if you wanna breakin quickly: -remove shields (if theyre permanently sealed remove 1 only and reintal shieldless side on inside of wheel) -remove all lube using acetone or degreaser -rinse in pure alcohol (metho etc) allow alcohol to evap off (sun or hairdryer) -re apply synthetic oil lube (P/Tools, Sp/Crm, R/flx, RR/Rkt lube etc) 2 V.small drops only! Excess lube slows you down! -Put on your helmet -Go race and ride fast

Curious to hear if anyone believes in "breaking in bearings" prior to racing? If so, do you have a fast way to accomplish the break in? I was thinking about chucking them up on a motor and placing them under a load.

you look at them and look at the truck axle they are on and if the common sense solution doesn't come to mind, you go to google and put in "how to remove skateboard bearings" and see what comes up. Seriously man, just pry them out of there with the truck axle.

how to make rusty bearings a bit better

Unfurtinetly i have encountered the worst nightmare for a bearing fanatic like myself, RUST!!!!!
for anyone with the same problem i recomend to if u can put some lubrication on the bearing then skate the certain bearing taht is rusted on the inner side of the wheel for a whole day* (works best if u skate balls to the wall!!) if u can, bomb a lot of hills. then after skating the bearing eather take the bearing apart and clean. (them like i mentioned in previous posts.)or put them in paint thinner then re libe them and they should be smoother and although a bit slower in your hand, when u skate them they wount be nearly as fast a s before but, they will work, and not too bad if i may say so myself.

I do not know if anyone else has tried them, if you have'nt give them a shot. I plan on getting another set. Hats off to another awesome product. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws/Pavel Skates

Hey
Any opinions about a straight choice between Lucky Ceramics at a high per cent less money or Rockin Ron's Ceramics. I ride Lucky already and they seem fine. Is it perhaps worth the extra lucre for what exactly?
Thanks in anticipation.

Hey, I just got a pair of old ass ufos from my friend and those unusually large bearings inside are pretty much rusted to death. Does anyone know where I could maybe get a set, or better yet get something to put around a normal bearing so that it would fit?
I tried to take them out to clean them, but they have metal seals and I don't have anything to soak them in. Plus I don't know if anything could take care of the rust.

alright!!! thisis my first time on this web site and i saw the guy at the very top winning and crying about disassebleing bearings. im here to tell you excacly what to do. im not gonna garrente anything but if you do it correctly you will be able to take berings apart any day of the week. Materials: 1. I like some sort of pin or thumb tack or anyting that looks like a needle. 2. I also like to have some sort of thin rag like a used up sock torn in half or a paper towel if socks are too preciouus for you, but i do recomend a sock because of its fibers and the fact that it wont rip. 3. if you plan on cleaning your bearings than a old tooth brush is a good idea. 4. Since there are bearing balls in bearings *DUHH* than you need a book opened up to hold the bering balls or even better a sock that isnt riped up, or a small ziploc baggy or something like that so you dont loose any bearing balls. 5. this isint neccesery but a conftereble place to sit/lay down would be a good idea. 6. some sort of lubricant for skate bearings like Bones Speed Cream. The process of taking a BALL-BEARING apart can be very frustating procces but like i said before if done right its very helpful in the performance of your bearing. PROCCES 1. Use your needle like object to pry the seal *NOTE: IF THE SHIELD/SEAL IS METAL AND YOU WANT TO KEEP THE BEARING CLEAN THIS METHOD IS NOT FOR YOU* 2. Again use the nedle like object to pry the retainer/bearing cage off. If your a begginer at doing this, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH do this step slowly and if you can horizontally so when the bearing falls apart you dont loose the bearing balls. 3. Again using the needle like object aling all the bearing balls so they are all in one side of the bering NOTE:SOME BEARINGS FALL APART MORE EASY THAN OTHER SO BE READY FOR THE BEARING TO FALL APART. 4. Let/make the bearing fall apart Now if you did it right then your bearing should be completely dissassembleled 5. Wrap the torn sock or paper towel around your finger and then use the outer race kinda like a ring multiple times then using the toothbrush clen it so it has no dirt or anything like that. 6. now do step 5 on the inner race Now both races should be clean 7.collect your bering balls you should have 7 total bearing balls put them in the untorn sock and clean them Good Job!!!!!!! you have now accomplished your task hafl way. all the components of the bearings should be clean. Assembleing procces of the bearing 1. Get the outer race of the bearing and VERY SLOWLY but the bearing balls back on the groove may i remind you that this needs to be done VERY SLOWLY also you might want a steady hand so the balls wount fall out if they do just try again, this is the longest part about cleaning the bearing, NEVER LOOSE THE BEARING BALLS, actualy correction you can loose 1 bearing ball BUT then the bearing will be out of balence witch isint such a big deal but just for you to know. 2.once you have 7 or 6 bearings all the bearings in the groove then put the inner race VERY SLOWLY. 3. once thats done keep it vertical, the bearing should look like step 3 on the dissassembly part of the procces . 4. Now using the needle like object push one bering ball to the oppisite side of the group of bearings. 5. then arrange the bearing balls so it matches the pattern of the retainer 6. snap the retainer on the bearing balls By now if your bearings were previously dirty then they should spin freely now 7. put the seal/shield(s) back on the bearing 8. DONE!!!!!!! 9. crack open a cold one and pat your self in the back beacuse u just saved your self a new set of bearings. 10. Skate the sons o' bitces
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS SEND PICTURES OF THE EXACT STEP OF THE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY OF YOUR BEARINGS TO juan-carr7llQ@Hotmail.com AND I WILL E-MAIL YOU BACK WITHA SOLUTION.
