Need recommendations between...

These 2 options for a snowboard-style carving machine (even though I've never snowboarded before!):

Kustom Skateboards Lengthwise
http://www.kustomskateboards.com/designs.php

Original Skateboards Freestyle 43
http://www.originalskateboards.com/longboard_completes.shtml

I have lots of pool experience, but not a whole lot of carving, soulriding, etc.

Any help will be appreciated!

skateboard CAD

Hey, anybody out there have a decent CAD drawing of the underside and side view of a "new school" skateboard? Black and white line drawing including wheels and trucks... about 8" 11". Suitable for use in a Patent application form. I'm willing to pay for it... let me know.

I practically threw up my Diet Coke into my monitor. Somebody took a flowerpot plant stand and is marketing it as a skateboard.

Electric boards
On 2/19/2004 Dave H. wrote in from (24.13.nnn.nnn)

What I want to know is: Why is this so hard to do? Exkate has a nice one but it's way too heavy and it has an astronomical price Why can't someone do a NIMh board with a remote for under $500? Something that doesn't seem to stand 15 inches off the ground like the Scorpion or go about 12 feet before needing recharging like that e-board. Hey RollRolls people, I thought you were going to tuck some batteries underneath the black carbon board? Anybody else out there want to take up the challenge? How about 0-20 mph, braking of some sort and under 35 pounds. Let's say 20mile range. O.K?

Deck for Tuo
On 2/13/2004 Steve in AZ wrote in from (192.175.nnn.nnn)

Tuo, you don't have a Carver or a Speedboard!

Get yourself a Pintail, ~40-48" in length, either flat or cambered with a little bit of flex. Run the front truck flat, and give the rear truck a MILD wedge de-tune. Make sure you don't get any wheelbite and CARVE!!

LMK if you need a deck like this.

I have a extra pair of randal 180s with some soft flashbacks lying around my house. I have got a pretty nice quiver at the moment. A slalom board, 45" slider, oldschool ditch/park board, and a 40" newschool shape board. does anyone have any sugestions on whattype of deck i should get?
thanks

trucks and wheels for hypercarve 47"/gravity
On 2/13/2004 Bas de Vries wrote in from (195.121.nnn.nnn)

G-flo, thank you for the info, I'll check it out!

I have another question. I also have a gravity hypercarve 47". It is a great board, but I was wondering which trucks and wheels make this board a great cruise and downhill board?

Please let me know

Greetz,

Bas

Surf feel
On 2/12/2004 g-flo wrote in from (207.14.nnn.nnn)

The Cosmic 2 is my favorite board for all around cruising. Its got good flex and nice pop. The kick tail is nice for handling the board although its flexy nature is not good for parks or kick turns. The Randal 150s matchup perfectly. I would recomend the Abec 11 Flashback over the Kryps. They roll much better. I don't know how much 88 kg is but I weigh 150 lbs and the deck is fine. Carvalot has one and he weighs about 180lbs and its good for him as well. Buy it, you like it.

surffeel/soulride
On 2/11/2004 Bas de Vries wrote in from (195.121.nnn.nnn)

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your tips on my question concerning the flowrider set. I will check it out. Another question, which set up would you people choose for flatland cruising? I was thinking, as I am a surfer as well, of checking the Cosmic 2 (sector9) in combination with Randall II's 150 and Kryptonic wheels. Question is; which Kryp-wheels and which bearings?
Last but not least; I am about 88 kgs, is that cool for a Cosmic II?

Please, share your knowledge!

Thank you very much

Greetz,

Bas

Hey. Im gonna do some DHracing this summer. Ive got Randal II 180s , worried that they cant handle the high speed. Is it wise to use angled risers to decrease the 50°angle to a 35°angle? or should I just buy the DH randals? Is it a good or bad idea to put a RII hanger on a randalDH base? Thanx for the info. :)

Going with the Flow-board
On 1/31/2004 Dave H. wrote in from (24.13.nnn.nnn)

Mansero search the list - there are a number of posts on flowboards. The downside is that it is not a good board for cruising on flat ground. The upside it carves really really well on hills.

A year ago I met one of the owners of flowlab in Italy. Only now have I a desire to get one of these boards. Who can give me an unbiased opinion about these boards? keep in mind, i Have ridden longboards for the last 3 years but have been thouroughly impressed with how the flowboards turn. what are the downsides of such an invention?
thank you,
