z-maxi roller trucks
On 4/10/2007 Adam Cocchiaro wrote in from United States  (24.128.nnn.nnn)

This one is for anyone that may have an answer.
Where the hell did z-maxi roller downhill trucks go?
I used to be able to get them from latterdayskates skate shop in Quincy M.A.
I sold a setup that had a set on it thinking I could get more, and when I went to order them. I found that the domain name for the shop had been sold to some tampons, and their phone number doesn't work. Did they disapeer off the face of the earth or what.
these trucks were the best I've ever owned. I had a couple sets of both kinds and now I have none.
HELP! Please!!!

YO CHAPSTICK
On 2/16/2007 RATTSHIP PRICE wrote in from United States  (68.35.nnn.nnn)

hey chaput? you still around these parts? since your last post here was in October i'm not sure. i see you're signed up for the texas sizzler. are you acually coming? i thought you were still out due to shoulder sugery after what happened at maryhill.

you coming to the sizzler? i know the timeship crew is desperatly lacking any competition in the downhill race. the question is what will you have to come up with this time to keep up with me and ricker? foot fairing? a butt fairing? 8 wheels? better back support?

hope to see ya there!

grabbing or not?
On 2/5/2007 sam wrote in from United States  (68.193.nnn.nnn)

is this the race in germany you had once referred to about to grab or not to grab during a slide? http://www.abec11.com/images/ccgermany1.jpg , thin road.

does grabbing slow you down any faster than not or is it primarily to return the board to center faster?

Smile on you Adam...what a nice attitude you had!The translation is more than ok to be understandble!I had already understood, its all about angled risers!!!
But even, thanks for the translation...
Think ill buy randal 180..i have already angled risers and i have them setup up as a carving setup..will thin ends towards end of the board! When i build my DH model, just have to DEWEGED them...thanks for info!!!

inverta o ângulo do madrugador então é para trás, em direção à cauda

reverse the angle of the riser.. De-wedge..
so it is backwards towards the tail

sorry i did my best to translate, i doubt i did it right

dewedged
On 1/17/2007 Adam winston wrote in from Canada  (74.102.nnn.nnn)

risers come in different degrees ranging from 5 to 15 sometimes more...

if you POSITIVE wedge (+) you make the truck turn faster.. great for a front slalom truck... some speed boards are already wedged like the evo and commision

if you negative wedge (-) or DE-wedge (DE a prefix that basically means subtract)
then you make the truck more stable and it turns slower.. this would be good on the rear of a slalom board.. or a dh board... again some dh boards already come dewedged or negative wedged such as the evo, or the Dh race...

do i think you could go 100km/h on stock randals right out of the box? yes... would i do it? probably not...

de-wedge might just be a word us canadians use.. i dunno. im sure i have heard most of the slalom guys use that word..

"dewedged"
On 1/15/2007 herbn wrote in from United States  (205.188.nnn.nnn)

sort of a misnomer, slang perhaps. originally wedges were to be used in all their various positions, with all the changes being illustrated quite infamously in their first ad,albiet with the trucks rendered as being mounted backwards. i think 90 percent of all wedges sold were put on with the thin ends towards the ends of the board, this makes trucks steer quicker,so that's what a wedged truck looks like, a "dewedged" truck has the wedge on the other way, making the truck steer less.I think it might be related to a tuned motor ,opposed to a detuned motor. one runs faster ,one runs slower, wedged trucks steer quicker, dewedged steers slower.
