Michael,

Have the international subscriptions gone out too? I'm sure mine will take a bit more time than Wednesday to get to the Middle East.

calendars....
On 11/17/2003 michael brooke wrote in from (209.29.nnn.nnn)

Excellent question Brady.

There are 9000 calendars arriving in California today. They will be shipped out by a number of suppliers to shops (dregs, sector, madrid, abec 11, bulldog, solid skate, mile high skates and host of other companies will be sending out mags to select shops.)

You will only be able to get these calendars 3 ways:

1) if you arrive at one of the lucky shops that get shipped a few calendars

2) you subscribe to concrete wave - I included one with this new issue

3) you visit roundwall.net and order one up directly.

that's it...when they are gone, they are gone and believe me, THIS CALENDAR WILL MAKE YOUR DRAW DROP!!

to see it on line visit roundwall.net

tell Billy Runaway what you think...he's put a huge effort into it. Jim Goodrich must be congratulated as well...afterall, he is the one who took these BRILLIANT photos.

Bathroom Reading..
On 11/13/2003 Lenny wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

The Great American Bathroom Book is a must-have... It's a collection of great novels, plays, short stories, biographies and a bunch of other stuff all condensed up in single-sitting sized summaries (yes, I was going for the alliteration). Get it, then go get a bunch of extra spicy buffalo wings and you're set for the evening!!!!

Adenomatous Polyps of the Colon (Hardback Book)
This will allow you to better understand what comes out of you. Just think you can now examine your stools for those pesky critters..
Here is a list of the Names and Descriptions
of the 12 Most Common Parasites Found in Stools:

Tapeworms: - fish tapeworm, beef tapeworm,
and pork tapeworm. Obtained from eating raw or undercooked, infected meat. Adult worms can reach a length of more than 15 feet. Pork tapeworms can enter the brain and cause seizures. Fish tapeworms can produce over one million eggs per day. It can grow up to 33 feet in length. This worm is wide and one half to one inch long, and is usually white/gray in color.
White worms: They come in all sizes from tiny pinworms to those that look like spaghetti or angel hair pasta.
Red worms: These look just like earthworms. They exude from the colon wrapped in balls. They reach up to 6 inches in length.
Inch worms: These are thick (pencil size), black and bumpy and about 2 inches long.
Black worms: These are 1 - 12 inches in length and leave the colon wrapped in "yellow acid water" mixed together. They nest deep, impacted in the colon wall.
Pinworms: Tiny parasites that wiggle out about 3/4" long and thicker than white worms.
Hookworms: Curved about 6" long, and grayish. Infestation is as high as 50% worldwide. Hookworms grip the intestinal wall and suck blood.
"Little Fish": About 1/2" long, these are fish-type parasites with heads and tails, and they swim out of the colon in schools.
Threadworms: Cream-colored parasites as thin as a thread. They often come out by the hundreds.
"Fuzz Balls": Round parasites with fur-like growth on them. About 1/4-3/4" in diameter, yellow in color.
"Spiders": Look like a spider and are colored brown, often 1" long.
"Stickpin Worms": One inch long and a head like a pea, perfectly round. Small ones are white, adults are black.

JAY SMITH COVER ISSUE!!!!!!!!
On 11/12/2003 Davebuilt wrote in from (66.75.nnn.nnn)

Hey Michael-

I heard that the new mag with Jay on the cover is out-how about getting us some mags so that we don't have to hear about how cool it is from everyone else before we get ours. We are very stoked about this issue, and we worked our asses off to get the shots-it was during those sessions with ace-veteran photog Ted Terrebonne that Jay made his first extended laybacks in over 20 years at the Vans 12 foot combi! Quite an awesome accomplishment. Jay is very stoked and so am I. Thanks. Dave

slalom and other comments
On 11/11/2003 michael brooke wrote in from (209.29.nnn.nnn)

Ok, promise you, we will have more slalom
this issue it's 4 pages

as for ads on cars and razors etc. No, I will not let them in. my business model calls for 100% skateboarding ads.

the feedback you are giving is most appreciated. This is a pretty crazy time for me...our 8th issue arrives tomorrow and then the envelope feeding party begins!

Once you see the issue, I would very much like to hear back from you all on what you liked and what you think needs improvement.

As always, we welcome submissions...new products to events...the deadline is December 1st

cheers
michael

surfers journal
On 11/11/2003 gavin wrote in from (195.194.nnn.nnn)

high quality production (i.e the pysical magazine) is easy to attain, you just pay! but what really sets surfers journal apart from anything else (and the reason i pay $65 UK delivery for five issues) is the quality of the editorial. not only well written and varied (what other surf mag does a feature on an architect who creates ultimate surf houses?), but also the features have the right amount of depth for an intelligent, informed mature readership. philosophy and technicality, its all in there. i'd like to see CW reflect the same.

I agree in a skate mag. ads are important, if the they're skateboard ads. Hey we're gear guys. looking at ads is half the fun. More slalom
I mailed Longboard Mag. (surf mag.) last year and said if the continue to run ads for razors and car dealers i would let them keep their rag. Ive subscribed from day one. I wouldnt wipe my ass w/ surfing mag or surfer for that matter. More slalom.
I dont read or look at skate mags other than yours and Juice w/ I can find it. More slalom.
Thanks and keep up the AWESOME WORK. I presonaly would pay more for a quality mag. BTW More slalom.
