I am selling a SECTOR9 COSMIC 1 SERIES FIBERFLEX-TYPE SLALOM BOARD. It is in excellent shape with little use. $50 +ship. Also, can anybody give me some info (dates, etc...) on the WEST LA CITY COLLEGE SLALOM COURSE that occasionally features some competitions? I would like to get back into slalom racing but don't know of any events that are being held in California. I've been gone too long! Appreciate any info.

dane's question
On 6/7/2000 Sonny wrote in from (216.54.nnn.nnn)

"I'm looking to get a longboard that feels just like a surfboard."

--- there is nothing on earth that can feel like surfing. That
is why I drive 300 miles about once a week to get the feeling.
I own both a traditional longboard and a carve board. the carve
is the ultimate for getting a big wave kinda feel. G's on hard
bottom turns and the like. the traditional board is pretty cool too
and much cheaper. 45" deck with randall 2's and power paws...
if you get a conventional longboard get the power paws.
Before you decide check the archives for my (and others) posts
on the carve board... it rocks ... search for carve and surf and see what pops up
Chicago is a long way from the ocean... I hope you are getting paid!
I have heard about some chaps surfing the great lakes... ever tried that?

question
On 6/7/2000 tony wrote in from (63.225.nnn.nnn)

dane,

Like a surfboard for practice, you will need big board (56-72 in) Check out www.members.tripod.com/~stillstoked/ for ideas. Also, if using exskate trucks, put stiffer bushing in front truck for long board surf feel.

question
On 6/6/2000 Adam wrote in from (63.192.nnn.nnn)

dane,

The Carve Board probably *is* your best bet from what I've heard from the company proprietor, and also from several Carve Board owners. From the looks of their online video it can carve rings around most longbooards. Second to that would be a torsion truck (eXkate red) equipped board like a Real-Wood. They sell several "surf-inspired" models that feature 48" glass-covered v-lam wood with full rocker.

Another setup that I am currently having a ton of fun on doing low-speed soul carving is a Fibreflex 42" Cutaway with Seismic trucks (silver springs) and 65mm blue Kryptonics.

question
On 6/6/2000 dane wrote in from (63.248.nnn.nnn)

Hey
I'm looking to get a longboard that feels just like a surfboard. Problem is I know nothing about longboarding. Also, I live near Chicago and theres not a lot of places where I can try stuff out, so I need some advice. What type of longboard and longboard set-up feels like a surfboard? Someone said that carve board sports makes a nice board with a surfy feeling, but that looks way bogus, with those big wheels and all, and the other thing I heard was that carver skateboards (not carve board sports) makes a nice board truck combination. Anybody know about these 2 companies, or have any other suggestions?
Thanks a ton
Dane

Herbn, that was one of the most thoughtful ways of putting down someone who used to skatre but their ass quit cause they got a car, i mean, wtf, you could still skate davis, or did it get to fast for you sorry ass, you have to be in the safety of a car. You bring that car up to my city and we'll see whats left of it when im done with it, fool.

towing the Cressida
On 6/5/2000 Herbn wrote in from (207.198.nnn.nnn)

ah these kids, driving the car moms gave them is their hobby ,don't need a skateboard, got a car. It takes a while, but most people will realize that driving a car is not the end all, but rather a means to an end, having to drive a car sucks, just ask anybody with a two hr commute to work ,with traffic, yuk. When you alternate driving and skating with a friend at a nice fast hill, there is absolutely no question to who's having more fun.yeah get rid of that boring board and buy some more gas ,Sucka.

I need gas money. I know this is a fair price for an extremely great board. Its only a 135 dollars, but at the early age of twenty, I'm retire. No one has even offer me a better offer, so im thinking the "gods" are telling me to keep it, but help out guys. If you buy direct from flexdex.com, they charge tax and shipping. thats like 172 dollars shipped. All I'm asking for is 135 and ill ship it to yall anywhere in the U.S. via UPS.

specs are below.

Davis
