For the dots at that spot, you need a wheelbase of 19" or less. My normal tight board has a wheelbase of 17.5". Measure between the holes on the truck baseplates that are toward the middle of the deck. I'll probably be at the spot tomorow or Thursday after work with boards you can check out, or maybe sometime on the weekend.

i have a loaded pintail w/ randal 150s and 3dm avalia loaded fish w/ 180s and abec 11 strikers loaded vanguard flex 5 w/ randal 180s and kryptonics vision pin/cruiser w/ the HUGE independant trucks and kryptoncs vision beater board walking board w/randals and no namers and a sector nine flexy carver w/ randal 180s and sector nine wheels
a carve board stick, with a broken back truck, but it still rides fine
if any one wants to ride w/ me you can ride any of the boards you like they all have ceramic bearings (vxb bearings, based off of ebay, awsome price and awsome bearing)

Hey Sam. I live in Simi Valley. Do you know where that is? About 45 minutes away from Santa Monica. What kind of longboarding do you do? I am 14 and looking for a skating buddie.

Nic,
I push mongo, cuz I don't know any better. I can push regular too, but mongo is way more natural for me. It works fine. I even footbrake mongo, no problem, just have to take a little moment to shuffle the deck foot more towards the center.
Chaput has some info on drop-through's: http://chrischaput.com/speedboarding/index.html I have one of his drop-through decks and it rocks for speed.
Yeh, the spot is off 22nd. We're skating there for sure early next week. I'll post when.
Capitol, oh yeah, fantasy road. 25th below the fire station is pretty nice too.

Nic, still alive here.
Put together a slalom rig if you don't already have one. I have a loaner you can use too. I'll post the time and location of an upcoming session so you can be there. Probably a weekday evening, 6-ish, or a weekend, noonish. Make sure and read down all the posts when you come back here to check.
Our main spot these days is down by the harbor, a place you've probably seen a thousand times, super fun.

some of the world's top pro skaters created an organization whose primary mission is to take female skating EQUAL to the level of men in the pro venues AND PAY.....
did you know that top male vert skaters can get over $50,000 for a first place in the X-Games and females get $2000 - that's 5%...WHAT THE F$#^$#^!!!
get pissed, get involved, get motivated to CHANGE this faulty system.

It was a great pleasure to teach Lauren Gordon, Dylan Gordon and Kelly Benko to slide this past weekend! They are all sliding now and with a little polish, they will be ripping any hill they choose.
Special note, Dylan not only learned to slide right away, but he also learned a heel-side 360. This was his first day of sliding. Who knows what he will be doing by the next time I see him? Can you say natural?
Thanks, Cliff Coleman
