Marion, Maybe I'm way off here but I'll say it just in case I'm correct and incase you and others did'nt catch it - I think "Mark J" is the parent of "drinker" and has put the smackdown on his kid/kids. I think a similar episode of "old skater bashing" might have been made before by someone's kids on another forum(Concrete Wave with MB?) and afterward their parent(s) did what Mark J is doing(maybe it was Mark J's kid/kids before as well?).
Anyhow, if there's one good thing that has come out of all of this, is that when we click onto this forum, we don't have to get scared looking at Richy's threatening demeanor right away.

I want to make clear that I felt the comments about me that were made I found humorous because I have learned through mistakes and other situations that reacting negatively and getting all angry only gives the "attackers" exactly what they are looking for: To Bring me down to their level. Funny how hiding behind a computer screen and keyboard empowers so many people to act like that.
HOWEVER, I must say that personal attacks that have been leveled at Cat and others that were crude, insensitive and hurtful, are just plain wrong and were not remotely funny. Someone used to post the line :Walk like a human. Well, I would like to modify that line to read "Walk like a human who shows RESPECT to others".
Respect. You should try it some time. It use to mean something.

No apologies for me are needed. Mark, Thanks for all the support you have shown the DHB and other skate organizations. I thought the comments about me were hilarious. As far as Cat though, that's just wrong. We are all in this sport because we love it and we all approach it different ways and with different styles. I am all about free speech and stating one's beliefs and thoughts but I am also seriously NOT down with personal attacks.
Keep sharing the stoke man. Mark you are way cool and I wish I could be as cool as you..and I mean it!
On a different note, it just hit me that I have been officially a Master 45+ since December! Cool...now I am officially an old dude! Rock on with my bad self! Not As Cool As Hackett or Anyone Else For That Matter, Marion Karr Downhillbillies

Yeah that NCL dude was seriously lame. Thank goodness we got rid of him. If he had stayed around there might not have been as many jams, races, events, and stoke going on in North Carolina!!
It's cool though...next time I see him (in the mirror)I will make sure to let him know how much he is missed by his adoring fans.
Shutting up and going skating...oh yeah I just got back from a downhill and GS session...never mind.
Keep sending those cards and letters bro.

I'm sure glad not everyone likes the same thing. This would make for a very boring world.
Good or bad, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Peolple are very unique individuals. It is what it is. I am like I am. Marty is Marty, Kludy is Kludy, Lynn is Lynn..... and so on & so on & so on. I am not going to change, nor am I ever going to be quiet. It's not in MY nature. If I have something to say, believe me, I am going to say it. You can choose to agree or disagree, that's everyone's choice.
Last month, I got caught up in some spewing on this website, I won't do that again. It only made me look stupid & I'm the first to admit that. Never again. I'm not purposely a hurtful person.
BTW, today I get a memorial tattoo. My 21 year old assistant at work, and a very good friend, Maxx Wendell, lost his battle with cancer on Dec 6th 2007. In my 10+ years of getting tattoos, this by far will be the most special. 21 years old, what a waste.

Wow,
Well I guess I am not a newbie by any means so I can say what I want.
Comparing people by saying "be more like Lynn." is just plain stupid. People are what they are, so like them or not, hang with them or not, whatever.
But not having the balls to post that bulls#@! under your real name makes you a pussy AND a dick. (you see I cross gendered there since we don't know which you possess.) If you don't like someone, have the stones to call them out face to face. If not that just makes you as stated, a PUSSY AND A DICK.
Nuff said, bye ass#@!.

ahhh - then posting while liquored up is ok. good, then here we go.
you're right cat, you haven't been around long. especially to post as much ass kissing as you do. be a little more quiet please. tattooing yourself, the way you do for example when you're a newbie. be more humble like lynn.
we finally got rid of norhtcarolinalongboarder, the asskisser, with quotes like "you're the coolest hackett" and "i wish i was cool like you", but now we have cat to make us sick.
just skate and shut it - please.

Geez.....I have to stop posting on the contest calendar after Margaritas!
It's time to get back in shape for the upcoming season.... I do however, notice it's not quite as easy to run stairs like I used to! Is that age, or is it all in our heads?? :)
I'll enter the Masters when my hair starts turning blue and I start calling Zak sonny boy! I'm thinking that won't be anytime soon. Remember Marty, this is only my 2nd season... you old farts have been doing this since the stone-age!

Cat,
Saw your rant on the Nationls sign up about being 49 this year. I'm 48 this year and loving every minute of it. I have to tell you I am considering running the Masters Divison in Morro though. Losing to the kids all the time gets a bit tiring. Now I know how guys like Curtis Hesselgrave felt like at La Costa back in the day.
Age is a state of mind but Mother Nature can be a bitch.....

Greetings from the oldest skater in Montana! I was just wondering if anybody knows any old geezers in this state. I live in Billings (home of the WORST skatepark in MT) and there are 3 other guys here over the age of 40 (I'm 50!). I came here from Tampa, FL about 14 years ago. Big mistake, skating-wise. Its getting better now that there are some parks getting built, but sessions are few and far between. I'm going to Tuscon next week to excape the snow (and visit my parents) so maybe I can meet up with some old farts down there!

How would you like to buy a complete Gravity Mini Carve with Indy Trucks, Piaso Wheels and Khiro Hardwear for only $1.00? I thought you would.
For those attending Jonny Miller's race on Dec 16th, we will be holding a raffle for Kyndra Cox and her family. Raffle tickets will go on sale at 10:00 am in San Luis Obispo at the Arbors. Tickets will be $1.00 each, and you can purchase as many as you like. ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE COX FAMILY FOR HOSPITAL BILLS.
Others have stepped up to donate swag for the raffle. Chris Chaput donated wheels and Biltin Bearings. Isabelle Caudle, Norski, Jack & others have also stepped up with some great treasures to raffle off.
This event will be epic, so please don't miss it. There will be lots of surprises lurking around every corner! There is a definite rumor that Cliff Coleman, Jamie Hart, Lance "Danger" Folley and son, and more will be there. Better put your dancin' shoes on, cause we're goin' to town!! Even if you don't race, come on out and support a good cause. Be there or be square.
Many thanks to the skateboard community for stepping up in times of need!
Below are details for the race from Jack's Skateboarder's Journal:

Ohm - VT weighing in here, not Cali...but that is the way I remember it too. Rock Walk a real one-two movement, Cess more of a drift...but similar. We used to add a third part to the rock walk so you come out of it fakie...a "revert" to fakie on the way down - before it was called that I guess.

hc, I thinks there is a subtle difference in a Cess slide and a Rock Walk. Rock walk you just go straight up the wall and kick back your rear truck and roll back down the wall. A Cess slide you kick your back out and actually slide or drift backwards before heading back down the wall. I loved bothe of these moves, probably the Cess more. You could really drift the Cess backwards and grind backwards as well.
Any California historians see it different?
