I did say, there are no rules, and its up to you, WE're Invading! doesnt mean you cant ride your hills, NO RULES is my way of skating. I just want to have a close event, so k-5 it so it stays quiet, and then when the time is right, KA-BOOM. I've practiced this hill solo to see the best way to race it. Next month before the event there will be a practice day. I have always tried to keep the hills stealth before the events, learn how to work. As far as cock smithery, it may be yours getting smithered into the dirt, on that first hairpin my friend. I'm riding my tube machine at dawn, my buddy has a underwater camcorder. I like your moxy dt, "the rabbies are strong in this one"

Even & Fresh
On 8/25/2009 dt wrote in from United States  (68.96.nnn.nnn)

f#@! Tye, I had to pull the plug on the dawn waves today just like i missed the last sdrl. My sleep schedule sure isn't favoring dawn since i can't seem to fall asleep before 4:20. Got to stay healthy, waves all week. Plus its the right direction for that one secret spot. Got to take some sleeping pills or something. If you got time, come on up.

Even is a very subjective word.

I have no pitty for riders that skate every weekend on much better hills than this. I envy them since I have no means to get rides out there, and the few times people have offered, they have all flaked (a few at least had the decency to call and tell me they were flaking) but it was a major bum out. Mahoney is the only solid guy I know when it comes to rides, when he tells you he can - he is there. When he can't, he tells you straight up - much respect.
Now I am supposed keep it even for these guys?

Because of this, I have only skated my local hills, now I am supposed to stop?

POST A DATE and we will cool it beforehand, but remeber one thing from this post.

ITS NOT JUST ABOUT KEEPING IT FRESH FOR THE SDRL, ITS ABOUT KEEPING IT FRESH FOR THE LOCALS. PERIOD.

Imagine having a Cal outlaw race on Bennet (a hill I've been riding for 10 years) with 30+ riders - it would be devestating - the church will go crazy and it will become a legitamte bust during the day - way more so then before, for a LONG time to come.

In San Clemente, downhill skateboarding is illegal, period. We've all received tickets and had our boards taken in our own town. They don't care here, multiple people have died skating here (all surf kids, drunks, and people that had no business on those hills). Hear what I am saying here?

We're talking about racing one of the top ten runs and one of the FEW runs without traffic. There isn't a whole lot of discreet parking here, hopefully you've considered shuttling, there's a park nearby.

Regardless of whether or not this run should become a bust becuase of this, the only people it won't be "FRESH" for are us locals. Nobody else will CARE, because they will be skating angeles forest, gmr, de luz, malibu, laguna, diego, vista, etc.

Its kinda like the equivelent of me posting up your little barrel spot in Ocide that you won't talk locations, except doing it on SURFLI NE. Sure anyone can go explore and find it but I would be blowing the doors open to put it on a site like that. And you know it.

I am happy to have a race on a hill within skating distance from my home for once. I am not ranting on towards YOU, Tye. I hope and know this will be a successful event. I know the tourists won't piss off my neighbors.

but, just in case, I am simply pre establishing a little history as to why I am giving only one warning. I am never going to bring this hill up again or speak about this again. Just remember.....

COCKSMITHERY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

was hoping it would turn up after the event, sucks, but if anyone came across my Sirius Stilleto portable sattelit radio, it's (was) mine. Its brand new and cant be used (service account goes with serial #, I've paused the service), and there is hardly anything uploaded, which you cant do without the special cable. No bubbles no troubles, $40reward. Devastated

There are no rules to this game we play, but I think the more even it is the better the event is, practice your cornering on another hill and leave the race hill fresh. Just my suggestion, its up to you. Although I will plan 2 practice days before the event, so "K-5" directions until then please. Dt, Dawn patrol waves this morning were going GORRILA D#CK. Just jaw dropping tube fest, every wave just flawless. Dont miss tomorrow early am, Im going to have an underwater camcorder.

I thought we could keep this one to ourselves. Actually I thought you were telling me about the Del Cerro tower when you described it before. I know this one and can't wait. So stoked to have a race in my backyard. Not to mention this is one of about 40 great runs in the area. SC!

