Right on, Tony. I knew there was no way you guys did not know about it. Looked to be a fairly new housing addition that stands behind it and the concrete looked clean with no tagging. On the way up I was trying to find 550 which I had no idea was called 550 since the map I had was old and listed a different highway. I know, BUY A NEW MAP, MORON! I said it too.......

Driving by this ditch, I took a photo, then another as I went by another day. The first one had water in it, but the second photo- it was dry.
This ditch is very REMINISCENT of the famous Santa Ana "Flower Street Ditch" from the 1970's fame! Remember the one under the Freeway ? Man, that was good ditch riding !
I heard back then - - that a Santa Cruz Skateboard Team rider was gonna put on an UNDERGROUND contest there- - today they would refer it to "Outlaw Contest".....BUT - the local police found out, and it was called off ! Today that ditch is SEALED OFF by a HUGE MASSIVE WALL ! -Oh well.

Its actually in AZ, in a motorhome park where my grandparents live. We go there 3 or 4 times a year (i live in socal) and hit it up every time. It usually takes some time to clean up paths to make the whole thing skate-able. Thats my Dad in the pics, he is 53 and skates harder that I do.

Was in Durango all last week and came back through down 550 south to Bernalillo and saw a ditch right off 550 about a mile or two to the north and west of I-25. Sand in the bottom and brushed surface. You guys are all over it I'm sure. And while we're talking N.M., in between ABQ and Amarillo on I-40 lies the town of Tucumcari. I checked out 3 hotels right on the main strip and found an empty kidney in each! Vacation in Tucumcari!!!!!!!!

This is the first time I have posted pics, so if it doesnt work, sorry.
This place was killer. It is really fast due to the downhill slope with pretty nice transitions. It took a full day to clean out paths through the sand but well worth the effort.

I know you pro'ly got a New England ditch ride posse and what-not, but where do you go local to skate banks/ditches? Any pics to show? That 540 slide you did on Indian School Ditch on Kaylee's site was just too much because like Hackett says "It's so old it's new again". I saw Stacey do it on the hidden clips on Z-boys but you just blew it up. What are the dims on your new board Wentzle?

Here's a recently discovered Phoenix area ditch that has some promise. Looks like it only needs a little cleaning. Nice transitions, but relatively no slope to it.... should still be fun though.
If anyone is interested in going out to it and cleaning it up some send e-mail my way.

"IF ME, LOWRIE, AND GBMII WERE A LITTLE SCARED OF THIS THING IT MUST BE NUTS." Then I'd be more than nuts to try it! I just want to keep the map updated. Went to ABQ for Xmas dinner last night, had a board in the back... but every time I saw a ditch and started to slow down, Sparky would either flash me, or smack me. In her words, "I don't want to have to explain why we are late and you are shredded like cheese." Hmmph. No respect.

Howdy from Steve in N.Scottsdale, Paul.
Be sure to also check with A-dam Trah-an (he runs slalomskate-r.com), as he knows of other spots (remove the dashes).
Kaylee's website includes pics and some "general" locations of some of our current riding spots, so be sure to include them as well. http://www.unm.edu/~moebius/
Lastly, it sounds as if you're going "underground" is a facinating idea! Be sure to also get the goods on the above ground stuff...like what's with the ditch next to the 101 freeway up north of Indian Bend in Scottsdale? Cool lookin' stuff, but no access points are known.
Keep me in the loop...er, I mean "pipeline".
