Wow,what a great site! I love the way that it put together, you cover so much of skateboarding and its history. I love all the old stories of pro's from the past and how it was seen through other peoples eye's. I also like to see some of the old pro's still skatin today and that they are ready to give advice to new skaters. I really like the importants you place on SOUL RIDING,thats whats mostly missing, soul. You guys keep up the great work, you'r doing a awesome job! Dagoo

I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for inviting me out to the Flatland Jam session. I had a great time skating with all of you. The highjump was a blast too! Skating with old friends and making new one's! That's what skateboarding's all about! I've flown out twice now from Colorado for these Jam sessions, so I hope to see some of you visit us here in Colorado! We've got some great skaters out here too, so I plan to organize a Jam out here soon. I'll keep you posted. Hope to see you all at the Breckenridge slalom event soon! If any of you want to see photos of this event, I'll post them on my www.skatelegends.com website soon! Take Care!
Lynn Cooper
PS. Ed Economy, please contact me at cooperproductions@msn.com. Thank you for the honor of letting me skate on your historical longboard!

Dagoo - Since I'm one of the fella's with a helmet on in the Flatland Jam photo, I will answer your question. Also, as always, there are children reading these NCDSA forums getting info about skateboarding.
I like to do handstands, skyhook board jumps, and high jumps, when freestyling. Yeah, I know it sounds real 'Old School', but I've never been seriously hurt skating - BEACAUSE I wear safety gear.
I like to wear safety gear even @ ditches, friends ramps, friends pools, AND "free" skateparks, - not to mention slalom racing too!
My good friend Dave "Skaterbuilt" Hegstrom, also protects his skull with a better super safe padded helmet now, after taking a bad crash @ The FCR Lake Elsinore Slalom Race.
By the way, I personally timed THAT hill, after the race , with my van, from a DEAD STOP 3/4 of the way up - and it read 37 mph... ....One of the fastest hills ever on the FCR Series! Dagoo - - - - - - - -nothin wrong about asking questions - so skate safe, have fun, and please respect the skate cats out there that paved the way for folks like you, and were DOIN IT way before you were, dig? ......Cool.
Have a Pepsi Day! ......... -Rene' "Cannonball" Carrasco.

Well my dear friend Dagoo; grip tape on the underside of a Freestyle deck helps a lot during casper tricks, because your foot stays put.
Good to see so many guys and gals hanging out and jamming, having FUN! So this gathering is old school / newschool / progressive school...however you call it. Good to see some cross overs too..oh well back in the day a skater just skated whatever crossed his or her path. Feel free to check out my new website www.yoyoskates.com

Dagoon-
I wear a helmet because I have a 3" skull fracture and I feel better about things when I am protected-even when freestyling. Are you baggin'? Pope has his helmet on so he can smash goons like you around without having to take off his gloves and wrist guards. Show yourself at the next jam you balless kook. TTFN

***Thanks Maria for including another Carrasco Brother in the JAM Photo - "Bobby Joe" Carrasco! He saw it and you would think that he won a 300 game in bowling. He was that stoked!
Great seeing all those FLATLAND freestyle skaters in one place like that!
Quick observation:
Ed "Aloha" Economy brought out a board, I understand, he hadn't ridden in 25 years! That guy has "longboard soul!"
Great to see Nathan,Richy-{spinning 360's like crazy!},Arab,Wahl,Ed,Staton and his grandson, Dave "Skaterbuilt",Pope-{also cool spinning brah!}Schott,Lee,Sonja,& the local groms, ripping out there! Hope I didn't leave anyone out.
I had never seen Lynn Cooper ride -in person, very impressive , especially the long jumping he did landing on one foot. BIG THANKS to "The Cone Man" Bill Meusche, for the charicature he drew me featuring the "Hollywood" Cannonball!
When we took that group photo, besides Maria -there must have been a half dozen people taking photo's, including Jennifer Bansuelo from Skate-club.com , and there was a fella there with a big video camera too! So...I was thinking....is this maybe a "Major Resurgance" of FLATLAND freestyle skating? ......like slalom's BIG Resurgance- back in 1999? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Sounds GREAT to me!
If that's so......man, I gotta practice up on my red-face tricks - handstands! ........All that practicing racing with the SSS - looks like ALSO now practicing freestyle - for the "HB Flatland Crew" ! ! ! Hallelujah!

I saw you on your banana boards,I peeked over and you stole my 360 trick. I would of went over there but you guys looked so freaky. So I stayed over buy the wall where the curb was all waxed. I even saw that slippery spot with the wax on it. I think I could beat steel wheel and that chinesse fellow with the gotee, but not John poe and the the spanish looking fellow doing my 360's he was good. If I had those wheels I probably could beat him. Who was that hot chick with curly hair and the camera she was fine. Dagoo

So Dagoo -- Do you actually skate -- guess we'll see if you show. One thing though -- please leave your bad attitude at home and you will be welcome. This is a fun thing -- if you want to be involved in that -- great -- if not -- solution is simple -- stay home. As for your question about whether "Bob Smeltzer,Reggie Barns,Cameron Tibitite and Jason Catalono" will be there -- why don't you call them and ask them? Question and answer period is over -- time to go out and skate.

Tomorrow is the HB Flatland Jam and High Jump -- so far response is great and everyone is stoked to come out and skate! May even have some special guest BMX freestylers stopping by too.
Some of the names on the confirmed list are : Richy "360 King" Carrasco, Rene Carrasco, Primo "Slide" Desiderio, John Pope, George "Cadillac" Douville, Dave "Skaterbuilt" Hegstrom, Bill "Wally" Wahl, Bob "Steelwheel" Staton, Lynn Cooper, Dave Hamm -- also hoping to see Big Mike, Jim Grey, Steve Day, Casper and too many others to mention them all. Expecting lots of action and good vibes for sure.
Will be shooting photos and video for upcoming projects -- so come out and show your stuff. Families welcome and if you want to BBQ/picnic bring your grub and supplies since -- shelters and pits are there. Also a playground too.
