No riding @ Dinosaur Point on Saturday, June 29th. Our family had made a personal commitment for 6/29/02 that I did not take into account when the schedules were released. Sorry about that.

There will be riding on Sunday 6/30/02.

If you go to www.longskate,and peruse their Video selection, you'll find a flick called "downhill motion". The La Costa and Signal Hill segments are very entertaining! John was there,as were a few others that frequent this site.

Sorry I should have told you Sam set the record that year at 54 mph and tommy Ryan and I tied for 2nd, during the tie break, I beat Sams speed but it didn't matter because it was a tie break for 2nd place, and my push man was no-other than Sam himself, See ya at La Costa. J.H.

Just thought I'd pass this along. The Travel Channel is doing a countdown show as I write. It's the "World's Ten Fastest Places." Included in the countdown is a five minute feature on St. George, Utah. (It was number five on the List.) Anyway, there's a good little interview with George Orton. The show will be rerun at 11:00PM EST.

the little kids in my neighborhood like to ride my luge , 2 or 3 of them at a time. to keep their hands on the board,i bent up some 7/8"tubing on a tube bender and attached it to the front of the deck. kinda looks like a nerf bar on a race car.but teaching them how to control their speed is a priority. heels down !heels down ! we have a short hill in the neighborhood that we go down and turn around and see who can coast the farthest uphill.it gives them a sense of lean steer and basic control...and some nine year old beat me.

That Soap box derby is a cool idea. did the kids actualy ride it down the hill and stop. I would worry one of those kids would get thrown foward when they try to stop for the first time. I don't know but we should have junior races at some of the Soap box events. I think if you made it safe and fun for the family you would get a lot more main stream people involved in supporting the sport. Also you can get a Streetluge Plans design at http://www.cafepress.com/streetluge,luge01 I really like the one that says Winning isn't everything it's the Only Thing. cool stuff

Soap box derby
Hey i just got back from some of the practice runs at the southern california devision in Oceanside . I brought my luge and theyre must have been 30 kids who took a run on my board . watch out ,i think i created a new era . several parents asking how to get one . If these kids actually catch on to the luge train EDI might actually have to create a JR.luge class . IF you have a local soap box derby , go hang out with them , theyll idealize you .

Dear Friends,
I am glad to announce the upcoming Summer S GAMES action sports festival in Rimini.
The City of Rimini represents the capital of Italy in Summer and this was the reason we designed this Name: Italy sends the impulse, be ready to receive the stream.
Among new disciplines MBT-Speedway and Dirt Surf: we want to add popularity in particular to this one come from Australia.
I am the sport organizer for Street Luge at Red Bull Trials; for info about Dirt Surf you can contact Franco Favretto (Email: rollerjet@libero.it). Only 24 Racers can compete both in SLR and DSR this year and if you want to participate contact me before 4th June. On being your slot confirmed, plan to arrive in Rimini by Freeday 14th.
There's no Entry Fee at Stream Games, Downhill categories are DUAL and MASS for Street Luge and 4-man for Dirt Surf.
The DH Course is progressively accellerating, completely straight but two fast turns and we are preparing a entire hill: parkings at the bottom will be fully connected to all different sectors for Spectators, with many Volunteers for one of the most important sport event in Italy. TV Highlights and Footage are distributed around the world by the same Partner of the Big Air in S.F. and the Down Rio. On production, a VHS-DVD movie for I.S.E. (www.italiasurfexpo.it Film Festival).
Street Luge event gets the Status as IGSA Nationals: hope you will get the roster and compete with a dozen of best Italian Pilots and get hundreds points in the IGSA World Championship.
You have the possibility to get at Trials forthcoming Pro-hardware before being distributed!
Thank you for paying attention and each person who help in this project.
We look forward to your participation in Rimini.

Sincerely,

Aldo Grippaldi
S GAMES Producer
