While waiting for the 2.5x2.5 billet to arrive so I can start work on my Stoker 1999 project I did some fine tuning on my vintage Thunder trucks that I use on my Lib Tech. I've made various hardnesses of industrial urithane bushings over the years and the 85a blue seems to be the most stable. The 95a needs to be really locked down to be stable because it seems to have slower rebound a leaves an unsprung gap in the middle. besides the bushings I made some billet cup washers that look totally trick and will not bend or let the bushings blow out,actually I don't even know about the commercial crap thats out there , they may still blow out . For the outer (conical) bushing Tracker transparent are by far the best I don't know if they're still available or as good as they used to be, they last forever.Any way being that I'm an enterprising type , I could probabely make these washers and bushing kit for other people but they would be kind of expensive and all the kids that ride shortboards that come into my store wouldn't be interested in spending 25 bucks on washer and bushings, but longboarding speedfreaks whose live could depend on stable solid steering,let me know? herbn@cybernex.com

I am new on the longboarding scence, and the only things i have really seen are from CCS, and what my local skateshop carries. Mostly sectors and indies. I was wondering where i could learn more about longboarding, and it's specific products. From boardmakers, to truck makers, and all that. And by the way what is, and how do you do a coleman slide. I'd really appreciate your help with this.

I recently tried these trucks and they suck!!! They turn a little better than indy's but thats it! They say that they are best turning trucks and they are better than exates but thats a load of bull$%^&!!!

I was reading a sk8board book and I saw these really weird looking trucks and the hanger totally covered the kingpin. There were also these other trucks that looked weired. they sort of looked like Z rollers but didn't have the spinning hanger but it looked like it did. Do anyone know the names of these trucks?

I've started work on Strokers for the millenium.Machining them out of 7075 T6 aluminum bar stock will take awhile but the hangers are almost done. They're wider than the originals (160vs appox.140) and will pivot on sealed bearings. Aircraft control links will be the steering links and these will have ajustable spacing that will change their leverage on the wheels for quicker or more stable steering responce. The parts that will be the hardest for me to make will be the wheel carriers/axles not only machining the parts out of cromoly but also making a welding jig that will keep every thing lined up for welding, a friend of mine does weld so I got that covered. I wish I had a digital camera and could post pictures as they progress.

Freddy,
Don't worry, you have the trucks on correct. People who have never seen Randals will often say that they are mounted backwards, because they look/were designed different. If your trucks were on backwards, you'd know, it would turn the wrong way. The next time someone tells you they're on backwards, just tell that you did it that way on purpose to help you ollie higher.

I am new to longboard skating (or any type of skating for that matter). I just go one of the Deplo 42 cruisers and I love it, it feels just like surfing. It came with Randall II trucks on it and they seem to go well. However people keep saying they are on backwards except for one or two who have that they are desinged differently than normal trucks and are supposed to go like that. Could someone tell me if this is right and which way they are supposed to face?

A friend of mine just got some webb's and doesn't like them much. He says they don't turn.
He likes his Indy's and Standards much better.
I haven't ridden them yet so I don't know.

Jones trucks rule for trick boarding but I'm not so sure about long boarding. They are better than Indy's though at turning if you are going at a fast speed. I checked out their new web site and they are sellin them at 18.95 each. look hecka weird though. They are ok for grinding. Hecka light! Does anyone have info on titan trucks cause I might get a pair! I also need info on Z roller trucks and Z hollow trucks.

does anybody remember these things? interested in selling them?! I do some machining and could remake them, anybody interested? these trucks looked like suspension from a model car and were used under most of the 70's skatecars at signal hill. At the time they cost 29.95 each and were to much for me to pay for such a specialized truck, but boy do I regret not biting that bullet,and forking over the cash I will biuld myself a set before i get to old to enjoy them.

yes randal trucks have normal bushings ... i have to say that the extra large bushing of a exkate truck does turn faster however randal trucks are overall faster and more sturdy

ok ok they are kidda expensive $150 but they rock ! they have a floating axle and with a set of wheels that make a total of 16 ball bearings ... they turn fast .. i have the 60 degree fastest turning kind .. what elce can i say they rock !

Your Invaders are from a company called Sure Grip (www.suregrip.com, though their skateboard products are not featured on the web site). Sure Grip is an old roller skating company that makes a pretty decent conventional truck for longboards, the Invader. Asides from having nice width, the Invaders are taller than most other brands and as such, turn much better than, say, an Independent 215. If I was on a budget and had to be on a rollerskate-style truck it would probably be the Invader. But here in the US, prices are more reasonable than in Norway, so I generally opt for eXkates, Randal 2s, or Seismics.

I just wonder, i have bought a new pintail (my first),and it costed 300$, hey! I know it's expensive, but I live in Norway, and it's pretty expensive here. Anyways, I just wonder if these trucks are any good, it's Invader S/C 153mm, any reply would be apreciated.

Thank you for your clarification. I didnt want to lie to anyone, but a shop owner in Switzerland told me that Seismic wouldn`t exist any more and that the new name was G-Trucks.
