Wow, great weather again! Hopefully it will be nice next Friday Evening. Small Planet, the surf shop in Hove are having an evening jam on some lovely smooth tarmac on Hove seafront, Friday, 6.30 onwards. Meet at the shop or on the prom. Should be a bit of fun.

Shame I missed the mustud demo day, but had a great day at Harrow yesterday, blazing sun and blazing session in the freshly blue painted and re-surfaced pool, Steve Bailey (Consolidated pro) arrived and ripped the place apart - frontside slash grinds in the half pipe sent chunks of concrete flying and got the whole floor shaking, inverts and stylin' smith grinds in the pool and high speed stand up grinds to fakie like this:
So, where are folks today? I'm going to head to Hyde Park in a while to try and avoid bikers, bladers and strollers and perhaps the odd cone, see you there?

Hyde Park Meet

Had a great meet at Hyde park today. The Mustud crew turned up with a wide variety of rides, and a few newbies had a good go at pushing, turning and stopping. Smiles all round. As soon as I put down the cones two motorcycle cops came along. One said "those cones are too close together" than his partner did the slalom on the bike. Later a cop in a van challanged me to a race! Best thing of the day for me was whwne a guy came up with his family and chatted, asked for a go....he was none other than UK skate legend MArc Sinclair, ex Benjy and Dogtown team rider. He ran the cones, style city, and seemed to be enjoying himself. A natural skater. Anyway, here's a shot I lifted from oldskaters.com, of Marc at Marina Del Ray....

Chris, folks,
I've been very lazy since Brands Hatch and have forgotten to send the money I collected from the race on to Clingfilm.
I'm writing out a cheque as we speak, and will pass that on with the race results, and who paid what, who didn't pay, who paid for membership, asap.
Sorry Chris. Just slipped my mind.
BTW - On monday morning, after the drive from Cornwall, my lower back seized up. Extremely painful. I'm having problems walking. Don't slalom then drive!

The Greenwich Crew are fine, and still going strong, just loving it, everyone who has been skating ther has improved so much and its real good to see, with regard to the police and all that stuff, i think as long as we keep doing what we are doing we should be fine. Until next week people.

I'm stoked to hear the Greenwich crew is still fine; I've had such a flood of work and family commitments that I've missed out for weeks & weeks now. I'm also glad there is someone older than me skating there now! Re: the banning issue, the chief cop at GW told me that skateboarding is in fact banned in all royal parks, and has been for years. The enforcement of this regulation is however, left to the discretion of the Park Police.

FCR Series

In an effort to raise the east coast/international participation in the FCR World Slalom Championships, we have decided to try something that has been suggested many times by racers on the message board. FCR will be staging a race at Northstar-Lake Tahoe on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of September. This will allow east coast/international racers to schedule a 2 week trip to the west coast and attend both races. It will also give the races a good warm-up opportunity for our format before the World Championships.
