Thank you guys for building my own design (with help from Billy B) custom Torsion Core deck for Morro Bay. It was beautifully finished and everything I hoped it would be...Simply put, THE BEST TS DECK I HAVE EVER RIDDEN! I got a phonecall from a European deck builder complimenting me on the deck and saying he hoped it was going to be an option on the site!!!
Keep building the best boards out there!
Martin.

I had Steve make me a Cutaway a few months ago and the damn thing flies!! I use it as my parking structure speed demon. I used to take a few boards with me when I went parking structure riding, a 57" Ed Econonmy Streetrider, a SurfOne Woody, a 44" Fiberflex pintail and Curve (now Subsonic)Swift 40. The Curve is so-oo stable it's almost boring, you have to have a really-really steep incline to feel the "rush". the Ed' is just fun, the fiberflex is a little squirly, the SurfOne is fun too. But the Insect Cutaway is just perfect (for me) It's super fast, and quick, yet very stable. The board has a lively feel to it(which I like).

I ride an Insect Big Bug, built by Steve for 'proper' flex under my 180 pounds. He got it just right, this board is so smooth and responsive. I definitely prefer it to my Landyahtz Chief pintail, which is also a very nice ride with medium-stiff flex as well. That board is my loaner/trunk board. I'd really like to add an Insect Cutaway for the somewhat shorter wheelbase.

Booch, I think you'll find that most people who are into longboarding, slalom and/or downhill have a quiver of different boards for different kinds of skating. Scrolling back through this forum will give you an idea of the kind of stuff people like.

Are the cab/mcgill reissues flat, or do they have concave? If they are concave, is their much? The Powell-peralta website doesn't have a side view. Thanks a bunch!

if you're looking for a strong deck try a lib technologies. they cost alot more than a mini logo but last way longer due to their construction (maple laminates and fiber glass). pop war also makes one with 2 layers of fiber glass. but everyone's opinion on decks is gonna be different. some decks that dont have any fiber glass could last just as long or longer than one that does have fiber glass. skate style has alot to do with it too, with all the stress thats put on a board from flip tricks and hard landings it's bound to break alot quicker. trial and error, try different brands or maybe an aluminum deck. good luck

if you're talking about a shortboard, you can't go wrong with a mini-logo deck. canadian maple and pretty cheap!

Hey T.O. thanks for the reply back and it is noted,,,,,,I'm sure there could be a great debate on advantages and disadvantages,,,,,,,though I'm sure trial and error is the true answer,,,,,, everyone has a different style of riding and technique,,,,, it's just a matter of finding what works for yr self,,,,,,
I guess..........
