i just recieved the abec7 bearings and they are only a little bit faster than my abec1 bearings, do I need to do something special to them to make them work right?

Bills Bearings

I have to agree witht he FKD abec 7 bearings... just be very aware that the inside sheild is only a half sheild. The bearings will need to be serviced VERY often.

I have found these to be very rugged, smooth, with good acceleration. Not cheap, but worth it for me... HR

Bearings for Bill
On 10/17/2001 Adam wrote in from (209.179.nnn.nnn)

Bill,

For $12 a set, you cannot go wrong choosing the Pleasure Tool ABEC7 sealed bearings. As someone here pointed out, maintenance is more important than which bearing you end up with. Pleasure Tool is one of the only manufacturers selling a true sealed bearing that keeps out dirt. All other bearings are merely shielded and get gritty in short order, necessitating frequent cleanings.

I've had my Pleasure Tool ABEC7 sealed bearings on my board for 3-4 months now and they are as fast and quite as the day I put them on... no grit!

Bill Wheels have a greater bearing (sorry) on acceleration and speed, and making sure you maintain your bearings also. That aside both bones swiss and reds I,ve used have been great although the bones reds are more noisy.
How about FKD golds, as long as these are maintained I,ve found them to be an excellent choice, not mentioned often I would compare them favourably with the bones swiss I,ve tried.

I think that the best bearings for you if you have the money would be swiss bones or ceramics there are also ninja mini misers. If you want something cheap go for red bones i ride these because they give a good smooth and fast ride and they only cost me $30 australian.

Pleasure Tool
On 10/15/2001 Ricky wrote in from (12.39.nnn.nnn)

I have been running Pleasure Tool bearings for the past couple of weeks on my slalom board and they are turning out to be an excellent running bearing, smooth and fast. I'm using the ABEC 7 sealed version. The price is great too. Has anyone one tried their ceramics? If you haven't seen them, you can find them at www.edsbearings.com

china bones
On 10/13/2001 double "L" wrote in from (63.228.nnn.nnn)

ive got chinas and thier great. when you wake up in the mornin and flick the wheel it spins kinda slow but after a 5 mine warmup they fly!!
also why do people freak over tha fack that the y only have one shield. the open side goes in the wheel(duh) thus kerping durt and grim out. its realy hard for dirt to get in unless you have wheel problems. so one sideed bearing work just fine.

easy bollocks
On 10/11/2001 shnitzel wrote in from (65.94.nnn.nnn)

after the dc downhill race i had a tempor tantrum about getting a bearing sponsor...... immediatly afterwards i had bearings coming out the ying yang! ha ha ha ha

Doug from Migration skateboards flowed me a set of his abec 5 Easy Bollock bearings. I've been running the shit out of these bearings and they're great! Still rolling like a charm! they come greased and seem to last forever. I think the steel must be high quality. For a little more racing speed the grease can be cleaned out and some light oil inserted...... Doug's gonna hate me for giving away his secrets... heh heh

http://www.migrationboards.com/bearings.htm

you can check them out there... his prices are pretty sweeeeeeeeeeeeet too!
