Yo Tim! Sand Mountain is on for 2006, most likely late Sept. We would be thrilled to see you there! We would also be thrilled to go on your excursion. Me, Josh and maybe a couple OR pilots? We have a photo gallery that is a good place to show images or even on our home page for "best" shots. Sandboard.com has a forum now as well, only sandboarding, of course.
You really should come up here this summer for a couple weeks during one of the events. I know you would have an excellent visit!

Hi all
I am building my own sandboard based on snowboard designs. I designed th board through autocad so it is accurate. The board is a 57 I am natural footed. My question is where should I position the foot bindings I do not want to put them too far forward ar back. also what angle shound my feet be and how far apart should my feet be. I live in SA East London
Thanks Evan

Spring is coming. The time is now to score the last of winter's surf and get ready for some of nature's chiropracticts.I have bee spocking a particular dune in a particular place that has been slowly moving forward for the last 10 years. It has arrived! Sandboarding needs motivation, but the rewards are grand. There are acouple excursions I would like to do, but need partners in crime. There is a bit of hiking involved. Any takers? Also to DOC D. Do you have a best ever photo page somewhere? Also, any big Cali contest this year? LOVE SANDMOUNTAIN! PEace Tim

Yo Matt! Formica is pretty outdated. There are much better surfaces available that not only run faster but last longer too! Check into "Race Base" by Venomous, "Diamond Base", "XAF Base" and "Promelon". These brands are all superior to Formica but much harder to obtain.

Hopefully I'm not pissing anyone off. I'm sure the image if it is visible is too large. I feel it necessary for those who knew Chris "Dummy" Kalina to be informed. He was a hit and killed on his bicycle by a drunk driver last Thursday evening in Huntington Beach. Some of you may know Chris from Slaloming at the Cemetery. Others may know him from skating pools, parks or surfing. I'm posting something that Arab took the time to write on another site/forum. Hopefully this is not redundant. I did not take the time to read back on this forum. Chris was a kind, humble soul who put 100% into his skateboarding and surfing. I only wish I could grind coping as hard and heavy as he did…He will be missed.
Arab's post: Chris was a local surfer skater that was one of the most humblest of people I knew. Chris was a bro to many but most of you probably knew him from hanging out surfing and skating with Duane Peters. Over the course of the last few years Chris spent alot of time hanging out with the likes of D.P., Chris Hamrock, Jay "Alabamy" Haizlip, Chicken and myself. We rode everything together and some of last summers Baldy sessions with this group were epic!!, I been skating Baldy since 1974 and to this day Chris threw up some of the gnarliest frontside thrusters I have ever witnessed there.
The photo below of Chris was from a recent session at the Jokers Pool

There will be a paddle out memorial for him saturday 10:00 am at River Jettys
May God Bless Chris's family!
