there it is...you get 100 9" cones (bases need to be trimmed of course) with 4 mesh storage bags for the cones all for $99.
That is the BEST deal I've seen yet on the web for cones.

The Alien Workshop Zip Tool is the smallest i've seen and the only tool I feel safe carrying in a pocket while skating. It's a bit of a pain for actually fitting trucks (though it is just about possible) but fine for wheel swapping or truck adjustment. It even has 'lugs' that protect your bearing shields from the wheelnut wrench and can be used to push bearings into stiff cores.

The 'Sixpac' is THE tool kit to own. It comes with a small screwdriver set,with slot,phillips,and an allen head key,plus the Wrench with 3/8",1/2",and 9/16" sockets that are Deep enough to put your Flashbacks on with,or tighten your modified trucks kingpin with. Came with a nifty padded tool pouch,too. Ozzie has them,minus the Pouch,but it's still good stuff. Mine survived ten years of skating(and I change up wheels/bushings often!)here in Oregon's mountains.Get 'em while you can.

My favorite portable tool is the Unit tool. Sockets aren't too deep, but they grab the nuts tight and don't slip. The snap-in driver is handy as well, but the allen part strips kinda easy. Over all, the Unit tool is the most lightweight and straightforward skate tool I've owned.

The oil in peanut butter disintegrates the gum making it an easy job for removal. Hit it with a stiff brush after a few hours (unless your dog gets to it first)...

I remember an ad in the back of Thrasher in '90 or so with a light that seemed to click onto the pivot area like a coper clicks onto the hanger, at least that's how I remember it. My dad said I should get one for safety, but wouldn't give me the dough to get one, so I filed it away next to "helmet" in the "buy one when I've got money to burn" folder. How about one of those Petzl LED head lamps wrapped around the truck? Small and bright!
And, as far as my experience tells me, gum = griptape death. I even tried freezing it off with some crazy "gum remover" I used when I was a custodian, but you still need to scrape it off, and how do you do that while leaving the grip crystals? It's like trying to get the fibreglass out of the epoxy. Good luck.

I think the idea of putting the light inside of a riser is a good one, but I think an even better idea would involve a light that kind of adjustably "wraps" around the truck, and is fastened down by the same 4 mounting-bolts that hold the trucks to the board. This way the light could be bigger, perhaps halogen like a bike-light, and hold more batteries. Anyway, i have a question of my own:
does anyone know of any good solutions that work on gum that gets on griptape? I tried putting goof-off on my griptape (what a mistake.) It "bleached" the griptape white on all areas that it touched the board. Now i gotta get new griptape!

A while ago several people told me they wer interested in stickers. I found a vendor, and I have a price for the rough numbers I got from my first testing.
.25 cents per sticker, plus shipping. That is for 3.5" circles with lettering/design. I was thinking of either red backing with black design, black with red or white, or white with black. Seemed like the best contrast for the size.
If you are seriously interested, shoot me an email and we can arrange it from there. I'm poor, so I'll have to collect money before I place the order so as not to get stuck with an extra few hundred homeless stickers
Let me know, I have some cones to lable =)

I'm still not quite sure what the point of the flip-flop thing is. $3.50 flip-flops at old navy still cost more than the $1.97 leather gardening gloves I bought at walmart. Skip the extra pieces and glue the plastic directly onto the gloves, right? I donno, maybe I'm missing something... later.

while the sandals might be a good idea, they will not provide enough protection when sliding. you definetly want a full leather glove, with thick leather on the wrists and fingers.
i know i've cut up my fingers a few times, one time that i still have a scar from from wearing fingerless sliding gloves.

Okay bear in mind I have not tried this yet, but I may have a quick easy solution for sliding gloves.
Flip Flops, sandals or Slaps as they call them. I picked up a cheap pair for 3bucks at an army navy store. Not the super cheap flimsy ones with a rubber foot strap. But the ones with a thick sole and nylon foot straps. Just happend to slide my hand into one and it fit perfectly. I figure if you sand down the bottom and cut out some plastic and glue it on, that it could work great. Better yet use velcro or some bolts.
Of course you cannot bend your hand with them on, but they seem pretty cool. Let me know if anyone tries it.

my gloves are leather riggers gloves and attaching da chopping board was a pain so what i did was cut 5 diamond shaped holes in the palm about half inch apart....i took a piece of chopping board about palm size and carved it with a rasp until it was an ergonomic fit (moulded around the palm) and was only about 5mm thick...this was to be the inner(inside the glove)next i cut a piece of board for the actual slider (outside the glove)i heated this on an outdoor camping stove (the fumes are evil)until the slider surface was melted and runny...with the ergonomic inside inserted inthe glove i pressed the outside runny board to the glove...the plastic runs through the holes in the glove and welds to the inner giving a fully "glued" slider that when you do slide stays on with the ergonomic inner fully supporting the hand and arm...more comfort and more finger movement.
