Hey Mia and Steph, it was great riding with you yesterday. Mia, you rip on the downhill runs and through cones, Claude has taught you well. Steph, you improved so much yesterday, and you had the biggest smile on your face all day. Rob, great job getting things going. Now we can see who can get the most slalom convertees in our areas. Were doing pretty well so far. And I ot to try some gumballs yesterday...sweet. Thanks to all who came out. Lets make this more regular.

As for me i hope i get to come out to TO at least one more time before it snows. It would be great if you guys came to ottawa one weekend, or even montreal,my house is your hotel, you are welcome to stay anytime. (But i like skating in ottawa better)
Thanks so much for everything

yes I would like to slalom also. I can email my cell number to you. I have a Landy Chief and bought a Kebbek Hairpin that I have questions about. Is Pierre their rep? I wrote Jim who told me he would be away and wrote Pierre with no response. I am looking for a shorter slalom board: I think my Chief is 40 inches. All I can find around here are Sector9 at Top/World. Any suggestions guys?

Paul! I may be interested in giving downhill a whirl when I get back from Morro Bay.

If you are interested in some Slalom we have been running 2 or 3 times a week in Ottawa for the last little while. There is a chance that some of the folks from Toronto may make a trip here before the snow flies.

If we can get Pierre to come down with Mia and some of the boys we could have quite a good session. Maybe that's what it would take to wake up some of the Longboarders here in Ottawa.

At least one of the shops is now carrying Gravity. If they follow up and bring in some Bozi's and Landy's it would be great.

We could likely set-up a weekend session to include some Slalom and Downhill. I'm sure there are even some great spots in the Hills for some Super GS and regular Slalom runs.

the Gatineau hills are waiting. One mile curving downhill all the way! anyone listening? If not you out there Chewy?
I have great video of someone riding Tremblant- he goes under that bridge on the small chairlift near the parking lot. Looks like a good run. Can't wait to get there. Check your speed lately? I use a gps: works great. Pocket it and check it later. Up to 55 km/hr and looking for better protection. I saw something by Grit. Anyone use it?. Its Canadian.

Stefan,

I am a rider out of Cambridge. Let me know the next time you are up for Luge runs. I would like to come down and join the fun. It seems that Doug Ecob wrecked his luge, so there is very few people to ride with out this way. Let me know.

Cheers,

Paul

Toronto Longboard/Slalom Session
On 9/18/2003 Rob wrote in from (209.250.nnn.nnn)

To all Toronto/GTA skaters

We are planning to have a session this Sunday morning that will involve both longboarding and slalom. We have a guest in town from Ottawa, Mia and her girlfriend Steph, who will be joining us.

The plan is to meet at Seneca College Parking Lot(Don Mills & Finch)at 9:00 AM. The parking lot is easily accessed off Don Mills Road, just north of Finch. From there we can head out to the hills for a longboarding session. For those who have been out before the hills will involve Snowcrest and the neighbouring hills.

The second part of the session will be slalom at Seneca College's parking lot. This could involve a 100 cone slalom course (Civ's idea), dual slalom and longboard slalom.

This is an open invitation to anyone who wants to join in, new and old alike, as well as an opportunity for riders to try/learn slalom and to have an excellent longboarding session.

Please feel free to contact me directly or post here if you are interested in joining in.

Come one, come all - hopefully the hurricane weather will be long gone.

Any other suggestions - feel free to post them.

Rob

Im up for some riding this weekend, slalom or downhill, whatever. An am session would be good. Sounds like Rob is getting something together on the slalom end of things, but we both do downhill stuff as well. And Jay, lets ride this week call me. 905-627-4496 ask for Mike. Hey Rob....do me a favour and let me know if you get a session
together for Mia this wknd. I haven`t been out since our mega session
in Burlington back in July.......remember we had about 25 riders.....awesome day!
It seems every time there`s something going on I`ve got my kids for the wknd and I`m
getting severely "ansy".
Let me know as I don`t have them this wknd and maybe my new Gumballs & biltins will
have arrived. If we see any of the hurricane we`ll be screwed though.

Mia In Toronto
On 9/17/2003 Rob wrote in from (209.250.nnn.nnn)

Is this the Mia who has been training slalom with Claude?

I am based in Toronto and ride both longboards (Bozi) and slalom and would be happy to try to arrange a session over the weekend for the two of you. There is a great core group of riders based in the city.

Where in Toronto are your staying?
When were you thinking of trying to get out?
What type of riding are the two of you interested in doing?

Feel free to e-mail me directly and we can hopefully pull a session together for you.

Rob
