I have to say, i have now owned seismics, independent, and gullwing mission trucks and by far, the R2's have no competition. For longboarders who love to carve up the road, do some powerslides, or just bomb the hill, the R2's hasve the best all around design. Loosen them up and you can turn on a dime, I am able to do complete 360's in one lane and going for a powerslide the R2's are the easiest to work with.

I have an Ed E knockoff homemade (just about exactly the same)that started out with Seismics, then had Randalls then Trackers (for the longest time). All are nice. Seismics were probably my favorite. Until, I made another one and put on some Indy's. I was surprised to find out that Indy's rule on this board. They feel great. Much better than any other truck on this board. Turny and stable (enough). I replaced the kingpins with longer ones. Radikal bushings. Front wedged, rear dewedged. Awesome ride.

Check this: http://www.geocities.com/sk8sanjose/wedgepads.jpg
I would mount the Randals without wedges first, because they turn better than conventional trucks. If You like more steering, add a little wedge to the front truck. If your tail breaks out, dewedge the rear truck. Quicker steering: taler side inwards Slower steering: taler side outwards

just got a set of 150 randall IIs to throw on my sector 9 cosmic 1. im a lil confused about the angled risers though, the taller part of the angled riser should face towards the center of the board correct? and also with the randals, the top bushing should be facing outward right? just wanted to make sure.thanks..

Than Seismics could be an option as well, right? I found a few posting about that - sounds good as well.

I've got Randal 180s on mine, but I'm going to try my Holeys on it. With such a freakin' ginormous wheelbase it's nice to have something that actually turns, and it's hard to make it speed wobble, so I say go turny and dewedge as necessary.
On pure quality, the Holeys are in a class by themselves.

Trucks for Ed Economy: Trackers or Holeys?

Hello,
I like to set up a big board, but don't know about the trucks. Ed himself rides the board with trackers, I only know Indys, I feel they come alive with a little speed and wobble You off fast. But maby trackers are differnt.
What Do You think about holeys on such a big board?

I've had every kind of truck there is in my shop the past few years, and I've got to say I'm VERY favorably impressed with Holeys. I got a set, and I didn't do a thing to them. I checked for straightness and gave the axles a tiny tweak, but thats it. The hanger ends are faced square. Even the bushings are OK for regular recreational longboarding. You'll want to flip the top washers so you don't cut the bushings to bits.
The only problem as I see it is that the holes in the hanger preclude narrowing them much. That and they whistle whe you get going fast...

Seismics on Park Boards

All I ride on my park boards are Seismics, they work great on banks/transition.
I can't comment on the aerial stuff, I'm too old and fat for that.
You would probably be happier with 45° in fron and 30° rear, unless you are used to something really turny then go 45° all around.

seismics on nu-skool board?

does anyone kmow if seismic trucks are suitable for concrete parks, ie riding transitions, bowls, doing lip tricks and most importantly can they handle airs and drops from heights or does the lack of suspension mean that they are probably best used for the type of skating where ones wheels always remain firmly on the ground?
Also if putting them on a new skool-popsicle style board would one use the 30 deg./45 deg. front /rear truck combo or go for 2 identical trucks ,say two 30 deg. steerers?
all opinions would be welcome

Best Trucks for carving

Hey all,
I’ve been doing quite a bit of research on which trucks would be best for carving. The current set up I have is a sector 9 longboard 9X39 (it’s a stiff board) with angled risers. I found that it was best to put the front wedge with the big part facing out. I know this is supposed to reduce steering, but this made my board more maneuverable. The back wedge is with the big part face out. Also the risers are ½” I also put a soft bushing on the bottom and a medium bushing on top. To me this was the best set up I could get with my independent 169s (stage 9) trucks without getting wheel bite. I’m running avilas, which I absolutely love (big softies)
Now I’m looking to set up a longboard (I’m getting a blank in case I have to make some wheel wells or carve them out so as not to get wheel bite). I’m looking for the best carving trucks that will perform well at speeds no more than 30mph. I plan to be carving the streets of Golden Gate Park. I wanna put 76mm Kryptos on my new board and I’m looking for the best carving trucks for a lightweight rider 125lbs. After doing some research I’ve narrowed it down to revenge, holey, and original (those are not in any particular order)
Please let me know your thoughts on trucks and set up advice
Your input is greatly appreciated.

i was looking at powell hardcores for a second the other day and i noticed that the area that sits against the hanger, i noticed that it's a bit bulged,if they where sanded flat wouldn't they snap to center even a bit better.

If you want a Randal-style truck with very smooth action, check out the Force R7's. Same geometry as R-IIs (yes, you can flip the hangers), but much, much smoother. I put a pair on one of my Subsonics, installed the same bushings that were in my old Randal 180's, and was blown away by the difference. Plus, all the holes are in the right place, axles are straight, etc.

Thinking about getting some Randal II 150s and throwing on some abec 11 70s flashbacks on my sector nine cosmic 1 to get a better surf feel. Do I need bearing spacers for these wheels? or can I just get an set of bearings and stick em in? thanks
