Regarding new member registration confirmation emails, I'm continuing to manually confirm accounts when it's evident that a member is not receiving their emailed confirmation. So if you recently registered and are still waiting for our email to arrive, try your userid/password anyway as I probably verified the account in the interim. If not, feel free to drop me an email at webmaster@ncdsa .com.

Still waiting for your membership registration email to arrive? They are sent out withing 10-minutes (usually sooner) of your registering, so if you didn't receive it be sure to check your Spam and Trash folders. If it's not there please email me at webmaster@ncdsa .com and I'll manually activate your account.

Adam,I firmly believe that NCDSA takes the responsibility for the spark that relit slalom skateboarding, and rekindled my enjoyment of swerving downhills as fast as I can stand it. It's grown into a love that I share with my entire family and friends from all over the world. This year my daughter won her first race I am unashamed to suck up and fawn all over you in saying thanks, thanks for 13 years, thanks for keeping it going when I gotta believe there were 1000 times when you said "WTF am I doing this for", and thanks for the hardwork on the new forum.Joe

Whew.. what a lot of planning and work it's been converting from our old home-brew forum software that I wrote 13-years ago to this slick, feature-rich phpBB forum software! This time around all the heavy lifting was done by our new programmer, Gregory! Gregory is a student at a southern California-based college and he's also a new and avid longboarder. Kudos to him on a job well done! Some of you have already emailed me about not receiving the email needed to activate your new account. Others have received their emails and are already posting. I can manually activate new accounts upon request while we look into the matter. Since some of you are getting the emails it may be a simple case of email unknowingly ending up in your spam folder, so please check that before requesting a manual activation. We're still taking care of a few loose ends with the system conversion, which, incidentally, involved a brand new server, a new operating system, a new SQL database, and all the fun associated with learning those. Suffice to say, I'm extremely impressed with the speed the new site is displaying on page loads.. sub-second in my tests. Thanks for your patience with the new registration process which I feel is a necessary part of a modern discussion forum site. As time passed with the original site, the problems resulting from allowing anonymous posting came to outweigh the benefits of easy participation, hence my decision to require user registration in Ncdsa 2.0.But wait, there's more! A slew of phpBB add-ons and plug-ins are available that I plan on adding in the weeks and months to come that will make Ncdsa.com 2.0 an even better experience, so stay tuned and stay soulful!

From the webmaster..
Expect a few hours down time this Sunday afternoon as we down the server to transfer its 13 years of posts to the new server's database. When Ncdsa.com comes back online late Sunday you'll see an entirely new site based on the popular phpBB forum software.
Once the new system is in place you'll need to create an account and be logged in to submit posts.

From the webmaster..
The upgrade to our new forum software is scheduled for the Labor Day weekend. Expect a little down time as we freeze the old site and make the final transfer of archival posts to the new database.
Anonymous/guest posting will not be allowed on the new system, but registering is free, quick, and easy. Current members: I recommend you register as soon as the new system is up to claim your screen name on the new system. Screen name squatting/poaching of others' established screen names will not be tolerated so kindly refrain from such behavior.

From the webmaster..
Just a quick update.. the data conversion script is complete and the new server is moving from the R&D lab (my garage) to the data center this Saturday. The programmer is still finalizing the new ad management plug-in so I'm expecting the new site will go live in 1-3 weeks.

What would a good sliding board be?

I want to get into sliding, but I don't have a good board. I was thinking of making a 32- inch, and giving it nice concave and maybe a kicktail, but I'm not too sure on how to do this. If you have any tutorial videos, that would be nice. Also, for wheels and trucks, would Earthwing Superballs be good and 50 degree Randals? Thanks, AJ PS: I just realized that this is in pretty much the wrong section, so I will repost it.
