Seismic trucks
On 6/8/1999 Daniel Gesmer, Seismic Skate Systems, Inc. wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

CLARIFICATION

Mr. Ueli Niggli has his facts wrong. It is *ABSOLUTELY FALSE* that Seismic trucks have been renamed as G-trucks. The G-truck is a stripped-down, low-cost version of the Seismic truck, manufactured under license by an independent party in Germany. It is for sale only in certain European countries (perhaps only Switzerland, I'm not sure). Any sale of the G-truck in the U.S. in unauthorized by me, and I retain the legal right to prevent such sale.

President, Seismic Skate Systems, Inc.
Inventor of the Seismic truck
Owner of the patent on the Seismic truck

The Seismics aren't called Seismics anymore. The new name of the company is G-trucks.

eXkates or Seismics on S9 Cosmic CR I
On 6/7/1999 Adam wrote in from (63.192.nnn.nnn)

Dan,

I have both types of trucks in my quiver and a few rough measurements revealed the following: eXkates are 3/4" taller than Seismics (and most other standard trucks for that matter). eXkates will shorten your wheelbase by 1/2" per truck, or 1" overall compared to the Seismics when mounted in the same locations. Weight-wise, the Seismics are much lighter (my 146's weigh in at 14oz on a rinky-dink postage scale). I can't easily weight the eXkates because they are mounted, and they would surely max out the aforementioned 16oz scale. I would guess that the eXkate 101s weight in the 2+ lb each range. Does all this mean I hate eXkates? Not at all-- they are my favorite trucks! But considering the 33" length of the S9 CRI, I wouldn't recommend eXkates; they're much better suited to true longboards (which, by the way, you should consider: why not step up to the 38" S9 CRII, or better yet the 48" S9 Super Cruiser?) If you are dead-set on the 33" shorty, I'd stick with the Seismics and save the eXkates for a true longdeck.

exkates on sector9?
On 6/7/1999 Dan wrote in from (209.240.nnn.nnn)

I have been thinking about puting some exkates on a sector9 cosmic1 for a good carving board. Is this a good idea or not. will the trucks shorten the wheel base at all, if so will it make that much of a difference. will the exkates dampen the flex of the board, or will the flex of the board take away some of the turning ability of the trucks. Can some one answer my question before I waste any money.
All help is appreciated.

We sell longboards featuring Torsion Trucks, just the Torsion Trucks, bushings, wheels, etc.

I have been dealing with Jason Potts and exkate for about one year now. Jason is a good guy who has been trying hard to keep up with demand for their great product.

Wade at exkate has been really great to deal with so far also.

We haven't had any trouble with the trucks ever, and we only had trouble with bushings in the beginning. The recent bushings have never broken.

The Torsion Trucks are still the best by far!!

For the record. Most of you on this sight know who I am. I am and I repeat I am one of two owners of eXkate Inc. My partner Louis and I have had a major falling out and the future of what will happen with eXkate Inc. is unknown. Wade is an employee I contracted before I left, he is a great guy and has nothing to do with the problems between me and my partner. I make this statement so people know what is going on and do not pay attention to rumors. Any questions doubts or comments dont hesitate to e-mail me. Never a dull moment is eXkate folks.

Hello all fellow longskaters..My name is Wade and I'm the new management at eXkate. I know many of you have had a problem with eXkate in the past, and I personally apologize for that. I appreciate all the great comments that you hit us with (good and bad), but I would like you to know that things are changing for the better. Please email me or call with any problems and I will do my best to handle them. As far as some of you that have had problems with getting through phone wise I'm hiring a receptionist to handle the phones.
Again thank you for all the responses and keep carving.

Randals on a Fibreflex
On 5/29/1999 Chris wrote in from (209.178.nnn.nnn)

Jerry,

The original Randal Speed Trucks have the old school Tracker four-hole pattern. Randal IIs have both the old school Tracker pattern and the new school pattern, so unless it was originally drilled for Bennetts or Ex Calibers, you should be okay.

Good luck,

Chris

Hi Phillip

Darn I hoped I could solve a big problem. I've never used the Torsion truck. I've used Z-Roller, Indy 215, Randall Luge Trucks and THR Billet trucks (hey are these pricey). Well I tried, good luck guys.

Xkate
On 5/26/1999 yu wrote in from (209.208.nnn.nnn)

I've had my Exkates for a year. They work fine but squeak alot. Can't figure out why. Anyway when I ordered them, I got direct responses from Jason himself. Now when I go to my local skateshop in New York City, they won't stock them because too many skaters have been breaking them. They carry Randals instead. Anyway, I hope Exkate getsit together, because nothing responds like a torsion truck. Unfortuntately, despit the reliability of Exkates, I going to sell them because they are just too damn heavy. There was a rumour that X kate were designing a lighter truck but I haven't seen it. Speaking of light trucks, any work on the new Jone's longboard truck?

Randal R-II's
On 5/26/1999 Wheelbite Willie wrote in from (151.110.nnn.nnn)

Great equipment, Like R-II's, can take you way beyond what your fear level will! I came across a asphault bike trail recently that had a wicked, twisting drop in it that at first I thought wasn't possible on my longboard, but I knew that my R-II's were great trucks and I had a good deck and top of the line wheels. I made drops from different levels, until I got to the top, now I do it with out a second thought! What just a few days ago I thought impossible is now a sick little rush and I am searching for more! When you get good gear like R-II's you just can't go wrong!

I have to say that after almost a year now the exkates are still working as good as new. But I can understand the problems you are having. I emailed Jason numerous times about getting new bushings and other accessories but no response. I finally just gave up. I think he may be doing too much and they may need to hire some extra help around there. It sounds like they could use some help just to keep up with the e-mails. But these are still some of the best trucks around.

Randal's R-II's

Hey, you know, I haven't had a lick of trouble with my R-II's and I know you guys on those "other" trucks can't say that! Don't mess around, go with a truck maker that has them properly designed and manufactured with over twenty proven years in the business, Randal! The new R-II's are great, with terrific turning radius and great stability at speed, what more could you ask for?
