Carveboard
On 10/17/2000 Chris S wrote in from (208.164.nnn.nnn)

For Sale

Used Carveboard. My brother found one at the swap meet and wants to get rid of it. It's in pretty decent shape, no major dings, but the grip tape is kind of dirty. I forgot to measure it, so I don't know whether it is the 43 or 45" model. He'll take $150, plus shipping if necessary. E-mail me if you're interested. It'll go to the first email offer I receive, but I will give preference to people in Southern California, who could meet at the dump road (10/22, 11/5) or West LA College (10/29) and save the trouble of having to pack it up and ship it.

You can check out Carveboard at

Surfing Longboard
On 10/16/2000 Warner wrote in from (207.251.nnn.nnn)

9'6 Gordon board.

Description: Thick stringer, white body with green boarder. One ding that I use Solarez on. For the price you should expect a ding or two.

Ride: Fun, quick, tri-fin, and can drop-in on almost anything with the right rider. I had my four year old catch a wave and stand up for the duration. This board has great width and balance.

Tips for buyer: Winter is comming, this is a great board to ride the spots that are awaiting the North Swell. I competed on this board and can pull reversals, fast cutbacks, and floaters.

Cost: I'm asking for $290. Leash is not included.

My comment: This board can be used by the beginner or expert(how many are out there).

Sector 9 Cloud 9 OG
On 10/14/2000 Nick wrote in from (206.47.nnn.nnn)

Sector 9 Cloud 9 OG (46") complete with:
brand new Indy 215's
3/8" flat risers
9ball 78a 70mm wheels
brand new abec 5 bearings

Board is barely used, just a few scratches on the tail and the rest of the hardware is new. I've ridden this deck a few times this summer, but with this set up, maybe twice, so the wheels are dirty but undamaged and the rest of it just came out of the store. This was my first board and I've found another that suits my weight and style of skating a lot better since I bought it. I live in Toronto, so I'm asking $180 Canadian, OBO, but if you want to handle the shipping charges, You can have it for $120 US, OBO.

This board has a lot of flex for someone over 200lbs, but its a great all around board for cross-town travel and hitting the hills. http://www.sector9.com for product details.

Old Alvas
On 10/10/2000 Neil G wrote in from (198.169.nnn.nnn)

No need for an arm and a leg, look here:

http://www.oldschoolskateboards.net/alva.htm

They have 3 different Danforth models, at around $80 each. Not cheap but if that's what you want.

www.oldschoolskates.com has better prices but not as much selection (no Danforths last I looked).

mid/late 80's old school wanted
On 10/9/2000 Ryan M wrote in from (165.236.nnn.nnn)

looking for old school decks and completes, anything in ridable condition is okay, specifically Alva, Hosoi, Zorlac, Skull, Santa Cruz, H-street or Powell decks around 1988-1989. I'd give an arm and a leg(okay, a pair of tracker sixtracks and a pair of indy 215 hangers, a decent set of Sims 63mm 88a wheels and/or $50ish cash)for a 1989 Alva fullsize bill danforth, or a Santa Cruz roskopp or team deck from around that time, definitely not minty fresh, no NOS, but legible. Your trash is my treasure, just send an e-mail, and I'll be on it.

extra longboards
On 10/8/2000 tropicalian wrote in from (150.131.nnn.nnn)

I'm looking for a longboard in the 50"+ range, complete or not. I'd rather find one that is used for now instead of shelling out more for a new one. Good cosmetic condition is not a must at all, just something in good shape w/no cracks or chips.

Skateboarder June 1980
On 10/1/2000 Neil G wrote in from (198.169.nnn.nnn)

These magazines often come up for sale on eBay. I just finished dumping all of my old mags, and they typically sold for $20 - $30, sometimes as much as $50. A quick scan of eBay shows a bunch up for sale right now, unfortunately no June '80 at the moment. Hmmm, I also note that they're going for closer to $10 these days, must have had some good timing on my part :). Anyways, just do a search on eBay for Skateboarder from time to time, I'm sure it will eventually pop up. If you're in a hurry, you could also take note of which people are bidding the magazines, there's about a dozen serious collectors that do most of the bidding. Perhaps one of them might be willing to part with a copy.

Ted's Magazine

Ted, Before I dig out and through my archive, can you tell me what was the cover photo on the magazine you're seeking? June, 1980 could be REAL late in my Skateboarder Magazine buying days, but it's still possible I have it. Just describe the issue a bit, and save me an expedition through "the stacks".

Skateboarder Magazine June 1980
On 9/30/2000 Ted Terrebonne wrote in from (24.20.nnn.nnn)

Hello Ted Terrebonne here. I use to be a contributing and staff photographer for Skateboarder Magazine back in the late 1970's and early 1980's. I'm looking for back issues of the magazine. Especially the issue dated June 1980 vol. 6, #11. The publishers that control the back issues, that are left, told me that they are out of that issue. If you have or know anyone willing to sell it, I'd really appreciate it. This one is really important to me because I took the cover photo, plus it has the largest amount of photo's published in one issue that I took. unfortunately I lost all the past issues I had a while back. Please if anyone can help me or lead me to someone that can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ted Terrebonne
