Dave and Olson,
Next year's Dixie Cup will be the first weekend of November (3rd, 4th, and 5th!). Start planning to be here if you can! It would rock to have you killing our hills with the likes of Mitchell, Cbark, Mollica, Noah, Hollien, Mandarino, Howard, Jack Smith, etc., etc.

Yeah man, I was at the Downer yesterday, and I have to admit Cab, the costume was good, but it would have been nicer if it lasted a little longer lol

My tribute to olsOn
On 10/29/2005 Cabbage wrote in from United States  (68.34.nnn.nnn)

whats up Hackett & Olson?

you guys are classic with your message board..hahahahaha thats great

just want to tell olson I won my 7th straight banked slalom race, but what made this one special is my tribute to olson outfit(with my own twist to be original). Costume race at Lansdowne for halloween, pink vans, black and white tights, black leather biker, and can't forget the tutu, I even had the gogles on the helmet(homage to Doc)and a smoke in mouth, when I put down the fastest time of the day.

fun time. anyway you guys rip, can't wait to see you all again. Speaking of, when is the next big banked slalom race? Need to race with you guys soon.

sk8 a rOundwall

cabbage

ps do you have any photos sk8ing in your tutu? somebody post em up....

Hackett & Olson in the galleries
On 10/23/2005 Corky wrote in from Sweden  (213.238.nnn.nnn)

For you who attended the European Championships and the legends pool session in Stockholm this year probably remembered the portrait photographer Cato Lein who was running around taking pictures of a lot of you skaters. The original idea was to have a photo gallery in our skate shop with these pictures when the summer season was over. You know what? The summer season is over. And you know what? The photo gallery opens up on the 5:th of november.

Great influence. Great attitude. Great inspiration. All the dudes in Newcastle Australia '78-'81 hung off this guy's every move. And.... we only saw it in still photos.(Skateboarder and Action Now) Steve, you should come to paradise (Australia) and soak up some sun, surf, slalom and what ever else takes your fancy.

The Onion and other related topics.
On 10/18/2005 O'Shei, J. Doyle wrote in from United States  (207.200.nnn.nnn)

No tribute to Olson would be complete without mentioning a recent incident, very recent indeed! I'm refering to the onion, those who have a third eye get the picture! Imagine that you are remote channeling into a very dark place, a very dark place indeed. Picture a long black canyon, at one end the onion, at the other end is Casey Jones, I mean Olson with his hand on the throttle. Who's that with him? My God, the Humanity!

Walk the path of a human (all you horney middle aged honkies)!

which part of the world will it be?

somewhere in europe?

a place with a big f7746463523'n skatepark called the cradle?

is that where the BADDEST park race ever is gonna be held?

is that the place where old against young is gonna happen?
where USA vs. EUROPE happens for the first time in a skatepark?

do they really have that ultralong gs course, which leads into the valley?

they gonna call it the world-championships for 2006?

you know the deal-join me and we make dreams come alive for the first time ever.

time for talk is over.
i'm there and i'm gonna make it happen.
see me backing up my big mouth with actions.

(click the pic to see the full size version, you might have to reload or paste directly into your browser to view the image)

we had a killer "old is cool" showdown at the skate park of athens last night

jimmy leaphart from south carolina just happened to show up and killed it in the longest carve and highest air, but local boy quint lumpkin showed us how it was done in the park slalom

marty schaub set up a slolam course in the parking lot that at one point had over half a dozen new schoolers giving it a try (note to the slolam community, if you want to "grow the sport", try hanging out with other skateboarders instead of setting up "practice" courses on difficult hills in remote locations)

we'll be running park slalom every weekend over the fall, show up and blow up

olson? he's cool, ask him to pass the cheetos
