Count on my support Rich. Do you still have horizontal rain and snow in May? We are booking the penthouse at the Holiday Inn right now....Good luck!

If anyone want to host a competition and needs help, please let me know. This will avoid date clashes etc. I will need to know that the location it is confirmed and approved, i.e. we can skate there and it is good enough etc, and proposed dates. First come first served.

Pavey: Get over here! We need your speed and style. How much is the air fare, or get to the US with Paul Price, he's over your way.
Sheffield later in the year is good, but the surface must be smooth and grippy if we are to attract top skaters. As for the youngsters, mine make good cone marshalls, and will be at the next event, as I hope will Jims and Pauls K's. Luckily they are all around 6 years old, so they can play together.
FFF: I think you failed to see the humour, but the event could not be equated with a real pro comp. Generally the week before we were traveling around 5 cones per second through a 5-6 foot centres.
Steve UKSSA hope to have a longboard race at all approprate locations this year, although mainly slalom events. I anticipate that most of these will be in the south east, but Bude will hopefully happen and I saw a great venue in Bournemouth at the weekend. I may try to get it. It was massively long, as steep as Palace and dead smooth although a bit narrow for head to head on a good stagger. Also it is in a park, with a skate park in it.

BADASS... just went to have another go at posting and gave up, error this error that... I'm not the most technical person but it's just not user friendly,. Take a tip from this site and, well, copy it! That's the only reason you're not getting the traffic you deserve, so definitely look into it, geezers!

Wow, great to see that Board Fest is still getting air time on this forum, glad everyone had such a good time!!! Thanks esp. Paul K, the only one to get it together with the digicam and give us a flavour of the event for those who missed it (and those who didnt, too!) OK, what say you the people to an outdoor slalom/downhill event in Sheffield in May? The House are already involved, its an annual thing in Hillsborough Park and they asked me if Id like to incorporate a Board Fest-type event as they will be having ramps and stuff in the park anyway. So what you'll have is loads of kids and the potential to really give unheard of exposure to slalom... we can still have the pro races but this could really help sow the seeds of getting a new generation into cones. I know not everyone likes having kids involved but I personally think its gotta be done and neednt detract from having a 'serious' race too.
What's the vibe?

S Levene in the cones is a beautiful thing. The added advanage he has is 'the grumbling gene' which gives that aggressive edge. Thanks for today at HP Michael I've been bitten by the wiggly bug and will now endevour to fend for myself amongst the sharks on the slalom page!

Simon Sponsored by Turner, pulled out of his first run, getting a DQ. Always difficult to win from that position as you only have 2 chances left... The course was a 7ft 45degree drop in with a ski style gate start. The course was offset, 20 cones or so...the surface was very slippy, being wood. His fastest run was his second I think. He has a very agressive 'twisting' pumping style which helps him accelerate on the flat. He was wearing a leather jacket. (with matching briefs) He beat Chris Linford (Turner) and Chris Hart (Airflow) His favorite number is 7, his star sign is 'pyrex' ..(test tube baby) and he wants to work for world peace...
