Sumner to Puyallup
On 7/22/2007 peters wrote in from United States  (67.183.nnn.nnn)

Dan-o, a couple other guys were almost ready to join this year, Trevor from Cali and Sheldon from up here -- but injury and schedule nixed 'em this time around. It'd be awesome though to have any of the CSA crew join 2008 STP, I think you'd surprise yourself. This ride's really about just stick-toitiveness more than anything, especially getting up that hairy 2nd morning.

This September's 24-hour ride at Greenlake would be a good mental prep for it. Not certain on the exact date yet. But from the May event, it was awesome to see Calin skate something like 44 miles, Gareth around 42 miles, Patrick around 34 miles, and another 39 on his bike!

Spence - good news, the hit and run guy on STP (there were actually 3 injured) should be out of hospital now. One main reason cascade.org runs STP is to raise motorists' awareness of bikes, and part of my reason for joining goes the same for skateboarders. We all have to grow extra eyeballs when travelling the roads though.

stp finish pics
On 7/18/2007 peters wrote in from United States  (64.236.nnn.nnn)

Thanks for the support guys- it was awesome having Skip Marcotte meet up and skate the last quarter mile into Portland, then greeted by Subsonic Scotty and his kids, G-bomb Mark and my friend Sharon at the finish line party.

The STP was even more of a blast this year, I took a little more time to enjoy things like the free chocolate milk stop (Wilcox Farms), get a picture with the world's largest egg (Winlock), met many of the same cool people from last year and a bunch more. That's part of the reason I rolled into Castle Rock the first night in the dark. This year was great knowing the hills that were coming, what to expect and when to tuck and bomb. The Lewis and Clark bridge is still freaky as hell! I'm done eating Clif bars and protein drinks for a few weeks now. Still just recovering, still buzzing from the ride. Hoping to jot down more ride notes as the dust here at work settles. Can't thank cascade.org enough for allowing me along on this again, they host a great event, the logistics of organizing this thing across the state are mind-boggling.

Would like to pull another bro or two into this next year!

HOOD
On 7/9/2007 peters wrote in from United States  (64.236.nnn.nnn)

That was an amazing, blazing GS course, thank you master Pauliwog! Everyone there made this weekend a blast for my family -- the girls really enjoyed watching the tight slalom, and enjoyed the company on the GS hill. Great seeing many familiar faces again-- and the new guys shaking up the top standings!!

I shot more vids than pictures, but a few pix are up here on Flickr, and I'll try for a full-GS video up on Youtube soon. There was a hot tub picture somewhere too but I didn't want to burn anyone's eyeballs just yet...

Is there a dedicated key on Canadian keyboards that inputs the word "beer" on a single keystroke?