Do you have a date picked out yet?

no lock for barney
On 8/24/2009 donnelly wrote in from United States  (72.197.nnn.nnn)

Barney would have to come in 5th, and the next top three would all have to finish 6th or higher, or he(Barney) would have to come in 2nd in the final to clinch it. If the top three dont make it to the final, its open to 7 more. If Art, Dudebro, Madmax are in the final, without barney, art could come in 2nd, and would still win. if art, Max, and Dudebro finish above third, and barney finishes above 5th, its open to 7 more people to win the event and the season. Juan Pablo, romulo, meeself, and a few more that have been in the top ten at each event. The course to finish on is Very Technical, and someone with the smoothest sliding through the corners and into the final drawn around straight away will win this. I have no Idea. Who knows who may show up, to cancel plans on anyone. several people that have missed one event could finish top three, with the top leaders finishing above 8th; kevin Cutaro, everan, ect. Its very close. My top pick would not be Barney to win (though I hope he does!!IVC). If you If you(max) place one higher than dudebro, and two higher than art, with brian above 5th, YOU WIN!! Its wide open is what I'm Tryin to say.

Sddrl series leaders
On 8/24/2009 donnelly wrote in from United States  (72.197.nnn.nnn)

With the next event being the season ender, the leaders are in. Having been in the top 7 in all 5 events its barney ward in the lead, Art, and mad max, having both just missed 1 event, are tied for 2nd, followed closely by Jeff budro (1 event missed also), closely followed by, juan Pablo, romulo, Everan, shark helmet (sorry, cant remember your name), as well as others who have been to every event, like Dylan, manny, myself. With the leaders missing an event, it has made the season much closer, and it will come down to the final event and hopefully the final. Thanks for coming Danny, I brought the budweiser for you and jeff, glad you had fun, not the same without you there.

S.D.D.R.L. event #5
On 8/24/2009 donnelly wrote in from United States  (72.197.nnn.nnn)

Wow, what a great turnout of the coolest people on earth. I know nobody beat any speed records, but the action and good times and showing off bro skills, was relentless. hopefully everyone got enough to eat. The so.cal rivalries are really heating up now. 951 lk.els. crew were almost dominating throughout the event, with Mike Montjoy winning the courserace and the overall triple crown in his first event ever!! Mad Max made sure we ALL know who can kick the fastest (he will NEVER be beaten). Joe delrosario winning the speedboard race in an 8man final including james kelly and THE Jeff Budro with an amazing combo crash at the finish line, thank you for that, its etched in slow mo in my head. Great turnout with DC bro-ing down on the scene, Chris Yandall (thanks for the help with your great Q-skills), Gmr Crew, Chula vista crew, Point loma I.V.C., La Jolla always strong, and everyone else who showed up and Blowed up.

The HighJump Jones contest was won By James Kelly with an incredible leap of 46"!! beating out Jeff Budro. Ive never seen anything so rad. Im going to have to bring that event back. So many were killing it,and may have even won, but lost early trying to make it more fun, holding drinks, spinning, it was sick.

The Crew Cup was just an insane race to the grass hills, and then the fastest to hit the sidewalk. With 6crews enter, 1 crew leave format, it was 951,Gmr ,IVC in the final, Gmr WINS!! I cant get over some of the nonsense being thrown down during this event. epic.

Finally the remaining Chargers still wanted to claim "KING OF THE KONG-course". With the two stooge security gaurds in place ready to help out, The race went on just as planned, racing down 11 floor spiral, do five runs without getting stopped. Security was red hot on the deal, It was neck and neck up to the 5th run, where my best skills came alive, I looked down below from the 11th floor, seeing the security guards telling everyone the way it is, down below, I shouted to them "What are you going to do about it?" and took my 5th solo run racing by the other racers and the security gaurds AT THE FINISH LINE! to claim the Trophy, so stoked. (it actually almost tuned into a showcase showdown with the security)

As great of a gathering of skaters as this was, it would have only been better if some of the reggies were there, Art the leader of the series, carpet bomber Mike Hodges, and Kludyville (I hear would be the highjump jones master), Ben from Grom Biz, Romulo, and others, but our group is growing!

Most of all, thanks to Victor for riding this place since 1961,always giving back to skateboarding, and inspiring this event. You are the man. Thanks everyone
