Hi, I've seen a few posts for a good cruising deck. I have a unique offering that I believe is without equal. I have virtually eliminated all speed wobble by lowering the deck closer to the ground. My deck aligns the balls of your feet with the pivots in your trucks which is optimal for control. In fact it feels like it is part of your own feet. You can check it out at krackedskulls.com

I mostly ride around in the ole driveway & hit the ramp with my son, but really starting to dig goin' downhill in the neighborhood. Want something that's stable & smooth to just enjoy the ride- not looking to slide or whole bunch of carving- just want to go fast & not get the wobs- I'm 43 & about 190 lbs. My curent set up is a reissue G&S warptail 2, reissue Tracker fultracks & 65 mm Abec 11 no skoolz. Gets a little squirlly at full tilt ( or what is full tilt for me!)...Thx- Steve

The hottest new skate company in Norther California is now up and cruizing, looking for dedicated skaters for customers. Ive been shaping boards for 10 years and finally decided to start selling them. CARPE DIEM SKATES is the newest, sickest, best quality skate company ull find. We build boards long and short, custom shapes and custom designs. No board is the same.. except they all come equipt with Randall 180's (top of the line trucks), ABEC 7/ Bone Swiss bearings, and a variety of the best wheels (kryptonics, ABECs, Big Reds, etc). Mike, check out the Drop Speed complete from Milehighskates.com. I have the Holey trucks that come with that setup - they-re excellent trucks that are extremely versitile. I have a Spooky from Lushlongboards (also with drop-through mounting). It's my favorite deck in the world. Milehigh also has a comple with that deck that comes standard with Holey trucks and Speed Vents. I guarantee that either of those will be furiously fasy, stable, and agile.

dnyce, does your setup squeek when the deck is in motion, or just when you turn the trucks? If it only squeeks while the wheels are revolving, then the bearings are the only option. If it is when you are carving, then it could either be the bushings or more likely the pivot cup. If it is the pivot, a very small amount of white lithium grease will work like a charm. If it's the bushings, either get new ones or just screw it and keep riding.

dnyce, my decks squeak a lot too...does it affect your ride or just destroy the possibility of going on a ninja skate mission? lol
do you have risers under your trucks? have you changed the bushings in your trucks? maybe instead of fighting the noise, you should add a horn you could make go HONK! or Ah-WOO-ga with the tap of your foot...or, even better, skate something that causes you to clamp down so hard in your underwear you don't notice it or care lol

I always wanted a longboard, and now that I have one I am stoked! If anyone could provide me a few pointers on technique and such I would appreciate it. And to all you other beginers out there, 2 things, 1 A helmet might be a good Idea, 2 Never take a hill on your first day. I am now the proud owner of 4 staples in the cranium and an outrageous hospital bill...and a sweet longboard!

hi im looking for some new wheels. i like to slide alot, but i also like to have control while going at high speeds. i want a wheel thats not so hard that i'll drift alot and lose control turning, but i also dont want a wheel so soft that it will just shave down after a month. i also dont want a wheel that is too big because i dont like drop boards and it would make my board too high off the ground. i have 70s flashbacks 78a and they lasted me the summer, but now its shaped like a cone going inwards. im afraid its gonna bend the axel. ive heard sector 9's last a while, and i also heard that they dont so idk. im never on this site so contact me on my email: timthecarnie@aol.com

Sealed bearings

Sealed bearings can be cleaned but would have to be neglected in order for that to be a necessity. Bearings do not need a sheild from contaminants on the side that will be facing the inner core of a wheel. You just have to butcher the seals off of one side of each bearing. Usually a small nail or a set of needle-nose pliers will be small and strong enough to either tear into or pinch into a seal and tear it off. Honestly, it's not important to have seals on both sides of a bearing. Just like Biltin bearings - they only have sheilds on the outer-facing side of each bearing and these are some of the finest bearings I've used. If your bearings are good quality and you would like to salvage them, just remove one seal, clean, and relube them.
