WesE... tired of the rain... come out to my desert! We get rain about 10 days a year... and our lack of paved drainage ditches is a testimony to that!
Want water to drain in the desert? Scratch a line in the dirt and theirs your ditch! HR

It's forecasted to rain here in Ohio too. I'll go outside with a fan tonight and try to blow it west. I'm itching to hit some roundwall this weekend anyway so it'll help both of us out. LoL

Kaylee, while you're wishing for rain where you live, many of us are nearly drowning from so much precipitation. If you want some of our weekend rain, please take it.

Ditch Directory Update

The online ditch directory,
Ditches Are Deadly, Stay Away!
, has been updated. Look for new pics of the Howler, the Dish, pics from the EZ7 ditch contest, and new links. There is also a secret map for all the people interested in Albuquerque ditches.
On a side note, I went with my buddy Ruben to some of the ditches yesterday. Some "clean up crews" must have come in to level the dirt and bushes next to the ditches. The city does this every once in a while. It was done to the Bear a few weeks before the last race. The problem is that they just kick all the dirt, rocks, and debris down into the ditch, figuring that it will get washed away eventually. The result? Huge sections of Indian School and Layton ditches are dirty to the point of being unridable. For those of you who have been there, Indian School is in desparate need of some serious rain between the Tramway Bridge and the next footbride, and between Chelwood and Juan Tabo. I'm praying for some ditch-cleaning rain soon. Keep your fingers crossed!

Any old farts out there from the Santa Clarita Valley. There was cool spillway off the Golf course near Fairways condos. Its been 15 yrs since i was last there i heard lots of new homes have been built.Wondering if there are any flood control, spillways, ditches or concrete to go along with these new developments.(They use to also drain the pools at the county parks in the neighborhoods every winter do they still do that?) They where steep.

the Blood Bowl on the corner of Lane Rd. and Route 33 is a little different than The Gates of Hell. The walls are pretty big, but the flat bottom is kind of small, probably about 2 yards. Also the walls vary from about 3 feet to 13 feet. The Blood Bowl isn't very long also. Its long enough to have a fun little session, but its probably about 20 feet.

JRC - Ho, sorry ah? More of a question if you had ridden there. As for watching Animal Chin, it's been more years than I can remember.... And other than Animal Chin, which my memory is apparently fuzzing the particular scene, I haven't ever seen anyone skate it.

Nope sorry man, the ditch is somewhere in Arizona.
It's got a pretty nice decline to it so you pick up some pretty decent speed during your run.
It is adequately lit up at night by some surrounding lights so it's skateable 24/7.
For the most part the surface is pretty nice. Although there are one or two small rough spots.
The ditch gets it name from what scampers throughout the desert below at night... The Coyotes... During a recent session when an ambulance was blaring its sirenes in the distance... A big pack of coyotes and coyote pups probably not more then a couple hundred yards away responded by letting out some vivacious howls.
The spot is in a location that could potentially get busted so we want to keep it on the downlow.
My friend Ian will be posting it up on the Ditch Directory real soon.. with one of our e-mail addresses.

Matt that spot looks sick but pretty isolated is there really a need to keep it a big secret? the chances of a place like that becoming a bust seem slim but that is jsut by my judging of the background

which Blood Bowl? there's actually two, one down on campus which is also known as The Gates of Hell, and another at the corner of Lane Rd. and Riverside Drive (Route 33) in Upper Arlington. The one in Upper Arlington will be dry when ever the sun is out. But the one on campus I don't know about.
