so, I'm getting the itch for a new epic chalenge in life, as if 120 marathons and a couple 100 mile runs to date aren't enough, and am thinking about following in your wheel tracks and trying the board thing! Used to have a board I laid on and rode fast down hills as a kid, but that's it ... any advice for an oldster like moi to start chasing the downhill dream?
Take care Kenny! Darris

Nice photos from the past. At least this forum isn't about a stick anymore. Did Kenny pull a "Seeger" and stay in Hawaii? Let's see some of those photos!
I'll be in Ohio in 2 weeks, I'll give you a ring!

Cfav, I've seen you skate and you look nothing like a dork, nor are you in need of training wheels. I've got one of the "Big Stick" paddles, and really enjoy using it. And so far I haven't received any smart-ass comments from the kiddies I see when I'm using it...I think they're afraid I might smack them with it!
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

It is called paddle boarding. I have one of the sticks and use it around your old stomping grounds in Central Ohio. It gives a pretty good upper body work out and allows for crusing when you don't feel like pumping the board. Also helps on slight inclines so you don't have to push as much.
Fun but watch out if you hit the stick to the wheels. I was thrown when that happened and now pay attention so I dont do it again.
I had to laugh at his photos with the dog. I was breaking in a new set of wheels on the street that I live on and about 1.5 blocks from home I hear panting and see that my dog took off after me and was chasing me.

Kenny,
Went to Strawberry Fields today in Central Park, seeing all the young kids dance around to Beatles songs made me wish that I was hanging with Ryder. I miss you guys a lot. Hope the healing is going well with your foot and you are ready in time for Turtle Bay. I have interviews all week in the city and on Long Island, I am working an extremely helpful agency now, so I hope to have a job by the start of December. Tell Ryder I miss him a ton!!! Love you all!

Seegs,
Here is my new board that I am having shipped to the North SHore. I am going to keep it at Matt's house. Its a 8'6", but its 3 1/2' thick so it will float really well. I am stoked.
The foot today. Looks a lot better than last time. I think it will look even better than it did. The docs did not give good instructions last time on wound care.

Seeger,
The surgery went well. No pain. I am still in a cast, letting the wound heal up. They made me stay in 15 days this time, since I got it infected last time around.
Turtle Bay is booked for Thanksgiving this year. We will watch the Sunset Beach leg of the Van's Triple Crown.
You dont owe us NOTHING. I was stoked to give you the taste of the North Shore, but you were the one that got us in to the Victory party with Andy Irons and all the local bros!!! That was sick!!!
Ryder is doing well and ask about you from time to time. We will be at Turtle Bay every December for the next 7 years. See you there some day.
I am shipping my board out and keeping it at Matt's on the north shore.
Time to get back on the couch. Let's get together some time this winter.

Hi Kenny, I read ur getting the metal out, just wanted to wish u and the fam the best. Im back in st.Louis going to study video editing in hopes to some day travel and document surfing and other stuff. I had a great time hanging with Rider on the north shore and feel in debt to u and Robin. Dude I was charging waves before i left, I wish u could have seen. I truely have a love affair for the ocean, she so sweet to me, and spanks me hard when I need it. I never got barreled but I pulled some mean cutbacks and floaters. stand up paddle is the rad,so many more waves to catch. shoots
