast your going".

I pushed like I had never pushed before and settled into my tuck(which for the record is sooooo much tighter after I have now lost 60 poiunds..lol) I put my head down and felt the tail wind pushing me from behind. as I took the corner a ways down the road I proceeded to drift into some gravel and ended up on the grass as I stopped. My buddy pulled up and through his windshield he held up 4 fingers and a zero.

40 miles and hour in the flat as heck Bahamas.

So I have no proclaimed myself as "the fastest longboarder in the Bahamas"

so come one come all....I invite anyone to come down here and race me. And yes this is a feeble attempt to have someone to ride with...lol

* for the record was in a full face and knee pads w/gloves.

Speed is relative I suppose...to some 40mph isn't fast but when you NEVER get the chance to fly even a jump from now and then is good.
