check out the rulebook under gravity-sports.com there you'll find all you need. as far as i know, dropped is allowed, but you need a certain space between board and ground...

70mm wheels are required for most racing orgs. i would suggest using what you are going to race with. but everyone experiments with different duros and sizes.

I understand that 70mm wheels are required to race Buttboards but does anyone use diffrent size wheels , 76mm or bigger when they are not racing?

I seem to do alot more Buttboarding in the winter time on a dry 40 to 50 degree day. The hill near my house is curvy and about a quarter of a mile long. I have a lot easier time walking up the hill in leathers when it's cool outside. Plus when the pavement is cold it seems to slide around the corners better.

If they have some way that they connect like a zipper then you should have no trouble. If they dont have a zipper or anything to connect, you can usually buy a zipper somewhere and then have it sewn on.

Im 13, i want to race but i am on the short side of money, leathers are expensive and i already have a motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants, do i need a leather suit to race a GSI events?

Matt we are working on it, we do the best we can to have it posted January 1st but according to GSI rules an event can be announced with "no less than" 45 days notice. I can tell you that the date for MCGF V has been announced and can be found on their site www.munnsville.org That will be an event not to miss!!! You can also check the message board at www.gravitysportsinternational.com for updated information as it comes out.

As a parent of a 17 old rider,(who has been riding a couple of years), listen up!The saftey things is what I worried about the most and still do.(Mom's have the right to do that!). Find a group of riders in the area and ride together! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SAFETY GEAR ON!!! HELMET AND LEATHERS. There is a IGSA race next Saturday-Nov 12, at Bonelli, bring Mom/Dad over and get to know the other riders and their sytle of riding. You will be suprise on how much you can learn from each one of them. Tyler has to buy his own luge stuff, but I'll take care of the hemet and leathers for him. I have to know that I'm trying the best that I can with him being safe, other than wrapping him and his luge in bubblewrap! Hey I think I have an idea!

Look for hills in industrial parks. They are usually ghost towns on the weekend.
But keep basic buttboarding safety in mind: 1) Helmet on and properly strapped at all times; 2) Assume cars *simply can't see you*.. never assume they will do *anything* for your benefit, such as braking to let you run an intersection, etc; 3) Ride feet first, never head first (you knew that).

To find hills i usually use google earth http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html. A SAFE hill is one with little to no cars on it. They are few and far between. Try to find other riders in the area who may know of some secluded roads. If not make sure you have a chase car and stay in your lane. That pretty much covers the basics of roads.
Now, another option is to find a parking lot to ride in. We have found a few here in San Diego that we ride every once in a while. The trick is to find a parking lot that is inclined enough and lit at night. Most of the time there are no cars parked at night. Usually schools work the best. Parking garages work good too but usually have gueards that get pissed when you ride, but some dont care. Good luck.

I being riding berkeley park mostly, you guys should come and ride it sometimes.
BTW, I like Oakland way better than San Jose, but I already got my car windows broken in twice since I moved up here.
