Good grief, quit with the spatting over nothing and go enjoy the movie, for whatever it turns out to be!
I just hope the soundtrack has more Herb Alpert...I laughed out loud when that came out of the theatre speakers during a Z-Boys screening. A bunch of younger "folk" from a radio station turned around and looked at me with a quizzical, "WTF is funny?" look. I guess that's similar to the look I'll have when something off my new Green Day CD shows up in a movie set in the '70's. Ho ho.
Public preview screenings in San Diego, May 17 and June 1.

what do u think will end up being better the original doc. dogtown and zboys or the new movie lords of dogtown. i have a feeling that the doc. might be better becuase it tells what happend from the acual people instead of a scipt wich isnt the what they said 30 yrs ago but the movies still gonna be sweet i just hope nasty emo kids or what hackett would say vegan freaks in my shcool who never thought about skateing start trying and buying alva boards and shirt and powell peralta reissues. there only 3 kids in my school who buy older style boards and thats me and 2 of my freinds

21.6 million what a stupid way of discussing the movie... but if you only want to bet about opening bugs... whatever... here's my guess. If Hacket says it's good, it's all good. He's been there, done that.

Now that doesn't suck.
Hackett seems pretty cool to me.
I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with my crazy-assed bro then skating somewhere in the dark.

jealousy or just wierd dudes?
obviously some of you have issues with hack, he's very outspoken. But the jealousy really seems to be what comes through in the posts.
Weiner - you suck because you have no credibility and talk, but don't let people know who you are. Very weak and just plain senseless. Best bet - you're girlfriend liked the hackett's when you sucked.
Tom T. - Many great posts from Tom on other forums and has left his left his email address before. Tom just don't like Hackett. Tom you suck because for some reason you let this get to you. Hahahahahahaha!
Webmaster - you just suck for deleting what you want.
People are people and can have opinions - the anger by Tom and Weiner just adds up to jealousy. Very strange because I'd bet they are both over 40. But then again not strange because Hack's doing something he loves for a living and I'd bet the other two "go to work everyday".
11.5 million in the first weekend.

I said it once; I'll say it again-
Don't ever believe some little weiner who dosn't have a ball sack to post his real name OR email address. Probably one of those Vegan Freaks who can't get a hard on any more. Eat my MEAT Bitch.
Love you!

Never said your name in the post or this one. The funny thing was how they guy knows he's a kook, and goes through the motions of trying to sell everyone his lies of self deception that anyone knew or cared about him in the days of the dogbowl (or ever for that matter). P.C. and Peralta were both G&S members too, this is true, but would you ever see guys who really were on the team as pros wear their uniform anywhere other than a contest or demo? not likely, not even Peralta wore his 'colors' at the DogBowl. Paul Hacket (RIP) was rad no doubt, but his relative is just a wanna be, always has been always will be a wanna be. Can't tell the truth and can't even take a real truthful criticism on a website, and has it taken down because it's all true! ... frontside carve??? haaa! as if! look at the back foot and hand placement, and that still does not explain no coping even if it was true - poor guy
- the troll with his ass-hole pressed against your mouth tough guy
the 1st note in case you missed it before it was CENSORED of the site:
first of all the film was ok, not great by any stretch of the imagination.
Some kook below said he was there and has a gay picture of himself not even hitting coping at the dogbowl, wearing that kooked out GOD SQUAD (G&S) uniform with the bright yellow collered shirt and red OP's that most would only wear in a contest when forced to, unless of course you just were a wannabe kook, that only got to skate the DogBowl when no one else was around (evidence that picture compared with most of the other good ones you might see around with all the DT boys and dogs around). So obviously his opinion ain't worth a doo-doo.
Anyway back to the film: it is "Hollywood" on a medium budget, going with that in mind and not the REAL story, as pure entertainment for kids, you may be able to see beyond all of it's faults. Even people who weren't "there" who saw the Documentary may be dissapointed by it's "based on a true story' theme since much of it is pure "story", not reality. And indeed some of the scenes will make you cringe, but after seeing it a 2nd time i could admit it did not totally suck and was pretty fun. One thing I will agree with that the kook wrote was that the kid who played Jay did do a great job (too bad that's not him, but his skate double in the photo.) If you love the trailer like I did you may also like the movie, but if you were turned off even by the trailer you don't want to go to the theater for this one.

He for sure was NOT there. Nor can he skate. If he could skate he would know I am doing a FS (That stands for "FRONTSIDE", Kook!) carve in that photo.
And Yes, I got to skate the DogBowl many times WITH all the Boyz AND with only a couple bro's- Like my Bro "PC", or Paul constantineau who was also sponsored by G&S or The "GodSquad" along with Stacy Peralta and my brother Paul (RIP) who you can see in the shallow end of that photo.
VERY FEW GOT TO RIDE THAT POOL WITH ONLY A COUPLE BROS.
I admit, it's not the best photo I have of me riding the DogBowl. I'm saving those for my new book, titled "I WAS THERE - YOU WERN'T KOOK" - HA HA HA!!
Any troll can get on here anonymously and post stupid sh!t like that hating on me; usually they are the ones who wish they were like me...
I'm flattered. Just for your effort tough guy; YOU WIN THE "TOTAL KOOK - LITTLE WEINER AWARD"!
Congratulations! Great Job!
And thanks for keeping my name out there!
All the best!

Personally, I can't wait to see this movie. I'm wondering about the marketing. Michael Brooke had posted some marketing #'s in the millions. I'm just not seeing it I guess. I haven't seen the trailer on TV (I saw it on the net after hunting it down) or anything in magazines. I thought there would have been an add in the new CW seeing that it was the last issue before the movie is released. Has their marketing plan just not started yet?

I, myself care about what happened 30 yrs ago. Anyone who skates or at least likes watching ppl who skate would wanna watch this anyways. I watched Dogtown & Z-boys and i can't wait to watch the lords of dogtown. That would be pretty stupid for someone not to know the stories of skateboarding. I know im gonna go see the movie ASAP! The preview gave me goosebumps!

My question is do the kids these days actually care what happened with skateboarding thirty ago?
It seems to me that Jumping stairwells and sliding down bannisters is what the majority of the kids are into these days. Will the movie be radikal enough to satisfy the minds of teenagers or will they expect more.
I’m look foreword to it. 10.5 mill

Anyone who has not seen Dogtown and Z-Boys should go out and see it. i highly recommend seeing it before seeing Lords of Dogtown so you can really know the backgrounds of all of these guys and how they truly changed the sport of skateboarding. and MikeR dont listen to people if they call you a poser. You are doing what you love to do, so just dont listen.
i predict 14 and a half million on the opening weekend...

If you can even barely stand on a deck and have fun skating you're not a poser. Even if you were, who cares. Will it change skateboarding? Did Blue Crush or Big Wednesday change surfing? Not really. It may open the eyes of some kids to new possibilities, some will think it's lame and will goof on anyone who skates "oldschool". I really don't care what anyone thinks. Mike V. has a show on Fuel where he goes around the country, he was skating a basketball court and doing low surf style carves, g-turns, surf inspired, off the lip style kickturns, and mixed it all up with regular street. It was awesome. A great blending of oldschool style and current street tricks. It's hard to predict how kids will take the movie. Hopefully it will inspire more kids to adapt the Mike V. style of skating.
I look forward to it, it'll be fun to see.
