stroker --- drool
On 1/19/2008 peters wrote in from United States  (24.18.nnn.nnn)

WOW Peter, that's insane!! any of those up for sale or you just toyin' with us?

i think a 24-wheeler would be banned under current slalom rules

here's Stryker's stroker setup, but i doubt he'd ever part with it.

Strokers
On 1/18/2008 Zak Maytum wrote in from United States  (67.173.nnn.nnn)

Alright guys, I know this is a long shot, but I really want a set of Stroker Trucks.
I am fully prepared to pay what that will cost, and it is totally worth it to me.
If anyone out there is sitting on even just one, and is willing to sell it, please, let me know.

Rescently, I have developed a passion for vintage gear that has lead me to make some sizable purchases, this endevour however, is most important to me. I have a tremendous amount of curiousity linked to the stroker concept that has prompted me to hand-machine some 180mm DH strokers in the near future.

If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

~Zak~

not ridden?
On 1/17/2008 herbn wrote in from United States  (71.127.nnn.nnn)

wow , that's amazing restraint, i guess. They're not unmounted and riding a truck would leave no mark, just put them on a board, clean street, no one would know(possible buyers) we won't tell, promise.

Old Rads
On 1/15/2008 Bara wrote in from United States  (204.78.nnn.nnn)

Those were actually the wider of two models offered by Radikal back then...and you're right...the originals were very "twitchy" though i've never ridden this wider pair.

but

they look cool

Radikal's
On 1/15/2008 herbn wrote in from United States  (71.127.nnn.nnn)

i was kind of contemplating the pic of your old board there ,kind of trying to figure the deck brand out, when i noticed the the massiveness of the trucks,i mean that's a full length bolt pattern (2.5inches) and the baseplate sticks out on both ends. Even in width, the baseplate sticks out to the sides. The extra bushings and washers the long kingpin,it's just such a long long way to go from "normal" and i'm guessing that prototypes were made and test riden, and they were given a big thumbs up,and "lets spend the money and do a production run" if they actually worked that well they would have been successful or if they were just ahead of their time, they would have been remade in their original shape.

Seaflex
On 1/14/2008 Bara wrote in from United States  (204.78.nnn.nnn)

yeah, i think Flite's only came in wood....I picked this deck up without knowing what it was then finally found an ad-clipped picture of it on Art-Of-Skateboarding....but since nobody ever sent in a picture of a real one, they took that picture off their site....i should probably send them a pic before my kids destroy this thing......best part is, i rode it last year wiht Split axles and different wheels....it's still got pop

flyaway helmet
On 1/9/2008 rob wrote in from United States  (74.138.nnn.nnn)

does anyone remember a flyaway helmet that was around in the late 80's that DIDN'T have the indented shape, no stripes...and a slightly different padding? It's gel coated fiberglass and has the perfect profile... my cousin bought this at a shop in '89 or so.... just haven't seen a similar design... the padding has an oval with a long star-type cutout on the top.... and solid ring of dense padding all around.. certainly different from the one I got in '86 or so...will try to get pic.

Beamer
On 1/9/2008 Vintage Man wrote in from United States  (66.245.nnn.nnn)

Love the internet... Used it to into this Beamer mystery :---)
www.powell-peralta.com and you will see lots of
their RE-ISSUE decks.. Beamer Deck I suspect is discontinued re-issue.
The ebay BEAMER auctions you discuss had RE-ISSUE in the very first sentence...
Seller was not (LIKE MANY!!) trying to hide that fact!!
Two recently sold last 60 days, went for $150 each approx....
To me is a nice price for used re-issue... Especially one was deck only!
My era was 6.5 to 7 inch wide max, not them thar fancy
pig boards you young-ens rode/ride :-----)
Cheers to all, hope some of the info useful
Vintage Man

Wasn't that Beamer a repro? I remember looking at one on there and the guy said he'd reshaped and resprayed a reissue. Maybe thats why it went for next to nothing.
