Hi Kludy Jr. -- Get your dad and come down to our Jam on June 11. We might be running some cones there too. We've set the date but more details will be announced soon. So far team riders Gary Holl and probably Jon Bunn from Nor Cal are coming down. Andre Walton is on fire to skate lately so he should be there too along with Richy and Primo & Diane. Ben -- you coming?
You can keep tabs on things by checking here: SK8KINGS News & Events
Maybe we'll see you at the slalom clinic this Saturday at the Pump?

Brother Rene' dug this slide out of his archives a couple of weeks ago. Check out 14-year old Richy Carrasco after he won the Guinness World Record Competition at Knott's Berry Farm circa 1970's. Check out the custom 360 Powerflex wheels and that killer tail skid. Richard Dawson was the host and the show was televised nationally.
Thanks Rene' for finding this photo -- taken by Glenn Miyoda.

Just wanted to show some love to all you die hards out there.. Thanks for the comments and the emails... I miss all the skating brotherhood.. Please feel free to email me and ask questions or just let me know how your doing.. I never realized how big the butterflip got.. It's a very simple trick but back in 1984 I thought it was cool...I had another cool ass trick I called "purbutter" But it never made it in the mags so it didn't get as popular. It's like a finger flip but you flip it three "rotations" and land in a 50/50 no hands. When you stick it, it rocks... When you miss your shins get it bad..
Send some love Butter out

Details, photos and results later check back here and on www.sk8kings.com but first a note of thanx.
Thank you everyone so much. Mario and Jimmy provided us with great, production, coordination and leadership and did an outstanding job of presenting and promoting this event.
The recreation staff was very professional and on our butts every inch of the way to secure those very important release forms. They did an impressive job of communicating the elements of the event to the kids and parents and answering hundreds of questions.
The bands, the JD, the sound, the guest stars givin' us love...WOW!
The local talent is world class and deserves this sort of venue. You created winners of all ages from 6 year olds to an amazing 50 something Charles Wilson who won the Masters division and had the 5th best high jump of the day.
Thanx to the many sponsors for supporting the community effort , we can't do it with out you. Thanx to the WFSA and SPAI staff volunteers who ran many of the comp divisions. Thanx to Richy and Maria and the Sk8kings crew for their assistance and support.
Big props to Ocea Iverson for taking a strong leadership role, getting the girls pumped up and helping to carving out their own womens divisions.
And many thanx to my SPAUSA/WFSA/SPAI events partner Heidi Lemmon for her years of local effort to formulate this type of a successful mix in a home based event. It was WILD!
Take pride and live the peace..we'll see you at Inglewood Games series #2.

Should of been out at Inglewood, CA for the Inglewood Games yesterday. Hundreds of kids freestyling and doing high jump -- along with riding the street park. Very refreshing to see the stoke. Will post some pics coming up.
In the mean time -- here's a look at some current freestyle action. SK8KINGS EVOLUTIONS

Unfortunately Paco is the dips#@! of the skate world. I prefer freestyle, but regularly skate pools. Hell, I skate just about everything. It's all about fun for me, but I guess the jock in you has to pick on someone.
