Just an Old Dog doing Old Tricks... Opps I said the "T" word... I ment Old Moves.

I find it's always nice to have a live band to freestyle to.
This was actually The Grind For Life Event for Mike Rogers in West Palm Beach Florida. That's Lynn Cooper videotaping in the background right. I liked his board set-up so much... I had to have one that day!
The new Concrete wave DVD is coming out. Maybe I'll be in it... Yeah right... a legend in my own mind!

Freestyle on Fuel

Just checking the broadcast schedule for Surge on the Fuel Network -- their last season is re-airing and the Jammin Freestyle segment is slotted for March 12-13.

This is a segment I produced which includes footage I compiled from the last 5 years including -- The Dungeon aka SF Freestyle comp; Barrio Games LA; killer Jam sessions from all over Cali and even one in Switzerland from last year. Footage of Primo & Diane, Richy Carrasco, John Pope, Daryl Grogan, Lillis, YoYo and many more.

Check out the schedule at "Fuel.tv". If you have DirecTV (satellite) and the sports package you should get it. It's a pretty decent interactive website so you can check if you get Fuel right there on line. Since they are re-airing the season -- be on the look out for a segment on Richy "360 King" Carrasco and WLAC Racing Scene which is pretty cool as well.

Cheers!

Heyyy Rene C!! Bruce told me to check out this site. It's really cool to see old men still freestyling. I have been in touch with Russ Howell and he is planning on moving back to So. Cal. He is THE freestyle legend. I haven't skated in 23 years. I wonder if I still got "it". Later!

I saw skaterbuild he was cutting farts with Ed Economy over on the grassy area. They were trying to figure out how big the hole should be in their spandex pants. You see they are trying to get more speed for slolom and by putting a hole in their tight pants, they can then fart releasing a toxic blow, giving them more speed! You think I'm joking,at the next race ask them to bend over and you'll see a dine size hole. Well, Eds might be a little bigger because he can cut some big juicy ones. I think he has a Dixie cup under there, so he does'nt get in disqualified for "poop on the coarse". Dagoo

PEEK A BOO, I SEE YOU! I was there the, I saw all of you. I walked around and this time I got close enough to hear you'r conversations. I even ate your food and got some water out of the cooler under the table. Those hoggie sandwitches were tasty. I even went over by the Pro's Per Welander, Andre and Richy and some Primo guy? They were rippin even some new guy I did'nt see before was there I think they called him the REAL MULLEN. could it be Rodney? I never seen Rodney but everbody called him the real MULLEN. So I waited for him to ride, he's seemed a little stand off'ish, like he had some new stuff?
He waited, I waited, everybody waited. Then it happened, he put his feet on the board a pushed, for a big guy 6'2 and 250 + pounds,he was pretty nimble. He rode around a bit to get used to the surface, something clicked and he started going off, bustin space walks, fast dogwalks, darkside's, caspers, at that point his glasses almost fell off. He was really into it sweat flying all over the place, breathing heavy, I even smelled his breath. I thnk he had onions, but anyway he ripped! That dude is so good, he tore everyone up! I now can say I have seen the real Mullen and he is everything people said he would be and more. The Real Mullen you got my props. Daggoo

HB SKATE JAM WRAP UP

The first OC Jam of 2004 turned out to be one of the best yet. The freestyle and spinning is improving every session. Had a great turnout for this one -- with skaters coming from as far north as Napa Valley and as far south as San Diego. Great meeting Manuel from Napa along with lots of other new faces from the local area. Representing San Diego was Primo and Diane (and the whole clan), John Pope, and Robin the bike freestylist. Newest SK8KING Andre Walton showed up from Temecula and rounded off the spinning foursome with Richy, Primo and Pope. HB local Per Welinder was ripping it up. Other special guests included the Hegstroms, Coneman Bill, Steve “Badlands” Evans, Ed Economy, the skater also known as “Chicken”, Mike Mullen and many more. Cannonball even made a cameo to grab some pics of the action. Special props to Tom and Ruth K for setting up a vintage skateboard display and even letting kids ride these prized possessions -- including a motorized setup. Too Cool. The food was flowing and the cameras were rolling. A local news crew showed up to cover the event and were so impressed they stayed all day.

The skating was killer -- here are a few images.

Much more to come along with a SK8KINGS freestyle video in the works. Next Jam to be announced soon!
