To make this topic skate related, where the Simpsons has one up on Family Guy is that Bart skates, while Chris, Meg and Stewy don't...

Ren and Stimpy have one thing the others do not have, grossness, the everyday unmentionables that we all face (nose goblins, earwax, kitty litter, close up of big warty pimplefaces, etc.) They capture life in a far closer aspect to what we as human beings deal with daily (and we as small children pondered and wondered at the wonders of nose goblins, earwax, and other such "icky" stuff) Besides, you know you wanted to laugh when the fat ugly lady in the burning highrise wanted to throw her horse, and her hippo out to ren and stimpy the firedogs waiting below. By the way, simpsons wail on family guy, because you can watch the simpsons with your kids without a whole lot of explaining what certain things mean, or even worse... lying to them because they are too young to know.

Hmm... tough call. Although I've been a Simpsons fan since they were merely a comic strip in a local magazine in the mid '80s (Uncle Jam), I AM slowly warming up to the comedy logic of The Family Guy. At first, I wasn't understanding Peter and the humor, but Stewy(sp?) and Brian had my attention from the start. Overall, I'll always favor The Simpsons more. I hope that show never leaves the airwaves. It's been going strong since the late '80s on television. I don't care for watching television very much... but I DO make time for those two shows. Homer Simpson is my role model and the cat that leads a fairly stress free existence. Same goes to Stimpy from Ren & Stimpy fame. Another genius cartoon. If the world were made up of those two characters, we'd be living in a better place. No war, gangs, and any other negative stuff.
Viva Homer J. Simpson!

If my memory serves me correctly, Hawkeye and the gang even engaged in some Korean war-era longboarding of sorts--gurney races around the compound!! It is truly sweet to see one of the all-time best TV shows connected to the all-time best lifestyle activity--boarding, in all its' forms!

OK, got my first one so far. had my photo taken with Gary Sinese (LT. Dan from Forrest Gump. He now stars in CSI.) I didn't have any bumper stickers, so we just held up the latest issue of CCW between us. Next volunteer?

The Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator was originally developed by a Pentecostal snake handler.
I know that for a fact. I read it on the Internet.

Thanks Dude. I will let you know.
And as for the the cartoon....if creationists are kooks then I suspect intelligent design advocates would fall into that category as well.....People that know me know I don't push my particular faith beliefs on others but do try to live what I believe. Guess that makes me a kook.... Been called worse.

Marion, that sounds awesome! Simply post up and/or e-mail me whenever you're heading out here. I'm sure that you'll be able to stay near or with a few of us. The Pump Station is a fast and killer hill. You'll be quite stoked on it.

WT, happy to let you go nuts with the posts...you do realize that this forum seems to attract a lot of attention and thankfully little grief due to the fact that we keep it fresh and fun...well, most of the time...
my forum is your forum...
as for skate freak - mea culpa...for me it's about the smoothest carves I can get..and nothing is smoother than a flexy board with super soft wheels and wonderfully responsive trucks carving the hell out of a bowl
sure, you can't kickturn, but I am telling you, it freakin' rocks.
