Whoa! I visited this shop a week ago while I was in San Francisco, and I am completely amazed with the stock, staff, and especially the customer service. This shop is definitely in its own league. I appreciate all your help Lizzie.
Thanks, Austin

Awesome shop. I am in town for Stampede and picked up a Tahoe 52 for my wife and a 62 for myself. Toronto should have a shop like this. Service is awesome, staff is great and they have over 150 completes in stock with 20 demo boards to try out. Their parts section is bigger than most skate shops I have been in to. So if you are looking for a board in Canada, give Red Nik a call or Email them at (web) www.rednik.com or Email at surfrednik@shaw.ca. Thanks again to Billy and Tab for all your help.

Thanks a bunch, but I found one more shop within a reasonable distance. After NC Boardshop in Los Gatos, the next closest one is SkateWorks in Palo Alto. Santa Cruz is closer than that! So if this NC place doesn't have them, I'll give you a ring-a-ding.

I live in the 3rd largest city in California! A million people (plus the rest of the South Bay) shouldn't have to drive 55 miles to buy the hands-down best bearings for the common man. I am going to try to find out if that "408 Skate" or whatever it's called still exists.

Gary Fluitt and Asphalt Playground offer exceptional service, expert advice and excellent prices - especially if you are into slalom.
Gary (who is a Roe team member) responded to countless e-mails from me in regards to a new slalom set-up. With his advice decided on a 03 Roe Unlimited and this board is incredible - exceeding all of my expectations. His knowledge and experience is top-notch and he is willing to help you get the right board under your feet.
I would fully recommend Asphalt Playground for all of your boarding needs.
Gary, you help was greatly appreciated.

Oh boy, they moved and now they suck! They have only Lucky bearings on display, with some other bad brand hidden under a record player where the girl working there can't find them. It's a fashion shop now, pure and simple. It is hip and modern with no substance, the Ladytron of skate shops. There are more brands of shoes than there are actual trucks in the store. I would imagine that a Zumiez would have better selection!
There isn't a set of China Bones Reds for sale in all of the South Bay.

Alright guys, I'm sure you've all heard this time and again. So just count this as icing on an already awesome cake, the girls there Patty and Lizzie along with Eli made sure I was well taken care. Even down to reminding me to put some quarters in the greedy meter!
Got to demo at least a good 6 or 7 boards over 2 hours before I finally picked out a well informed choice of a Loaded deck with Randall's 150s, Abec 11 Fly Wheels and Red Swiss bearings. It's a sweet ride (made it down from MLK and University down to San Pablo in just over 2 minutes [almost a mile], nearly killed myself bailing to stop but it was worth it) and I owe it all Purple Skunk.
Top notch and well informed service out of the many ill informed shops *cough* skates on haight *cough* 510 *cough* destination 1440 *cough*
So lots of props to Purple Skunk, and I'll be back soon once I feel the need for speed and the needed sliding gloves!

Life just keeps getting easier. I used to think that it was a cool thing to live only one block away from the best skateboard store I know. This is still a cool thing don't get me wrong, but what is even better is that you are almost as close now too, because they have opened a perfect online store with all the goods for you to order.
Wondering what I'm talking about? Go to www.purpleskunk.com and you will see.
Thanks for all the support skunk team!

STOKED! Just got the new Pumpkin that I ordered from Daddies Board Shop in Oregon. New board in hand (and under foot) in only 4 days to Hawaii from Oregon. That's service! Melanie and Dan were so helpful and so patient with my repeated emails asking questions and looking for advice, trying to get my order perfect. I had a dream board that I've wanted for a long time, and they created it. It turns on a dime, the wheels are smooth, the bearings like butter..... it's PERFECT!! If you want helpful, friendly, fast, super service and a whole lot more.... Who's your Daddy? Daddies Board Shop! 10 thumbs up! Now if only I can find some slide gloves for my funny looking all thumbs hands.....
Aloha....

Vince, your email address gives you away. If you are going to troll for business on this site, at least don't use your "bodyboy" email address. And try not to quote your website verbatim. Your post sounds like you cut and pasted it from your website.
There's a difference between service and spam: Service = Purple Skunk; Spam = proskateshop.com.
Vince, can I come into your shop and test ride over 40 completes from all sorts of manufacturers? Can I come into your shop at all? Can you give me buying advice? Do you know how to properly grip a deck, what size spacer to use in an ABEC11 Stinger, what bushings work best in a Randal?
Most importantly, do you carry anything that doesn't come from Rax Distribution? Do you just have Rax drop-ship the orders for you?
Nothing against Rax, but when a someone decides to use their drop-ship feature as a basis for an entire "virtual skateshop", that's not necessarily a good thing.
If you're going to sell online only, at least have the decency to discount beyond what Rax tells you is the suggested retail price. Come on, is it just a coincidence that you both have exactly the same stock, and that you both charge $34.16 for an Indy skate tool belt?
Someone please remind me never to shop at proskateshop.com.
