Here are the unofficial results of the Gravity Games 6-man and 4-Man Streetluge events.
6-Man ----- 1. Dave Rogers 2. Mike McIntyre 3. John Rogers
4-Man ----- 1. Mike McIntyre 2. John Rogers 3. Dave Rogers
From what I hear, there was any early morning stoppage and an afternoon break due to thunderstorms and tornado warnings. They completed all of the racing today. When it was all over, the Rogers Bros Team had swept the podium.
Mike McIntyre practices with Dave and John and Brent and Pam and Rob and Darren and Pat and Jeremy and Sasha and the rest of the Cheesegrater/Dump Road gang. I am so proud of these guys. I want to party with YOU!

While I'm not going to do the SF thing anytime soon, you can see why I sacrificed some handling precision on my chromy sled by adding huge, thick,Rubber risers between the sled and trucks. Shocks, anyone?

I would like to have (or purchase, very cheap) the busted spin axle hangers from the Big Air, or anywhere else for that matter. The red and silver ones in the lower right picture on the post below are what I am looking for. The center portion needs to be OK but I assume they all bend or break the same way. Will pay for the shipping to get them here. What am I up to ? Making 200mm non spin-axle trucks out of them. Yes I am serious.

California Championship Series 4 West LA College, 7/21/02
California Championship Series 4 brought out a good field of racers for a fun day of racing under the wurm sun. In stock gravity bike Tara Tapparo was the first woman competitor in the sport's 30 year history, and John Travis Hans came all the way from Louisiana for the race. But Jason Johnson again prevailed, and then carried on to win the 3/4 fairing race, as well. In inline, Scott Peer took another win, with Rob and Warren besting Mark for the next podium spots. In buttboard Jason won yet again. Street luge had Marcus racing for his first time in years, and Bob Ozman in his first race since his injury. After 3 runs the group, and then in the tiebreaker Bob Ozman show winning form, teaming with Marcus to squeeze Jason out for the win.
Stock Gravity Bike 1 Jason Johnson 2 Dave Kessler 3 Tara Tapparo 4 John Travis Hans
3/4 Fairing Bike 1 Jason Johnson 2 Fermin Rodriguez 3 Matthew MacLemore 4 Art Gonzales 5 Jorge Devieux 6 Hugo Nieto
Inline 1 Scott Peer 2 Warren Focke 3 Rob Wurgaft 4 Mark Henley 5 Dan Banveniste 6 Kathryn Kain 7 Keri Tishner
Buttboard 1 Johnson 2 Peer 3 EK Kepoo 4 Marcus Rietema
Street Luge 1 Bob Ozman 2 Rietema 3 Johnson

They show it on Saturday at 2:00 in the morning (both PST AND EST) but call list that as being late "Friday Night". Now it appears that 2:00pm Saturday afternoon show is on waters sports (a different episode).
It's worth staying up for tonight.

There's going to be a lot of fresh meat (carnage) and two big air attempts for every rider. It should be another epic event.
If you haven't already seen it, 25 action packed minutes of footage will be shown on TNN this Saturday at 2:00pm (PST)in a series called "RE: The Evolution of Sport". The episode is entitled "Momentun" and it rocks. Highly recommended for thrill seekers and crash lovers. Killer coverage. See ya there!

yeah howzit going street luge rocks just built myself an aluminium luge.the thing is im using the normal el cheapo "old school" sk8board trucks so other than tightening them super tight what else can i do to modify thier performance ......... oh what the hell is the difference between all the ABEC bearing ratings, i think its the lube that comes with it.

Brakes are not a bad idea...they have their purpose. Just because I can stop my luge from 60mph in 40ft with my feet, doesnt make little Johnny's mom any happier about him or even her trying luge without brakes. You know the look..... the big eyes when you answer the question "How do you stop that thing"... that right there stops most people from even trying luge even on little hills. If we want the sport to grow we need recreational riders, if we want new recreational riders we need to solve what scares them. Brake are just one of them. Tim Cayer at the Lugestore and GSI knows this well and makes an adjustable luge with front band brakes. It was advertised in Wired Mag. http://www.americanlandluge.com/ Once they ride the thing a few times and get over the initial fear they will figure out shoesmoke is the better way to go..

wow! cant say a whole lot about the scheleton , not the best idea (head first) i think we all know that . butt board looks fun , but i dissagree with the concept of the brake , especcially on luge or buttboard (good idea on scheleton) , 1/2 the fun is using your feet , and it adds controll and speed with the understanding of the hill. plus the price OUch!! any of us could easily apply the brake to personal boardsfor a 1/4of what they are charging
