I just have to say that I learned how to drop in about a week ago. Now, for some of you, this may be no big deal, but for me, at 36 years old and 2 years of balking (and slamming occassionally) I'm up to just over 4 feet of height in just 2 sessions at my buddy's ramp (www.northwestskater.com, click on Jeff's new ramp link). He's devised a little platform that he screws in at different heights. So starting at 1 foot helped me get over the fear factor. Wa-hoooooooo! :)

First, HAWAII was insane....all disciplines, all ripping, all 4 fun, ALL GIRLS..no $ meant no ill-will.......the cement pool was fast, knarly and super sick to surf/tech or kill yourself on! I didn't even surf the NorthShore..what?????? hehehehehe
Second, Mary-Beth/Claude, we're definately going to be in town during the ASR. When you arrive, please call ASAP so we can set some YMCA Pool and downhill time to PLAY LOTS and of course give you a nice home cooked meal!
Lastly, getting a female club/team together takes 1 person to organize. Maybe ask PattySegovia of the AllGirlSkateJam for some insights, BUT as a mom, your e-mail address is offensive "stoner_chick_4201411@yahoo.com". "Skate bowls, don't smoke them" or at least be kool enough to not shout-out implied drug addiction/encouragement others follow a potential path of destruction. PS Sasha's SLFW interview/photos are phat and she's given a feature AND photo gallery of me up-n-running. CHECK IT OUT! GIRLZ RULE! Happy new year and may we be "board" often in 2005!

I'm jealous you're down south today. I SO wanted to head down for that, but I just didn't have the energy after so many trips the last few weeks. You should do the high jump. It's pretty fun on a longboard.
I actually made it to the Scotts Valley park last sat morn. We got there at 8 and left by 9. The wind was blowing so hard and I was so freekin freezing, I couldn't skate any more. It wasn't a planned trip, so sorry I didn't get a hold of you ahead of time.
Hope you have a great time today and good luck!!!

Have fun racing in SB today. I'm skating the park with Hut instead. I'm having fun reliving my park days. Tell your mom hi. When you get up this way during the holidays we can skate park or slalom together. Hi Sasha great article! Isabelle I'm jealous your off skating in Hawaii today at the AGSJ. Hope you have a great one too. Keep skating.

Hey Keli, It was great to see you out at JPL! Keep skating and it will get easier and easier, as we could tell every time you went down the hill you looked more relaxed. I'm proud of you. Your skating has really matured this year. You're relaxing and using some new power, especially in cyber. Oh yeah, and Cliff said to ask your mom for sliding gloves. I've been wearing them, and they are protective, but they're also alot of fun! Lynn

Sasha, or any other SF/Berkeley locs. I'm going to be up there this weekend. Have nothing to do Friday but skate, hopefully near South SF (vans?), Saturday probably Berkeley. Only bringing my park/slide board, no slalom unless I borrow. Call my cell to session 619-246-3371. No internet after now. LYnn

Attn Tracey and Sasha.
I live in Petaluma, well known for the poor roads. Much to my enjoyment, many of the roads are being repaved, and they are sweet! Buttery smooth, no serious obstacles and very little traffic. There is also various grades from mild to wild depending on the type of session you are after. I have even set up slalom cones down the middle of my favorite road and none of the neighbors minded. My best skate friends have recently moved away leaving me with no locals to go play with. I would love some company for future sessions of any kind. I skate most all styles but love downhill sliding/carving the best when not at the parks. E-mail me at roundwallrider@yahoo.com for more info on exact whereabouts of many great spots.

Hola Judy....Missing skating with you and I've been only staying local to SD due to time/cash constraints, BUT have been doing a lot of downhill, pool skating and surfing to keep myself healthy - lots of local contests keep me plenty busy. STOKED you're still the DownhillQueen; YOU RIP as always. Hope to see you soon and all that good stuff. Hugs, Isabelle et famile.
