Skated the Groton skatepark bright and early on Monday AM. I had the place to myself and had a blast. It is an interesting park, unlike any other park that I have skated. All concrete and asphalt with many great lines to skate. Grafitti everywhere and lots of trash, etc. but definitely worth checking it out if you are out this way. Skated the Jamestown RI park this weekend too. Nice concrete but the park is pretty small. Kind of set up like Nashua NH but Nashua is a much bigger scale and much more enjoyable to skate. Plus Nashua has a pool. Hope you have a great summer! Rob

Here's a great article on one of the coolest skate moms who's core to the Parents for Skateparks group -- pushing to get new parks located on decent real estate.

A good lesson for city planners -- "more eyes on the park" means less vandalism, skaters integrated with the rest of the community, easier for parents to drive their kids there -- overall a much better vibe.

On Sunday May 21st we had a final skate session at Tony's pool in the Badlands. It was an all day session that was also captured on video by Toby Burger. Sadly the deep end was filled in with concrete three days later making the whole thing a kiddie pool. What a waste... Follow the link below to view the gallery.

Here's what I have on my Jay Adams. Its an original f-glass Z, and I originally outfitted it up with modern full-tracks and some 94a cambrias. I found that the 86a and 90a cambrias are more than adequate on any terrain from smooth park pools and bowls to street cruising to ditches. A far better all around feel than the 94a.
I am currently running some mid tracks and the 90a tunnel rocks on the Z, and it still does not stop a beat. What you will find is that with wider wheels (cambrias, no-skoolz, tunnel rocks, BDS doubles and singles) is that the load is spread out better, larger contact area. A 90a wheel works fine in a wide wheel and provides more than adequate speed and performance. But, a 90a modern narrow wheel becomes too mushy since it has less contact area. Basically not really good for much except sliding. add some width and you can really feel it.
On another retro ride I am using 92a 65mm no skoolz. board feels great on all sorts of terrain. My longboard has full tracks and 86a cambrias. feels great, everywhere.

Anyone have any suggestions for the best setup for a lords of dogtown style board that will be good for everything (cruizin, banks, parks, pools, bombin, carvin). I was thinking about the z flex jay adams 29 in deck, with some tracker full tracks or mid tracks, and some kind of old school wheels like cadillacs, road riders or tunnel. maybe some retro bertz, or some kind of bulldog wheels. how soft of a durometer can the wheels be to carve really hard in a pool, but still pull berts on the bank?

I saw a pool skater this last weekend at the new Grindline Park in Oxford Mississippi. The park is awesome. Back to my question the bro had an Indy 169 back and a Randal 150 front. Why? I am just starting to ride transition again. Curious. Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Ocean bowl skatepark in Ocean city Maryland will be celebating it 30th anniversary on May 20 2006.This makes to park the oldest municpal park in the country.There are going to be bands playing in the field and grindsc inthe pool.Help show yuor support and be there!!!!!!!!
