On 10/3/2007 Michael/Octane wrote in from United Kingdom  (87.114.nnn.nnn)

These are supplied by Jonno, owner of 'Decent Hardware', not OMA branded, but 'Decent Hardware' these are made at the same factory and to the same spec. The original OMA 'bodybag' is available in the UK in Camo, and Blue or Black 'Decent Hardware' markings. Some are black with OMA logos. Hope that helps to clear things up.

I hate to talk about 'marketing' but really OMA means less to skaters over here, more of a resistance to things camo, or with the word 'Old' on them, but there is a market for OMA branded goods, and we hope to have some OMA backpacks shortly and these will be EXACTLY the same spec.

These bags prove that if a skater isinvolved in the design, and production the quality goes sky high...these bags are just beautiful.

Words cant describe how good these bags are. Honest.Click here for link

The best back pack out there...holds two completes and is extendable! 1)Adjustable shoulder strap that also doubles up as waist band when used as back pack. 2)Zipped outer pocket.27cm x 20cm. 3)Mesh pocket for can, and also hold 1.5 litre water bottles in conjunction with the adjustable tightening strap. 4)Two adjustable tightenning straps. 5) backpack straps, with waist band. 6) Document pocket 27cm x 20cm. 7) Extendable section. Lengthens bag from 34" (38 if packed carefully) to 45". Accomodates longer boards and safetly gear for extended trips. 8) Inside pocket, 30cm x 25cm. Ideal for T shirts. 9) Tool holder 10) Inside pocket, 28cm x 20cm 11) Key clip PLUS!!! inside the pocket there is a mobile phone sized pocket, and TWO adjusting straps inside the bag. Made form VERY tough fabric in a non sweatshop factory in Bali. Finally, the side carrying handle flips over when the bag is extended to create a new balance point. Amazing

Steve, the graphics look pretty cool but you have to do something about the shapes or lack of. Popsicles dont exactly bring back memories of days gone by. Square tails, bullets, stingers, something wider than 8 inches, different wheelbases. I didnt see anywhere on the site where a wheelbase was listed. The price point seems a little high for a generic popsicle shape. you can buy canadian maple popsicles all day for $25 or less. Check out five points skates, custom hand shaped decks gripped for $40. Thats the kind of company you are competing with. http://www.fivepointsskates.com/decks.htm Good luck

Martin,
Good idea!
Everyone is doing great and looking forward to a great weekend in NC.

Have you got a contact for anyone associated with Turner now? The UK bunch, Peggy? Who would it be?

I've actually got a medium old logo t-shirt Josh scored at an early race, still in the wrapper. It must have been some Tiger had made. A good go-by. Josh is still trying to grow into it.

Vintage Man

I am more than willing to work with you

I am not a pompas ass. Just a guy that loves the sport.
When I skated (sorry still do) the boards were simple
Sims, Santa Cruz, Hobie you know

The designs on my site are just a reflection of what I like
The feedback on the site has been very positive (mostly the stripes)
but I am sick of the gheto boards I grew up with cali
dreams of surf and fun

When I skated we read Skateboader Mag and there was no Youtube
we had to figure the tricks out by our selfs

if you can market

I can work with you

Hell I'm retired lets do it!

Not some Kid as you remarked

I am just kind of sick of the gheto type boards

My stuff is all my own and open to suggetions

I was 1978 Canadian Champ and was with California FreeFormer

Yes I know Crap boards but part of history

Please Please tell me what you like

I have been in the sport for 30 years and love it

Some Feedback #2
On 9/25/2007 Vintage Man wrote in from United States  (66.245.nnn.nnn)

OK....I WAS WRONG... in my defense the directions are ONLY TO the I SPY page... and my invest-na-gay-tive techo-no skills are lacking... There is a complete homepage and website with all sorts of information, dialog, and pictures of lots of styles of decks..... So site does provide a substantial bevy of marketing and sales presentations, and is a great site to visit.
I still thought the I SPY page more cartoon pics than real made decks....
I still fail to see the 1960s and 1970s style deck...
Maybe its in the artwork...I will defer to more knowledgable.
I still love the I SPY name and ideas.....
cheers and my bad as to suggesting a lack of specs, and presentation.
Vintage Man on a learning curve...

New Bags From Decent Hardware/Octane
On 9/25/2007 Octane Sport wrote in from United Kingdom  (87.114.nnn.nnn)

Winging their way from Bali by air, the latest bags from Decent Hardware. A few lucky skaters have these already....pleanty of space for two completes and a very hatty expanding zip to stuff even more gear in. We have them in Blue and Black, Decent Hardware branded. email to reserve. We also have the body bags coming too. These are made in a nice factory, no sweat shop here, and personnally supervised by Jonno, between surf trips. These bags are really well made and strong. Should be around the £50 mark when landed.

Like Some Feedback
On 9/24/2007 Vintage Man wrote in from United States  (66.245.nnn.nnn)

The site is pretty cool!! The name I SPY isfabulous. The design ideas are very catchy!! BUT...to be honest, who can tell what you are getting? In fact the entire site seems semi suspicious, sort of made by some kid. No meat, no descriptions, no who were are, what we do!! Kinda rookie salesmanship at best.... All the decks are cartoons!! 100% maple means what, one ply, 4 ply, 7 plys?? .ANd where is the 1960s, much less 1970s design you seem to want to bring back???!!! Looks like the same ole cheap stuff kids putt putt around on local flatland streets of my hometown.... Again, designs look real original and love the I SPY name... But looks like you have no inventory, no distribution, and no decks made so buyers really can see what you have....
Its C+ feedback with reservations. I would not order from that site and its description of product.... Maybe I am just too old for you new wave, rockin rollen boys... :-) But, I am an expert at marketing and sales... If you are making lots of sales, imagine if you improved that site and presentation!! Lots of skateboard sites are available to view...

The Dragon's Wing hanger will work on all Radikal(slalom) baseplates. Radikal's rear slalom baseplates are 35 degrees and the front baseplates are 45 degrees. I do not know anybody who rides their rear truck at 45 degrees, but you could. The Wing hanger only is $80 plus shipping.

On 9/19/2007 Keith Hollien wrote in from United States  (68.214.nnn.nnn)

I just finished counting and we are almost out of the 3dm Avalon's and Avila's Mark purchased and had trimmed. For Avalon's (68mm) we have 18-purple(90A), 18-green(82A), 8-blue(78A), 2-red(75A) and plenty of black(94A) trimmed wheels. For Avila's (75mm) we have 18-purple(88A) left. The Avalon's are $24 a pair and the Avila's are $30 a pair plus shipping on all.

I also want to make sure everybody knows we have the new rear truck the Dragon's Wing in stock. They come in Hollien Blue, black, red and a couple of splash anodized. They are $155 each plus shipping. For a picture of the truck take a look at Maria's below and SK8Kings also has them in stock.
