Hey all,
I just got here on exchange from the States, I'm studying in Wollongong for the session. I've been floundering a bit trying to find some mates to do some longboarding. Anyone around Wollongong, or nearby (ie sydney) that'd be keen to meet up to do some chill downhill, that maybe knows a few good hills and such? hit me up with an email nsh087@uow.edu.au

Next prayer session:
Sunday, 6 August, 1:00pm at P5.
I'll be there, and it's looking likely that my knee will be OK and I can skate. I've been out of action since the last race - I blame Paul Carey for pushing me so hard.

That was a great day. The course was so fun and exhilarating - fast, but not as hard as it has been the last few times.
Thanks to everybody who took photos - I'm always keen to get copies to put them on my skate pages at Click here for link.
Also much thanks to Boris for broom duties, and to Chopper Pat, Paul, and Greg for helping out with the timing. And to everybody who contributed prizes.
Final results:
1. 19.60 Haggy Strom 2. 20.99 Colin Beck 3. 21.346 Paul Carey 4. 21.352 Scott Tansley 5. 22.09 Greg Groundhangers 6. 22.55 Kel 7. 23.15 Fitzy 8. 23.66 James 9. 24.49 Mike 10. 24.93 Lachlan 11. 25.57 Boris DNF Tim, Josh, Chopper Pat, Chris M, Steve
Check out the difference between 3rd and 4th - 0.006 of a second (less than a hundredth of a second).
The next first Sunday of the month is July 2nd, 3 weeks away, and I'm sure we'll have a different winner :)

It's wet, it's cold, and it's windy and it's postponed until TOMORROW.
Tomorrow's forecast is "Morning showers", so with a little more prayer we should have some racing.
Monday, June 12, 1.00pm at Kempt Field, Allawah.

The forecast for tomorrow is "Rain, strong winds".
We'll make the call tomorrow morning - if everybody in the Church of Slalom prays really hard it might be dry.
If it's wet we could put it back one day - Monday's a public holiday.

Carparks - Try the Seymour Centre carpark in Chippendale, cnr of Cleveland St and City Rd. It was deserted on the Sunday morning I rode it. Here's a video of the Oldskoolteam guys riding it: http://oldskoolteam.com/ost_vids/carpark.wmv
Drains - Dunno, but check this thread: http://charliedontskate.com/bb2/viewtopic.php?t=836 on charliedontskate.
Slick carving runs - this is hard cos of traffic traffic traffic, and it depends on whether you want steep or mellow. The Oldskool team guys probably know the best spots: http://oldskoolteam.com/phpBB/index.php
Slalom - check http://charliedontskate.com/bb2/viewforum.php?f=7 if you're interested in trying out slalom - it's pretty fun.

I recently purchased a Sector 9 Hydra deck, complete with gullwing sidewinder 2 trucks and ‘Ghost / 75a’ 69mm x 53mm Nineball Slalom Wheels. This is my first long board or carve board purchase, so just wondering if anyone could recomend any great slalom runs around the zone between like Manly, Ryde and the city, so basically around Norht Sydney area. peace out

hello all, i just bought a longboard after years of inactivity and i forgot how killer it is. I been doing it every moment i have spare time was wondering where theres some really good smooth wide runs, and variations like STORM and DRAINPIPES with surf wave like set ups and carparks that connect for ages with constant runway ramps and ramps. Any info appreciated, Thanks.

Last Sydney slalom session before Bangalow

Sunday 14 May, Midday
And a new location, scouted out by Groundhangers. It's at Pemulway (near Blacktown) and the name of the street is "Butu Wargun Drive", near the corner of Reconciliation Road. It's an access road for an industrial park - perfectly smooth surface, nice and wide, a dead-end, and should be almost totally traffic-free on a Sunday.
The hill is a bit steeper than Allawah, but not scary-steep. Hopefully it'll be similar to the hill at Bangalow.
Here's the map:

Yes, that's right folks - it's time for another Allawah Slalom Jam!! Archbishop Bugs and Reverend Haggy will set an exalted course that will challenge your beliefs and test your spiritual mettle. Of course, timing system will be in force to measure your performance against the evils of temptation presented by tricky cones, spectatorial distractions, and fellow four-wheeled believers!
So bring your friends and come on down to partake in some of the finest and fastest gospel on four wheels around!! Guaranteed to revive your soul!!
