I agree with BARA... how can you pussies bash on people who call it as they see it, or speak their mind and hide behind some sissy moniker...grow some nuts..some of us may be criticized for rocking the boat, but we do it as us, not some queer little fake name game..
Have the balls to say it with your own name. Skateboarders need to take slalom back...its time to get the SKATEBOARDER back in SLALOM SKATEBOARDER

Wasn't Roe and Herr Vonster 2 of the first carbon boards made in this slalom rebirth?

Hey, Chicken, thanks for setting the record straight on construction. Your stuff has always been cutting edge, even the 'affordable' stuff. I've got a Coughin' Cut (non foam) that's my usual condo-road descender (replaced a re-cut snowboard and a worn-in Turner) that's got many, many miles on it, but still has lots of snap. Tough board.
So, what's with Karl? Gonna kick Katii out too? Or, is it my Coaching.... :-(

Richy said I should take a look at this and let people know what's been happening with PPS. I've been swamped with work have not been able to get to any races since Encinitas 06. PPS Racing is still going strong and we will be launching a new site in the next few weeks pocketpistolsracing.com. Also watch out for new Young Gun ripper Martin Reaves, he's another one of the ever growing COSS crew that has been coming on strong. Jason Mitchell has been on a tear for the last three years and is showing no signs of slowing down. Jason is testing some new shapes so, look for new models soon. I also want to let people know that PPS will be teaming up with Sk8 Kings and producing their future Foam Core Axe series. PPS Worlds Fastest Since 2002, More news coming soon. This is for PSR, in late 2001 PPS made their first Maple/Foam/Carbon/Fiberglass boards. In early 2002 they became available to the public with Kenny Mollica placing the first order. In 2002 they won the World Championships and, have been doing so ever since. In late 2003 early 2004 we made our first concave foam boards. They were ridden in Sweden in 2004 and Barker had been riding one up until switching to pavel in 2007.

I invented the wheel.
But seeing as a Belgian invented roller skating, in London, in 1743 I'll take that as where all subsequent ideas for skateboards came from.

Did someone mention me? Funny that..
My slalom board, back in the seventies, was a 30" Bowlrider (latter version for those in the know), redrilled with rear trucks further back, Gullwings and those new wheels, 70mm raised letter Kryps in coke bottle green.
OK, so I didn`t invent kicktails but go ask Debs at G@S about the emails in `99 asking them to re-release the bowlriders (I know, for my own selfish desrires). Heck, I heve one of the first prototypes of the Teamrider, from Jan of 2002.
And didn`t Kenny`s Ick from 2002 sport a tail.
Hmmmm...jus sayin`

Arlan Moore (Vail, Co.) made kicktailed slalom boards in 1977 under the name Moore Boards. Some of you COSS guys may remember him from back in the days of A.R.A. He was a super strong pumper and could go non-stop all over the place at a time when most of us were still learning to pump. I think the model was called the "Mako"...they were fiberglass with a 2-3" oak stringer and had an S-Camber with a steep kicktail. I wish I had a picture of the one I had back then.

Blinded? By what light? Oh, Don's EGO!! AUghh, turn It OFF, Turn it OFF!!!
Donald, one thing that you did get to Before Anyone Else in Slalom board construction was the combined use of structured wood in conjunction with fiberglass and either foam/balsa (something light inside; didn't have an Axe to slice it with, wasn't my board, either!). I'd consider the Roadster still to be a breakthrough shape, if not construction. However, influences on boards come from many sources, and ideas even occur to folk at opposite ends of the globe concurrently (seen this a few times), so the 'who's first' stuff, well, better have concrete proof/documentation. My explaining the 'firsts' in Snowboarding to many other coaches, clients, shops, even teamriders over the years is very likely why I get an Icy reception at Burton (well, except for JG and Emmett) when I visit the factory. Tom Sims and Dimitri, those guys, the Derrah Brothers (Flite), and Chuck had Jake beat before 1980 in innovation, But Jake knew how to play the Media, and history almost got rewritten.
I've been involved with board construction for 30 years, even helped design the first legit TwinTip Ski (Line, 1995), so I know a thing or two, maybe even 3. My parting advise to you is this (and keep in mind, I folded my company years ago...); Put in the public's eye the BEST image of yourself and yourr riders, and your products, WITHOUT tearing into others or making a 'statement of fact' without asking others to please verify said facts (unless you're the only one who knows...). Going about putting little notes up on various webpages without giving back some respect to those who've earned it will only complicate your venture into making skateboards. It's a small world, and this is an even smaller bit of it.
BTW, I've no beef with you, and other than one particular deck, I've seen nothing but good product come from your shop. Keep up the good work, and as I've said before, let the Boards sell themselves.

Actually, a LOT of credit does need to go to Richy for making a good solid, durable, AFFORDABLE-to-the-slalom-masses deck that is both very utilitarian for a wide spectrum of courses(a "one-gun" deck) for the beginner to ride every course and yet performs well at the TOP of the A Class simultaneously. Consistent, controllable, easy to learn on, predictable in the hard turns, keeps your wheels where you want them. Of course, it's way overshadowed by the SubsonicSkateboards "Pauliwog" model, the very best slalom deck ever designed in the world. Ever. But who really cares about that sort of thing.
