Cliffsliding clinic
On 7/7/2007 Adam wrote in from United States  (208.64.nnn.nnn)

If this sliding clinic goes down on a Saturday I'd like to do a photo/video shoot for Ncdsa. It would be good to finally post some video clips of Cliff's namesake slide after all these years.

Here's one of Cliff's first sliding clinics that took place in Hercules, CA in April 1997. Click here for link Amongst those in attendance were your webmaster, his brother Dan, Noel the quad skate slider extraordinarie, Randal, and Steve (Deplo) Cozens.

Lance,

Great to hear from you! The crew is in Santa Cruz today skating the new park with the full pipe. I haven't had the chance to hang with them either yet. Call 510-677-4490 for everyone's itinerary.

Newbies Looking For Guidance
On 7/6/2007 Craig wrote in from United States  (76.102.nnn.nnn)

-Mr. Coleman
Another member of this forum directed me to you cuz I was looking for some coaching for a crew I have together in Orinda. We're all becoming sophomores in high school, about four or five who are regulars and are serious about the sport, but the only guidance we have is youtube videos and these forums. What we really need is some lessons in person, if only just so we can learn how to slide the right way (only two of us have it down and we're fairly confident that its wrong). Seeing your name virtually everywhere this sport is posted online tells me you're the guy. If you're interested we'd love to coordinate some sort of get together, closer to september when everyone's back, and I could probably get a few guys from as far out as Danville to jump in if we set a date. I dunno, maybe you already have regular lessons and we could just start hittin em up. We're all in love with this sport, but to be honest we really have no idea what we're doing.

More fun!
On 6/13/2007 Cliff Coleman wrote in from United States  (67.124.nnn.nnn)

I recieved a phone call from Dave Rogers. He and I are going to be flying to Sweden from 8-2 till 8-7 for a skate festival there. Then the day after I return, I fly to the Paskapoo events in Calgary, Canada. I don't think the Slalomers understand how much prize money will be dished out! I then fly home and wait until 10-6/7-07 for "Pro Top 2". I promote the only Pro Top Spinning contest held. Then on 10-09-07, I fly to Brazil for almost 6 weeks.

I'm a happy guy!

Now its your turn to come to Montreal! We have a killing scene. Shawn Downey, Marc Seguin, Sasha, Jay...and a killing city!

Wow. NYC jam was great.

Sliders all around the planet: im a happy dude too!

The master of Slide teaches the kids
On 6/10/2007 Judi Oyama wrote in from United States  (68.125.nnn.nnn)

Yesterday's slide class was amazing. Even though the location for the class didn't have a hill the kids were able to learn the Coleman Slide a technique that will get you out of trouble if you are going to fast and need to brake at speeds. Miko and Mike Goldman helped and got tips. Never too old to learn. I had several returning students that have taken all three classes through parks and rec. Next class is planned but not confirmed for the Winter Schedule with Freestyle Champion and overall skateboarder Gary Holl. A beginning skate park class at the Santa Cruz Skate Park on November 10 th.

Cliff thanks for driving down and teaching the kids and the adults. It was great!

Fun!
On 6/10/2007 Cliff Coleman wrote in from United States  (207.69.nnn.nnn)

In the past three weeks I traveled to British Columbia, Canada for the Danger Bay event. I judged the Canadian National Slide Championships. I then flew to New York for Earthwing's Push through Central Park and the following Slide Contest. Then today I was in Santa Cruz, CA teaching sliding to children 8 to 12 years old. While there, I ran into Mike Goldman. Mike and I were on the Santa Cruz team and we hadn't seen each other since 1978. Next weekend I'll be at the Bohemian Grove in Northern California under the redwoods along the river.

Life is good and there are sliders all over the planet!

Thank you Cliff!
On 6/6/2007 MikeD at Earthwing wrote in from United States  (68.173.nnn.nnn)

thank you cliff for coming to ny and making the 1st NY Power Slide Jam a complete success!
there is no way we could have done what we did without you. and the consensus seems to be we did something pretty damn cool.

and besides having a great session with 50-75 people and 50+ prizes we had a fantastic weekend of skating, skating and more skating. it was an honor to meet and skate with you and so many more great people from all over the US, canada and of course brazil, and the board you and brian gave me will hang on my wall next to your sig as one of my most treasured pieces of skate memorabilia. truly one of the best weekends of my life.

i hope you enjoyed being in nyc as much as nyc enjoyed you being around. you are of course welcome back anytime, and i am going to find a way for some of us to come out by you this year so we'll skate again, and of course talk soon.

thanks again for all your effort and be well!

Hello Cliff,

I called twice, now waiting for your call. I dont have any infos where you are going to be stayin at, and well, its kinda important for us to schedule in the road trip gps.

My only chance to get to New York is if Yann has the company truck, if not, ill have to pass cause i am dead broked to afford a trip in the big apple since my babygirl is on the way, and that my USED COMPUTER power supply died and that i have to repair it fast to keep on working. This PC is killing me...anyway.

I cant wait to see you and get to know the Earthwing brothers. Of course, the NY riders as well. I hope that our fellow brothers from down Cali will be playin cool on this epic week end, and that we will all having a great time without having to talk about the past.

Mike, if ever you read this post, please could you send me some indications on how to get there?

Mapple sirup on the way bros...
